Hey Dallas!

Having skimmed through the chat log, I just wanted to note that all signs point to Jesus actually being a "brujo," not a "santero"-- as hinted at when he mentions that his birthplace was Catemaco.

This would mean that he actually WOULD consider himself a "witch." And sources I've found suggest that it's actually a fair bit darker than the practice of Santeria in some, but not all, cases. Either way, brujeria is a larger blanket term that is closely linked to both Santeria AND Haitian Voodoo.

I find this pretty funny actually, considering the writers chose to make Jesus a nurse, for a couple of reasons. The first being that the annual festival of brujos in Catemaco seems to focus a lot on medicine men and witchdoctors (LOL!) and the second being that Jesus has a stereotypically "female" occupation (nursing) to go along with his stereotypically "female" pastime (witchcraft).

Just thought I'd put that out there, since it seems there was some indignation swirling about as to my supposed inaccuracy on Sunday.

Hey MA

Well Dallas knows NOTHING about any of this so it's interesting hearing everyone discuss the possibilities.

If I was forced to guess what kind of "supe" Jesus could be I would guess a witch because that is where we are heading with "Dead to the World " and Hallow

Maybe he's a witch who can shapeshift? You never know!

I just wonder whether he'll end up being a "good" guy or a "bad" guy. For Lafayette's sake, I've got my fingers crossed for the former.
