Racine's 'True Blood' star Kristin Bauer protests animal-tested cosmetics

"True Blood" star, and Racine native Kristin Bauer is taking an international stand against cosmetics testing on animals.
She's written a letter to John Dalli, the European Union's Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, asking that the European Commission stick to a deadline that will ban the marketing of animal-tested cosmetics.
The ban is set to go into effect in the EU in 2013, but some cosmetic companies are pressuring the EU to postpone it.
The letter reads, in part: "I join the many EU citizens and others worldwide who are concerned that delaying this ban will cause many thousands of animals to suffer and die to test blush and body lotions."
"Kristin is really passionate about animal related issues, and that's why she wrote the letter,” according to Jessica Frost, a spokeswoman for Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, which released Bauer's letter.
