True Blood' trickles to Germany

BERLIN -- The southern Gothic delights of "True Blood" are finally coming to Germany. RTL II has picked up the hit HBO vampire series to air early next year.
The sexually charged and violent series may pose a challenge for programmers, who will likely relegate it to latenight.
"True Blood" joins other hit U.S. genre shows on RTL II including "Dexter," "Smallville," "Battlestar Galactica," "Heroes," "Stargate," "Stargate Atlantis" and "Stargate Universe." It also runs the BBC's "Torchwood."
"True Blood," which has been airing in most other major territories for some time, was created by Alan Ball and is based on "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" book series by Charlaine Harris.
