Some spoilers for Episode 4

From Kristen @ E!

Kelly in Amsterdam, Netherlands: Please give us some scoop on Alexander Skarsgård from True Blood!
Not only is Alex the show's leading eye candy, but he also serves as the show's official Swedish-English translator. Costar Kristin Bauer, who plays Eric's "serial killer baby" Pam, tells us, "They keep writing me lines [to read in] Swedish, and Alexander calls and says the Swedish on my phone. Hopefully he's not lying to me about what I'm saying. That's what my boyfriend does—he's from Africa, and he's teaching me Afrikaans, and I don't know what I'm saying, but he laughs."

Jerry in New Orleans: What's coming up on True Blood?
In the next episode, Sookie (Anna Paquin), Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) encounter trouble when they arrive in Dallas and find out that someone from the Fellowship of the Sun was sent to abduct Sookie. The plan fails. And believe it or not, Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) invites Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) into his home and feeds off his blood to recover from the wounds suffered when Eric abducted him. Strange bedfellows, indeed.

True Blood is biting into the Buffy effect

from the Guardian UK

It's six years since the final episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was first transmitted. That, you might have thought, was that. After seven seasons, we'd surely had enough of bloodsuckers.

With its sanguine exploration of teen and twentysomething sexuality, the urban fantasy genre is going from strength to strength – a certain cheerleader would be proud

Except it hasn't turned out that way. It's not just that, in 2007, Dark Horse Comics unleashed "season eight" of Buffy, a direct continuation from the series, partly written by Buffy's creator, Joss Whedon. Now vamps, vamp companions and eldritch folk in general are suddenly everywhere.

In July, F/X will screen True Blood, an HBO series produced by Alan Ball. Instead of residing Six Feet Under, this time a sizeable percentage of its characters are the walking undead, vampires who have revealed themselves to humans and apparently want to join our wider community. Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress attracted to bloodsucker Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) in part because she can't hear his thoughts.

Which 'True Blood' Couple Are You?

From Your Tango

The vampire series is more than just sex and blood—it also reveals the human side of love.

We all know that vampires, and the people who love them, continue to be one of the hottest trends in entertainment. The undead have left their (fang) marks on TV, books and movies, proving that blood sells. Especially when it's mixed in with a whole lot of sex. The second season of True Blood, the TV series based on Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse novels, is no exception. Read: True Blood's Vampire Romance

Created by Alan Ball, and airing on HBO, True Blood is violent, sexual and mysterious, especially with the eerie backdrop of the always-hazy Louisiana bayou. But the essence of the murderous series is a show about love and desire between those—human and otherwise—who are different. The characters all struggle with inner turmoil in their approach to relationships.

Sex and Candy: Life, Death, and Dating on "True Blood"

I too loved the Sex and candy entrance ! from Televisionary blog

"And then there she was/Like double cherry pie..."

I had the opportunity to watch the first four episodes of Season Two of True Blood a few weeks back but I've been rewatching the episodes as they're airing on HBO so that I don't forget any of the plot twists.

I don't know about you but I thought that last night's episode of True Blood ("Scratches"), written by Raelle Tucker and directed by Scott Winant, was the best of the season so far.

It's a good thing I did tune in again as it contained one of my favorite scenes of the first four episodes, the sultry entrance of Jessica (the intoxicating Deborah Ann Woll) at Merlotte's to the delicious tune of Marcy Playground's "Sex and Candy," one of the most seductive and memorable sequences to unfold on the series to date.

New Sookieverse Short Story by Charlaine Harris 7/7/2009

ANTHOLOGIES: Strange Brew
Charlaine Harris, Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs, P.N. Elrod, Rachel Caine

From Publishers Weekly Anthologist Elrod (My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding) taps into the urban fantasy craze with a mixed bag of wizardry, mystery and glamour. The best include Patricia Briggs's wistful Seeing Eye, wherein blind witch Wendy Moira Keller helps werewolf Tom Franklin search for his missing brother, and Jim Butcher's funny Last Call, which finds wizard Harry Dresden hot on the tail of Meditrina Bassarid, a wicked wine-loving maenad who wreaks havoc in a Chicago bar. In Rachel Caine's romantic Death Warmed Over, Holly Anne Caldwell, a resurrection witch, falls in love with Andrew Toland, a corpse from 1875, while Elrod's Hecate's Golden Eye tells of a 1937 hunt for a curious family gem. In Charlaine Harris’ “Bacon,” a beautiful vampire joins forces with a witch from an ancient line to find out who killed her beloved husband. Though not particularly groundbreaking, these tales will easily keep paranormal mystery fans entertained.

TV Guide Magazine: True Blood Cover Shoot with Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer

Join True Blood stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten and Rutina Wesley on their cover shoot for TV Guide Magazine! Exclusive interviews about the new season and behind the scenes footage!

'True Blood' actor ( Sam Trammell) has W.Va. ties

CHARLESTON, W.Va.--Modern gothic literature played out on television and the silver screen often includes a familiar scenario where the heroine is torn between a vampire and a human. Or a werewolf. Or a shape-shifter.

On HBO's True Blood, former Charleston resident Sam Trammell plays Sam Merlotte, a shape-shifting bar owner who often turns into a collie dog. And Trammell is fairly certain who has the upper hand in the romance department.

"Of course the heroine should choose the shape-shifter, for sure," Trammell said in a recent telephone interview.

"I'm not dead," Trammell added with a laugh, "which is an advantage, you know. I'm not cold to the touch. So I'd have to say I think I'm a better match for Sookie."

Sookie, of course, is waitress Sookie Stackhouse, the central character in Charlaine Harris' novels set in Bon Temps, La. Sookie, played by Golden Globe-winner Anna Paquin, is dating vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and also is loved by Sam.

Trammell, who grew up in Charleston, is in Los Angeles while the show shoots its last couple episodes for the second season, which now airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.

How Baby Vampires Pick Up Guys On True Blood

Ep 3 review from Io9

This week, we watched with big watery eyes as the baby vampire Jessica met a boy and batted her long eyelashes alluringly, at his pulsating jugular. True Blood recap, with spoilers, below.

True Blood tied up a few (but not many) loose ends this week, by freeing our boy Lafayette (more on Sookie and Bill's half-hearted kindness towards the bleeding prostitute later) and made Tara a bit more aware of what a tool Eggs is, guitar playing and weepy emotional talks aside.

Sookie was attacked by some horned beast and almost died — again — and Eric got his sexy back. A good episode all in all, but the best moment came from side characters Hoyt and Jessica.

True Blood: Fans of Fangs

From Tulsa World

It seems as if the whole world's been bitten. From Buffy to Bella to Sookie Stackhouse, vampire stories have never been hotter. Why are vampire stories so in demand? Maybe it's the notion of never dying, or it's the idea of regular folks opening their eyes to a secret coven among them. Nevertheless, vamps haven't finished leaving their marks anytime soon.

On the small screen
From a plucky cheerleader to a sultry cocktail waitress, TV heroines can't stop swooning over vampires.

True Blood Recipes: Sarah Newlin's Slice of Heaven Banana pudding

From True Blood Episode 3 'Scratches'

"Sarah's pudding is a little slice of heaven," says the Rev Steve Newlin. "I'm going to get the whipped cream," Sarah responds. Steve says "Sarah doesn't just whip out her pudding for anybody,"

Banana Pudding
. 1 cup Sugar
. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
. 1/2 teaspoon salt
. 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
. 1 tablespoon butter (not margarine)
. 4 egg yolks (large eggs or better)
. box of Vanilla wafers
. 4-5 ripe bananas
. Whipped Cream
Line the bottom of a 9" x 9" baking dish with a layer of vanilla wafers.
Peel the bananas and slice. Combine the sugar, flour and salt in a bowl, and stir well to mix. Set aside.
In a heavy saucepan, beat the egg yolks well (just use a fork or whisk, but beat them well). Over medium heat, add the flour mixture to the egg yolks, alternately with the milk and vanilla, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil and, when the mixture begins to thicken, add the butter, continuing to stir. Keep boiling and stirring until mixture reaches a pudding consistency. Remove from heat.
Place a layer of banana slices in the baking dish on top of the vanilla wafers. Pour, spreading as necessary, half of the pudding over the banana layer. Put down another layer of vanilla wafers, another layer of banana slices, and cover with the remaining pudding.
You can keep out a few wafers and crush them up and sprinkle on top. Top with whipped cream or cool whip.

**Note many Southern Banana pudding recipe call for a meringue topping but Sarah prefers whipped cream.

Sink your teeth into resurgence of vampire lore

From the Boston Herald

What in the name of Vlad Dracul is going on?

Suddenly, it’s vampires 24/7. First, Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling “Twilight” series is an instant 2008 blockbuster with two sequels already announced (the first follow-up, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” opens Nov. 20).

Then, “True Blood” (2008), featuring Anna Paquin as vampire-loving waitress Sookie Stackhouse, becomes a ratings magnet on HBO. Then Guillermo del Toro co-writes and publishes “The Strain,” a novel about vampires ravaging New York City.

It’s popcorn, garlic and holy water at the arthouse, too, where the Swedish supernatural thriller “Let the Right One In” was a 2008 sleeper hit (an inevitable American version is in the works). On July 10, “Blood: The Last Vampire” arrives in area theaters. A live-action version of a 48-minute 2000 Japanese anime, the film tells the “Blade”-like tale of a “halfling” girl sent to root out a vampire demon at a military school. This summer, we’ll also see “Thirst” (July 31), a South Korean drama about a priest who becomes a vampire after a botched medical procedure; it’s from the renegade auteur Chan-wook Park.

'True Blood': Eric: 'Perhaps I will grow on you'; Sookie: 'I'd prefer cancer'

From EW

This week's True Blood picked up exactly where last week's left off: Sookie, Bill, and Jessica in car, squabbling. Then: Sookie leaves car, is chased by what Eric will later refer to as "this bull-man," is attacked and left with supernatually poisonous, bleeding scars on her back. That shut up Jessica for a few minutes, didn't it? ("Petulant, dangerous, afraid," Bill describes Jessica, as who among us is not?)

Loved Dr. Ludwig and her grumpy ministrations. Loved Sookie going to Fangtasia, reading Ginger's mind, and finding Lafayette. (In fact, it was good in general to have a Sookie-centric episode this week, wasn't it?)

Did not understand why Sookie now owes Eric a favor for helping save her and Lafayette. I mean, going to Dallas to hunt wayard vampires? Who does Eric think Sookie is, Buffy Summers? All suggestions/obvious reasons I'm missing in this regard are most welcome. (Seems like she should have prevailed favor-free, given the righteousness of her argument plus the back-up strength of Bill, who really should have stepped up and supported her, but was curiously, wimpily passive in this scene with Eric. What's up with that?) But, but: best exchange of the night: Eric to Sookie, "Perhaps I will grow on you." Sookie to Eric, "I'd prefer cancer."

True Blood S02E01 – “Nothin But The Blood” Music Review By Boadicea

Thanks to the amazing Boadicea for agreeing to do these little music highlight posts for us ...

True Blood S02E01 – “Nothin But The Blood”

Music Review

By Boadicea

The geniuses behind the music selection of True Blood began the season on a high note (yes … pun intended). It’s going to be a bloody season, a very bloody season with the first episode properly named “Nothin But The Blood”.

We’re reminded of our first impression last year of True Blood with its theme song, ‘Bad Things’ by Jace Everett. “…You came in, the air went out. And all those shadows, there, filled up with doubt. I don’t know who you think you are, but before the night is through … I wanna do bad things with you. I wanna do real bad things with you. I don’t know what you’ve done to me, but I know this much is true … I wanna do bad things with you. I wanna do real bad things with you.”

Then there is always the beautifully haunting music by Nathan Barr – composer and performing artist of “Bill’s Entrance”, “Bill & Sookie’s Love Theme”, “Bill & Sookie Come Together”, “Take Me Home” with Lisbeth Scott, and many more of the original background scores. Who wouldn’t want an entire cd of nothing but Nathan Barr’s music. (ME .. ME ..*hint*hint*)
Amongst each episode’s bloodlust and sexual lust, a particular song will stand out.

Episode 2.01 “Nothin’ But The Blood”: The most subliminal song was “The Golden State” by John Doe (featuring Kathleen Edwards). The lyrics refer closely to Bill & Sookie’s struggling relationship; the developing relationship of Tara & Eggs; Sam & Maryanne’s past relationship; and, all the bloody creatures and happenings in Bon Temps:

You are the hole in my head I am the pain in your neck
You are the lump in my throat I am the aching in your heart
We are tangled
We are stolen
We are living where things are hidden

You are something in my eye

And I am the shiver down your spine

You are on the lick of my lips

And I am on the tip of your tongue
We are tangled

We are stolen

We are buried up to our necks in sand
We are luck
We are fate

We are the feeling you get in the golden state

We are love

We are hate

We are the feeling I get when you walk away….

Walk away

Well you are the dream in my nightmare
I am that falling sensation
You are not needles and pills
I am your hangover morning
We are tangled
We are stolen
We are living where things are hidden

You are the hole in my head

You are the pain in your neck

You are the lump in my throat
I am the aching in your heart

And we’re still wondering … who’s going to do what bad things to whom, when and how much?

Talk Blood ( True Blood Ep 3 ) Chatroom transcript

Alexander Skarsgård speaks about the deaths of Farrah Fawcett & Michael Jackson

True Blood Episode 3 teaser

from Rope of Silicon

Things just keep getting better with "Scratches," the third episode of "True Blood" season two, as a new element of villainy is added to the scenario and one that begins to play a larger role with more than just one of the series' characters.

The episode picks up shortly after the goings on at Jessica's (Deborah Ann Woll) parents' house where, if you'll remember, Bill showed up at the last possible minute at the end of the last episode, but we were left to wonder what was to come. Well, now we know and it isn't exactly a surprise, but — as you can see from the brief clip from the opening minutes to the right — there is much more in store for this episode as well as the rest of the season as Sookie (Anna Paquin) is attacked and left for dead.

So, as Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Sookie turn to Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) for help, Jessica heads home on her own, a plot point not forgotten by the writers that will bring into play one of the town's regulars not often given enough screentime, but it appears he may be getting much more in the future. Jessica is turning out to be the "Vampire 101" aspect of the show, but the writers aren't using her naivete as a vampire as a crutch as much as a story-telling device and it is working quite nicely.

Meanwhile, back at "Vampire Killer Training Camp" Jason is having nightmares and beginning to doubt himself, if only for a brief second, but his portion of this week's story is much smaller than previous episodes. However, he is around long enough to hear Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) drop this quote on us, "You cannot love evil. You have to hate it. So hating evil is like loving good." Jason nods his head and we are once again witness to his simple mind at work. Good stuff.

Instead, attention remains on the disappearance of the vampire Godrick in Texas and just what exactly is going to be done about it and the continuing presence of Maryann in Bon Temps as she throws a massive neighborhood party and once again things get a bit out of control causing Detective Belflour to say, "Whatchu doin' here pig?"

True Blood from Clever TV

10 reasons why you should be watching “True Blood”

Post in the comments YOUR top 10 reasons why to watch True Blood !

Season two of the HBO original series “True Blood” started last week, and you should really be watching it. Not just for the romance between vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and psychic waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), and not just because it’s about vampires. Make no mistake: “True Blood” is not your little sister’s “Twilight.” It’s got action, intrigue, plenty of steamy scenes, Southern charm, creatures of the night, Anna Paquin, a guy that turns into a dog, and enough blood splatter to make a Jackson Pollock painting jealous.

You should be watching it, and this is why:

1. The supernatural. Vampires have come out of the coffin. They walk among us (at night). They drink synthetic blood at our bars. They’re dating the girl next door. And they’re not alone: voodoo witchdoctors, psychic waitresses, and people who turn into animals are all regular cast members.

2. Bon Temps, Louisiana. When’s the last time you heard of a vampire story set in the deep South? New York City or Sunnydale, California, maybe. Transylvania, definitely. But Bon Temps, Louisiana? Shoot son, that’s what I call original! In a small town where everyone knows everyone, when strange things start happening around Merlotte’s Bar, rumors spread quicker than wildfire. Plus, the setting makes for plenty of Southern humor and Cajun accents.

3. The opening credits. Jace Everett’s country single “Bad Things” will have you singing along and getting down with your bad self every week.

Anne Rice Talks about True Blood

from an excellent interviews with Ms Rice by Aaron W. Tellock

True Blood, the HBO series, is infinitely more complex. The show is clever, satirical and yet deeply involving. It is full of humor and yet its characters have tender and emotional scenes. I find it very engaging and fun to watch. Obviously it has too much sex and violence for very young teens. But for an adult audience, it is an amazing development in the vampire mythology, putting the vampires right into the mainstream of the modern world. I like the show. I think the vampire Bill is the usual metaphor for the outsider and the sensitive outcast who suffers. He's excellent.

Can Ethan Hawke's Daybreakers Make Vampires Edgy Again?

Daybreakers hyper-stylized world of tomorrow in is run by vampires, while humans are on the verge of extinction. Faced with imminent starvation, vampire Ethan Hawk turns to Willem Dafoe and the last remaining humans for help.

We're going to go ahead and call it: Daybreakers looks fantastic. Pay no heed to Dafoe's cheese-ball lines and look at the intricate futuristic world-building here. There are blood stations, blood banks, and oh my yes — that's Dr. Grant as a vampire. It's been so long since we've had a solid vampire epic, and we dearly want this to be Fifth Element good, which is the feel I'm getting from it.

HBO's 'True Blood' star Sam Trammell finds his way home to Louisiana

The Times-Picayune

It is not such a long way from New Orleans to Bon Temps, La.

The Crescent City and the fictional setting of HBO's "True Blood" cast similar shadows.

They're both places where you can comfortably change your shape, howl at the moon and acquire unexplained bite marks. The trip from suburban Maryland Avenue in Metairie to Bon Temps is a different kind of journey.

Sam Trammell, who plays the Sookie-struck roadhouse owner Sam Merlotte on the saucy vampire drama (Sunday, 8 p.m.), traversed that route via West Virginia, Brown University, the New York stage, prime-time TV and feature films. Born at Ochsner Medical Center in 1971 while his father was in medical school at Tulane University (both his mother and father earlier attended LSU), Trammell bounced around with his family early on but they landed long enough on Maryland Avenue for him to compile glowing childhood memories.

"I remember it being pretty big," he said during a recent telephone interview. "I went back a few years ago and it's just so tiny. I remember playing kick-the-can right before dusk. It was such a great neighborhood to grow up in. I also remember going to Mardi Gras parades and just yelling at the people, 'Give me something, mister!' That was what I was taught to yell. I think that's what all the kids yelled back then. I remember the doubloons and the beads. It was really fun, really exciting."

RUTINA WESLEY from True Blood Exclusive Interview

From Daemonstv

Recently I got a chance to speak withRutina Wesley who plays Tara on one of the Best show ion television , HBO's True Blood.

Rutina Wesley is one of the Emmy hopefuls this year, and if you have seen True Blood then you know this is definitely an award-worthy show and Rutina Wesley is one of the people that help make it that way.

Rutina Wesley talked about what is coming up this second season for Tara, how she got into acting, and much more. So enjoy her interview below.

Congratulations on getting such good ratings for season two. How does it feel?

Rutina Wesley: It feels really, really good, and I'm telling you, I'm sort of shocked at the ratings. I knew that we had a huge following, but the fact that so many more people are loving the show, it's all great and positive.

Had you originally read all the books, or have you read them since doing the show?

Rutina Wesley: Well, I read the first book. Tara is very different in the books than they've decided to take her in the show. So after the first book I sort of didn't read anymore so that I could then create my own character along with the rest of the creative team since they had taken her in a different direction. But my mother has read all nine [laughs].

Did she like them?

Rutina Wesley: Yes, she loved them.

Do you think you'll eventually read them, maybe at the end of the show?

Steaming hot Mehcad Brooks has done the impossible, growing even hotter in his appearances on HBO's True Blood. MadProfessah has been ogling Mr. Brooks since 2005, when he appeared on Desperate Housewives.

Brooks is one of the best things to look at on the intriguing HBO show which is already chockful of hot man flesh. His character's name on True Blood is Eggs Benedict Talley. He has clearly been spending time in the gym and now features what looks like an "eight pack."

What I like most about him is his smile. Really!

Lafayette swamp rocker’s career gets new ‘blood’

From the Advocate

After making swamp-rock and -pop for years with his band, the Lafayette Marquis, as well as Acadiana super-group Lil’ Band O’ Gold, C.C. Adcock is getting the greatest mainstream exposure of his career through a song featured on the recently released True Blood soundtrack CD.

Adcock’s “Bleed 2 Feed,” the first single from the soundtrack, is infiltrating rock radio. The soundtrack album, too, has sold an impressive 50,000 copies and the newly launched second season of True Blood, that racy HBO series about vampires in rural Louisiana, is drawing big ratings.

Adcock and the Lafayette Marquis appeared in episode 10 of True Blood’s first season. Playing themselves, they performed five songs at Merlottes, the bar where main character Sookie Stackhouse works. There’s also a “Bleed 2 Feed” music video.

“I’ve always been in the cracks, between the lines, so to have something played at rock radio is kind of funny for me,” Adcock said from Lafayette this week. “But it’s on the strength of the show, and maybe the strength of the song.”

Adcock, knowing that True Blood creator and executive producer Alan Ball was already interested in his music, wrote “Bleed 2 Feed” specifically for the show.

True Blood's appeal ? Ghastly ghoul and familiar fiend

From the Daily Texan (UT Texas) Gooo Texas !

People find vampires and fantasy comforting during periods of turmoil

When hard times have the world by the throat, one UT distinguished teaching associate professor says people turn to an unlikely hero — the vampire.

Tom Garza, chair of the Slavic studies department — who has served as a vampire expert for projects ranging from a History Channel special to the 2007 horror film “30 Days of Night,” — points to the global recession as the driving force behind the rise of the “undead” in pop culture.

“Anytime we get into a period of strife — that can be economic recession, war, culture wars or any combination of those — we, as a human organism, tend to want to retreat into a safe world of fantasy or extreme fiction,” Garza said. “The vampire story comes out, the zombie story comes out — any kind of revenant story. The idea of coming back from the dead is a positive idea, the notion that we will survive this, we will get through this.”

He sited a rash of vampire stories over the last five years, from the “Twilight” and “True Blood” series to foreign films like 2008’s “Let The Right One In,” as a coping mechanism for the general public. The second season premiere of “True Blood,” which aired earlier this month, was the most-watched HBO original program since “The Sopranos” finale in 2007. When the “Twilight” movie hit theaters last November, it enjoyed the biggest opening weekend ever for a vampire film.

Jace Everett talks new album, 'True Blood'

from usaweekend

While you may think that’s Chris Isaak’s unmistakable voice crooning the rockabilly-tinged theme song for HBO’s hit vampire drama True Blood, it’s not. That would be Jace Everett, the bluesy singer-songwriter behind Bad Things. The song’s been such a hit since True Blood debuted last year that Everett, 37, has become the No. 1 indie Americana artist on MySpace, with more than 4 million total streams of his songs. Between True Blood’s second season starting earlier this month and Everett releasing his third album, Red Revelations, on Tuesday, it’s been a busy time for a man who counts Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Tom Waits, U2 and Roger Miller on his short list of heroes. Our Stephanie Ostroff interviewed Everett yesterday so click read more to find out about the up-and-coming singer, and check out this video of him performing Bad Things on The Tonight Show.

9th Annual Fairy & Human Relations Congress

9th Annual Fairy & Human Relations Congress
June 26 - 28, 2009
Skalitude Retreat Center ~ Twisp ~ Methow Valley ~ North Cascades ~ WA

The Fairy & Human Relations Congress is an event that attracts about 250 people held in the north central Cascades in Washington State. Our mission is to increase communication and co-creation between humans and nature.

"The Fairy Congress is not a New Age forum event. It’s about Doing, Joining, Sharing, looking to the future. In a collapsing world economy, Fairy Congress gives us an idea of another way of living, another way of thinking. Some of it comes from ancestral wisdom, some from new human visions of departing from the greed of commercial modernism. Fairy Congress is an Idealist event, a Visionary event, and an event buoyant with hope and friendship."

True Blood behind the scenes: Marcia de Rousse as Dr Ludwig in Episode 3

We meet Dr Ludwig in Living Dead in Dallas,,,

Pam came in then, with the doctor. If I had hoped Eric meant a regular doctor, like a stethoscope and tongue depressor kind of person, I was once again doomed to disappointment. This doctor was a dwarf, who hardly had to bend over to look me in the eyes.Bill hovered, vibrating with tension, while the small woman examined my wounds. She was wearing a pair of white pants and a tunic, just like doctors at the hospital; well, just like doctors used to, before they started wearing that green color, or blue, or whatever crazy print came their way. Her face was full of her nose, and her skin was olive. Her hair was golden brown and coarse, incredibly thick and wavy. She wore it clipped fairly short. She put me in mind of a
hobbit. Maybe shewas a hobbit. My understanding of reality had taken several raps to the head in the past few months.
"What kind of doctor are you?" I asked, though it took some time for me to collect myself enough."The healing kind," she said in a surprisingly deep voice. "You have been poisoned."...
Again, a sense of movement in the room. Dr. Ludwig bent forward and began licking my back. I
shrieked.
"She's the doctor, Sookie," Bill said. "She will heal you this way."

Buffy / True Blood role Playing Games

A Buffy the Vampire Season 8, True Blood, & Angel Season 5 Role Playing Game

Hundreds, maybe thousands of girls made the choice. Through the power of the scythe, they were instilled with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness. Only one problem: vampires have "come out of the coffin" and made their presence known to the world. Killing them is now punishable by law, whether you're human or vampire. So, what do these thousands of girls with vampire slaying skills do now?

Many of them, especially the charismatic, powerful leader, Buffy Summers, is seen as a terrorist to the government. Vampires have made their presence known, but who or what are slayers? VTV, a popular TV network, featuring Harmony's popular reality show "Harmony Bites" makes slayers out to be the bad guys (more accurately, girls). So, not only is the government after the Slayers, but vampires are, too, only in a more private capacity. But, there are some vampires, especially vampire sheriffs, like Eric Northman, who want to use people with certain slayer "skills" to take care of vampire-related problems. Therefore, slayers can still use their skills in a bounty hunting capacity, once again ingraining their terrorist label.

On the other side of the country, an evil law firm in Los Angeles, of which clueless Angel and his friends are working for and think they're in charge of, helped orchestrate the new vampire laws in order to keep half of its clientele safe. Angel, being a vampire himself, signed the forms to help pass it along, not understanding the repercussions for Slayers, thus building an even bigger gap between Angel, his friends, and the Scoobies.

Meanwhile, in Bon Temps, Louisiana, a young telepathic waitress named Sookie Stackhouse meets her first vampire, Bill, after saving him from Drainers (people who sell the highly addictive vampire blood on the black market). Both Bill and Sookie are intrigued by one another, but must deal with the small town persecution, especially from Sookie's coworkers, her boss, Sam, her brother, Jason, and her best friend, Tara.

However, a dark power is rising in the south. A new Hellmouth is born in the heart of Louisiana; New Orleans. Hearing this news, Buffy and her friends head there to keep an eye on things, and mostly, to stay out of the public eye. What better way to hide than in, what they think, is the middle of nowhere? Little do they know, Louisiana has become a hub for vampire activity. The scars still visible on her neck, Buffy is immediately labeled a "fangbanger," but at least no one knows that she's the Slayer. Or so she thinks.

True Blood Epsiode 3 "Scratches " sneak video

This is what we've been waiting for since we saw it at the Paley in April...

True Blood - Latest from Kristin

Lily in Santa Monica, Calif.: When does Evan Rachel Wood show up as the queen on True Blood?
We have to wait a bit to see Evan Rachel Wood as True Blood's 400-year-old lesbian vampire queen Sophie-Anne. She's slated to appear in episodes 11 and 12 on Aug. 30 and Sept. 6, respectively, and sources tell us, "She may appear in future episodes next season."

Stacy in Cheshire, Conn.: What happens with Lafayette on True Blood?
This Sunday, Sookie (Anna Paquin) discovers that Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) has been keeping Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) in his basement and freaks out on him. Naturally. In exchange for Lafayette's release, Sookie agrees to head to Dallas to find some missing vampires. She doesn't end up going alone: Bill and Jessica accompany her.

Brad in Memphis, Tenn.: What else can you tell us about the new supernatural creature that appears on True Blood this season?
We can tell you that the creature appears in the June 28 episode and brutally attacks Sookie (Anna Paquin). It's got a bull head, a half animal, half human body, gnarly claws and is poisonous like a Komodo dragon. And it almost kills Sookie. But Eric and Bill (Stephen Moyer) team to help make her as good as new. Oh, and we soon find out the murdered voodoo lady from the first episode of the season was a victim of this same creature.

"True Blood: The Complete First Season" DVD has sold an astonishing 1 million copies

By Maxine Shen

THE "True Blood: The Complete First Season" DVD has sold an astonishing 1 million copies, proving that HBO really does have a hit show on its hands.

In the four weeks since its release, the five-disc box set has netted $35 million in total sales according to the-numbers.com.

This puts it in the No. 1 spot for TV DVD sales for the week of June 14. Coming in at a distant second is the fourth season DVD of "Weeds," with 334,000 copies moved after two weeks of sales. Interest in "True Blood," which stars Anna Paquin as a mind-reading waitress in love with a vampire (played by real-life love Stephen Moyer), is at an all-time high now.

Even with the last game of the NBA Finals as timeslot competition, last Sunday's episode of the sex- and blood-filled series reached 3.4 million viewers, representing a drop of only 300,000 from its second season premiere airing on June 14.

The average 3.7 million people who tuned in to the "True Blood" season premiere at 9 p.m. - coupled with an additional 1.4 million viewers for the 11 p.m. encore - made it the most-watched original airing of an HBO show since the 2007 series finale of "The Sopranos."

Eric Northman some of our favorite book outfits ...

Just thought you needed some fun ;-)

Navy Blue Silk Boxers

Bk3 Club Dead

The next thing I knew, I was awake. I was tucked in the bed, lying on my back, my formerly beautiful dress removed. I was still wearing my beige lace underwear, which was good.
Eric was in the bed with
me, which was not. He was really making a habit of this. He was lying on his side, his arm draped over me, one leg thrown over mine. His hair was tangled with my hair, and the strands were almost indistinguishable, the color was so similar. I contemplated that for a while, in a sort of misty, drifting state.
Eric was having downtime. He was in that absolutely immobile state into which vampires retreat when they have nothing else to do. It refreshes them, I think, reduces the wear and tear of the world that ceaselessly passes them by, year after year, full of war and famine and inventions that they must learn how to master, changing mores and conventions and styles that they must adopt in order to fit in. I pulled down the covers to check out my side. I was still in pain, but it was greatly reduced. There was a large circle of scar tissue on the site of the wound. It was hot and shiny and red and somehow glossy.
"It's much better," Eric said, and I gasped. I hadn't felt him rouse from his suspended animation.
Eric was wearing silk boxers. I would have figured him for a Jockey man.
"Thank you, Eric." I didn't care for how shaky I sounded, but an obligation is an obligation.
"For what?" His hand gently stroked my stomach.
"For standing by me in the club. For coming here with me. For not leaving me alone with all these people."
"How grateful are you?" he whispered, his mouth hovering over mine. His eyes were very alert now, and his gaze was boring into mine.
"That kind of ruins it, when you say something like that," I said, trying to keep my voice gentle. "You shouldn't want me to have sex with you just because I owe you."
"I don't really care why you have sex with me, as long as you do it," he said, equally gently. His mouth was on mine then.

Red bikini underwear
Bk 4 dead to the World

With not a hint of a leer or any other indication that he was enjoying this development, Eric shimmied out of the jeans. I tossed them onto the back porch to wash in the morning, trying not to gape at my guest, who was now clad in underwear that was definitely over-the-top, a bright red bikini style whose stretchy quality was definitely being tested. Okay, another big surprise. I'd seen Eric's underwear only once before-which was once more than I ought to have-and he'd been a silk boxers guy. Did men change styles like that?
Without preening, and without comment, the vampire rewrapped his white body in the afghan. Hmmm. I was now convinced he wasn't himself, as no other evidence could have convinced me. Eric was way over six feet of pure magnificence (if a marble white magnificence), and he well knew it.

Black Silk Pajama bottoms
Bk 7 All Together Dead
I slapped him harder than I've ever hit anyone in my life. I screamed, "Get up!" until my voice would hardly work. Finally Eric stirred and managed to sit up. He was wearing black silk pajama bottoms, thank God, and I spied the ceremonial black cloak tossed over his coffin. He hadn't returned it to Quinn, which was huge luck. I arranged it over him and fastened it at the neck. I pulled the hood over his face. "Cover your head!" I yelled, and I
heard a burst of noise above my head: shattering glass, followed by shrieks.
