After leaving his mark on TV with Six Feet Under, director Alan Ball of American Beauty fame returns to HBO with his new series True Blood, based on the books by author Charlaine Harris, and starring Anna Paquin. Ball and other members of the cast and crew go behind the show, which includes both vampires (all the rage among teens and adults) and humans wreaking havoc in a fictional Louisiana town. Come to ogle at the hunky male cast, and stay to find out who the killer is in Bon Temps.

Vampires in America and the Great Revelation

Sookie Eric said " Yield to me "

Great Sookie, Eric Bill scene from the end of bk 2

"Sookie," Eric said. I didn't think he'd heard a word. "Yield to me."

Well, that was pretty direct.
"No," I said, in the most definite voice I could summon. "No."
"I will protect you from Bill."
"You're the one that's gonna need protection!" When I reflected on that sentence, I was not proud of it.
"You think Bill is stronger than me?"
"I am not having this conversation." Then I proceeded to have it. "Eric, I appreciate your offering to help me, and I appreciate your willingness to come to an awful place like this."
"Believe me, Sookie, this little gathering of trash is nothing, nothing, compared to some of the places I have been."
And I believed him utterly. "Okay, but it's awful to me. Now, I realize that I should've known this would, ah, rouse your expectations, but you know I did not come out here tonight to have sex with anyone.

Bill is my boyfriend." Though the words boyfriend and Bill sounded ludicrous in the same sentence, "boyfriend" was Bill's function in my world, anyway.
"I am glad to hear it," said a cool, familiar voice. "This scene would make me wonder, otherwise."
Oh, great. Eric rose up off of me, and I scrambled off the hood of the car and stumbled in the direction of Bill's voice.

"Sookie," he said, when I drew near, "it's getting to where I just can't let you go anywhere alone."

Rene attack in graveyard -is Sookie laying in the grave of one of Bill's descendents ? Ep 12

Really good catch by vstargirl

Sookie is in the Bellefluer section of Bon Temp cemetery and is actually laying on the grave of Sophie Gibbons Bellefluer

Now we don't know for sure how she is connected but she may be laying on the grave of one of Bill's descendants.
His family history ( and other Bon Temp families ) are here

We will find out much more about this is season 2 !

Tara , Sookie and Andy find Lafayettes body

bk 2

So I was cheerful when I went to work. When I saw the Buick sitting all by
It's lonesome in front of bar, I remembered Andy's surprising binge the night before. I have to confess, I smiled when I thought of how he'd be feeling today. Just as I was about to drive around in back and park with the other employees, I noticed that Andy's rear passenger door was open just a little bit. That would make his dome light stay on, surely? And his battery would run down. And he'd be angry, and have to come in the bar to call the tow truck, or ask someone to jump him . . . so I put my car in park and slid out, leaving it running. That
turned out to be an optimistic error I shoved the door to, but it would only give an inch. So I pressed my body to it, thinking it would latch and I could be on my way. Again, the door would not click shut. Impatiently, I yanked it all the way open to find out what was in the way. A wave of smell gusted out into the parking lot, a dreadful smell. Dismay clutched at my throat, because the smell was not unknown to me. I peered into the backseat of the car my hand covering my mouth, though that hardly helped with the smell

Oh, man," I whispered. "Oh, shit." Lafayette, the cook for one shift at Merlotte's, had been shoved into the backseat. He was naked. It was thin brown foot, its toenails
painted a deep crimson, that had kept the door from shutting, and it was 's corpse that
smelled to high heaven I backed away hastily, then scrambled into my car and drove around back behind the bar, blowing my horn. Sam came running out of the employee door, an apron tied around his waist. I turned off my carand was out of it so quick I hardly realized I'd done it, and I wrapped myself around Sam like static-filled sock "What is it?" Sam's voice said in my ear. I leaned back to look at him, not having to gaze up too much since Sam is a
smallish man.

Lafayette’s death described and the Eric/ Bill Sandwich that save Sookie’s life

I could taste the flavor of Eggs's thoughts. He was remembering Lafayette, thin brown body, talented fingers, and heavily made up eyes. He was remembering Lafayette's whispered suggestions. Then he was
choking those happy memories off with more unpleasant ones, Lafayette protesting violently, shrilly .
~~~
I reached in another direction, wormed into the head of Mike Spencer, found the nasty tangle I'd expected, found that as he rolled Cleo's breasts in his hands he was seeing other brown flesh, limp and lifeless. His own flesh rose as he remembered this. Through his memories I saw Jan asleep on the lumpy
couch, Lafayette's protest that if they didn't stop hurting him he would tell everyone what he'd done and with whom, and then Mike's fists descending, Tom Hardaway kneeling on the thin dark chest . . .I love the violence of sex, I love the reek of drink," she said dreamily. "I can run from miles away to be there for the end."
"You hit him during sex," the maenad said to Tom. "You hit him, because you are proud, and his subservience disgusted and excited you." She stretched her bony hand to caress Tom's dark face. I could see the whites of his eyes. "And you"—she patted Mike with her other hand—"you beat him, too, because you were seized with the madness. Then he threatened to tell."
~~~

The fear pouring out of their heads began to fill mine up, and run out. I covered my face with my hands. I threw up the strongest shields I could fashion, but I could still barely contain the terror. My back arched, and I bit my tongue to keep from making a sound. I could feel the movement as Bill turned to me, and then Eric was by his side and they were both mashing me between them. There is not a thing erotic about being pressed between two vampires under those circumstances. Their own urgent desire for my silence fed the fear, because what would frighten vampires? The dog pressed against our legs as if he offered us protection.

True Blood: Mysteries and Cliffhangers

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Nelsan EllisThere are days when I wish HBO's True Blood wasn't based on a popular book series. I'm the type of person who likes to avoid spoilers as much as possible, but because Alan Ball's creation closely follows the plot of the novels, spoilers are almost impossible to ignore. There were plenty of intriguing mysteries set up in the show's first season finale that I could probably find answers to on Wikipedia, but I'd rather theorize, speculate, and see how things play out when True Blood returns for its second season next summer.

Read on to see which mysteries and cliffhangers spoiler-free fans will be stressing out over as we anxiously wait for the vampire drama to return.

What happened to Lafayette?

Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) is one of my favorite characters on True Blood, so I'd love to live in denial and believe that he'll be alive and well in season 2. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case. The show needs some sort of mystery for the second season, and Lafayette being killed by some strange force is a good setup. I'll continue holding out the slightest hope that the foot with the painted toenails that fell out of Andy's car belongs to someone else, but it's highly unlikely.

Following the scene where Lafayette was attacked, Bill (Stephen Moyer) told Sookie that he fed after rising from the ground. This was obviously meant to make us wonder whether Bill is responsible for Lafayette's death, but I can't see that being the case. Even in his most weary, blood-hungry state, I can't imagine Bill attacking one of Sookie's friends. He'd also have no reason to plant the body in Andy's car.

If Bill's not responsible, who is? It could be Maryann, who we still know nothing about. It could be the senator or one of his goons, especially after Lafayette confronted him in the previous episode. Immature vampire Jessica is also on the list of suspects. She certainly wouldn't hesitate to kill a human being if given the chance. These are just a few of many possibilities, proving that True Blood's next big mystery is going to be just as tough to figure out as this season's.

What's the deal with Maryann?

Here's what we know about Maryann: she somehow knows Sam (Sam Trammell) and his secret, she likes to hang out with a pig, she's too nice to be trusted, and she has some sort of power. Other than that, Maryann remains a mystery. Her presence in Bon Temps is enough of a threat to convince Sam to throw some money in a bag and possibly skip town, but why is he so afraid of her?

My theory is that Maryann could be another shape-shifter, which would explain why she was standing naked in the middle of the road in her first episode. Maybe she and Sam had some sort of crazy shifter relationship and bad breakup. Is that why she had her minion delete his messages off Tara's phone?

What will become of the Fellowship of the Sun?

I love Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), but he sure is gullible. He has a knack for stumbling into terrible situations, and it doesn't look like that's going to change in season 2. The first season found him being led around by his penis, but now it looks like his brain will be the organ getting him into trouble. Associating with a cult-like anti-vampire church is a very bad idea.

I'm excited about the Fellowship of the Sun storyline, if only because it'll allow Alan Ball to introduce a metaphor for the insane real-life Westboro Baptist Church. Someone had to put up that "God hates fangs" sign that we see during the opening credits every week, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Fellowship is responsible.

Charlaine Harris Blog - nov 25 ( Sookie 10!!)

from Charlaine's blog from yesterday

Autumn is a time of winding down, of endings. The first season of TRUE BLOOD has come to a close in a most satisfactory finale. Though I’ve enjoyed every episode of Alan Ball’s creation, I’m almost glad to get a break. I’ve been doing three interviews or more per week, plus answering a lot more questions on the board than I normally get. Maybe this slack time will allow me to catch up on some things I’ve neglected.

By the time the next season rolls around, I’ll feel like a seasoned pro. If I go to that premiere party, I won’t be nearly as strung out and terrified as I was at this year’s. And though we barely know each other, I feel like I’m an old friend of the actors, because they’ve inhabited my characters. (Let me repeat here how pleased and surprised I was that they were all so warm and welcoming to me. And everyone on Alan’s team I met was like that, no matter what their position.) The HBO people are very obliging, too, and super at what they do.

I should be winding down the next Harper, too, but I’m very behind on it. Most of my December will be spent working hard, but that’s not a bad thing. Then I may write my short story for Toni and mine’s next anthology (you’re going to love it, it’s about supernaturals on vacation), and after that I’ll get to work on the next Sookie. On the advice of my agent, I’ve been turning down a lot of anthology offers. Some of them I really regretted, and it was hard to do, but he made me go over my schedule in a realistic way. I had to admit, “No” has to be a bigger part of my repertoire.

...The upside is that endings allow new beginnings. TRUE BLOOD will have a second season that may be even better than the first, and the ratings may go even higher. There’s a chance that this Harper will be better than AN ICE COLD GRAVE. The next anthology may sell even better than WOLFSBANE AND MISTLETOE, and I’ve already got some good ideas for Sookie 10.....So have a wonderful holiday season as the year winds down. There’s every chance next year will be better.
