Get ready to sink your teeth into action this season

If True Blood sucked you in before, just wait until you watch Season 3.

There are so many twists, turns and sexy thrills — including intriguing vampire politics and crazy Nazi werewolves — you won't know what bit you.

Nelsan Ellis, who plays sharp-tongued, man-loving, critic-pleasing Lafayette Reynolds, offered his take on the monster drama's new, 12-episode season, which bows at 8 p.m. Sunday on HBO.

“There's way more action,” Ellis said in a phone chat. “We meet some werewolves, really mean and vicious ones. And the wolves fight the vampires.”

The sex, however, is the aspect he couldn't rave enough about.

“There's a lot of it,” said the soft-spoken actor, who grew up in Alabama. “But there's nothing really weird about it this season. It happens between people with strong connections and chemistry.”

One of these strong connections, in fact, happens between Ellis' character and a guy named Jesus played by San Antonio native Kevin Alejandro. But I'll get into that later.
