'Being Human' Season 1 and 2 on DVD !

Being Human

Being Human is a comedy-drama series about three twenty-something housemates trying to live normal lives, despite struggling with unusual afflictions - one is a werewolf, one is a vampire and the other is a ghost. They face a human threat in the form of the mysterious Professor Jaggat and the cold-hearted Kemp. Jaggat and Kemp are fundamentalist Christians who have discovered the existence of vampires, werewolves and ghosts - and are determined to destroy them or carry out brutal experiments upon them. They believe that vampires are the Devil incarnate and must be destroyed; that werewolves contain an evil gene that can be removed by violent scientific experiments; and that ghosts must be forced over to the other side whether they like it or not.

Mitchell
Aidan Turner plays the dark and handsome Mitchell who, in contrast to George, has the gift of the gab and is very popular with the ladies. He's a vampire who has been struggling to go cold-turkey from the blood he so desperately craves. Now, in the wake of the vampire leader, Herrick's death, Mitchell must appease an out of control vampire world - can he find a way to lead by example?
The Irish-born Aidan Turner recently played Ruairi on the Ireland-based drama The Clinic. He has also appeared in an episode of the Showtime series The Tudors. Turner is set to star as Rosetti in the BBC miniseries Desperate Romantics, which is scheduled to air in the UK later this year.

George
Russell Tovey is the lovable George, battling with his double identity as a mild-mannered hospital porter who for one night a month is transformed into a flesh-hungry, predatory werewolf. This season George is coming to terms with the fact that he has Herrick's blood on his hands, and a girlfriend who knows his horrific secret.
Actor Russell Tovey rocketed to international acclaim with his role as Rudge in the West End and Broadway productions of the play The History Boys and its subsequent film adaptation. He is best-known to BBC AMERICA viewers as Budgie, Gavin and Smithy's mate on Gavin & Stacey. He has also appeared as a midshipman in the Doctor Who episode "Voyage of the Damned", guest-starred as Marcus Johnstone on Ashes To Ashes, and played John Chivery in an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Little Dorrit.

Annie
(Annie is a ghost who haunted the house that she and her fiancé, Owen shared while she was alive. At the end of last season, she turned down entering through the door of death in order to help Mitchell who had been injured, but doing so will definitely impact her current state. The good news is, her confidence is at a peak, and she's determined to stand up and be counted in the real world.
Actress Lenora Crichlow trained with the YoungBlood Theatre Company in London. Her best-known role is Maria "Sugar" Sweet in the British television series, Sugar Rush. She also appeared as Cheen in the Doctor Who episode "Gridlock".

Nina
Nina is a tough senior nurse who fell hard for George, unaware that he was hiding a dark secret. Their relationship has had its ups and downs, but now Nina has gotten much more than she bargained for when George inadvertently scratches her during a transformation and passes his werewolf curse onto her.
Actress Sinead Keenan appeared in the Irish comedy series The Cassidys back in 2001. She also currently stars in the British sitcom Moving Wallpaper as naïve personal assistant Kelly Hawkins. She also appeared as Addams in the Doctor Who episode The End of Time, Parts One and Two.

Lucy

Lucy and Mitchell met while working at the hospital and they became romantically involved. However, is Lucy really what she seems? And what will happen when her true identity is revealed?
The British-born Lyndsey has appeared in the feature film The Hours, and in the HBO series, Rome.

Vampire craze sucks in female fans

Sound familiar ?

Yvonne Pastor never thought twice about vampires. Then one Saturday night she was bored and flipping through the TV. She stopped at HBO, on which a rerun of "True Blood" was showing.
"When it first started airing, I thought I wasn't going to waste my time watching a stupid vampire show," the city of Phoenix employee recalls. "But then I watched that one, and I was hooked. I spent the rest of the weekend watching the other episodes on Cox on Demand."
Pastor is not the only woman who has succumbed to the vampire's bite. Though it's been hanging around for more than 100 years, the genre today is as fresh as a shirtless 20-something, with shaved chest gleaming in the moonlight. And since that also describes many a contemporary bloodsucker, it's no wonder vampires are mesmerizing a growing number of female fans.

Nathan Barr’s True Blood Montage

Guillermo Del Toro Says 'The Fall' Vampires ' the blood-suckers in his novel 'won't take you to dinner. You will be dinner.'

Guillermo del Toro is a jolly fellow. You'll be 20 minutes into a conversation filled with jokey repartee and his self-deprecating asides, and you'll think: This is the guy who unleashed a swarm of killer cockroaches on a city full of children in "Mimic"?

Then, suddenly, a fuse will blow in the studio, and as your crew scrambles to re-light the set, del Toro will say, with a mix of charm and do-not-cross-me gravity, "My DP would punch you!"

But his director of photography is nowhere to be seen, nor are plague-laden roaches, and all soon returns to normal. Del Toro is here to chat about "The Fall," the second book in his trilogy (co-written with Chuck Hogan), about a parasitic epidemic turning a city's population into blood-sucking vampires. It's grim material, no doubt, but the director-turned-novelist talks ebulliently, almost from start to finish, about the book, its influences and its development.
