Dead in the Family cover released ( finally ) by Charlaine

I know we've all seen it since Penguin released it in the Holiday Author video on December 10th but it's nice to see a nice crisp image ...

I hesitate to say when we can expect the 1st chapter - last year the chapter was put up a few days later but I'm not going to even guess this year since nothing has been the same ( the cover was posted before Thanksgiving last year).

That's why we have postponed the "Dead in the Family " blogtalk radio show - it looked like to us that the chapter wouldn't not be released in time for tonight's show ...

We will reschedule !! Stay tunes to this vamp channel!

Crystal Norris is cast

And the powers-that-be behind HBO's popular series True Blood still aren't done filling out the character roster for Season Three. Today another new female was added, one named Crystal Norris, who shares an "electric connection" with Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten).

According to The Hollywood Reporter Crystal, a beautiful "barefoot, sundress-wearing woman", will be portrayed by Lindsay Pulsipher, whom genre buffs will likely recognize from the Masters of Horror episode "The Fair Haired Child". Most recently she's been in A&E's The Beast.

In the Charlaine Harris books on which True Blood is based, Crystal is a full-blooded werepanther who is first introduced in the fourth novel and reappears throughout the storyline up until the ninth book, Dead and Gone. We'll see how much showrunner Alan Ball deviates from that formula come June, 2010, when the third season premieres.

No More Pant Suits For Sookie Stackhouse! is on Facebook

Revamp for True Blood and Charlaine goes to London

Orion’s sci-fi imprint Gollancz is to revamp Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels to tie in with the broadcast of series two of “True Blood” on FX and Channel 4 next year.

Series three is in development and is scheduled for a June start in the US.

Harris’ backlist titles about the psychic waitress’ vampire adventures will be relaunched from 11th February with a new look tying into FX’s promotional campaign for season two. The nine novels will be reissued as £6.99 paperbacks, with a black-and-white look featuring different characters from the show. The £40 eight-book boxed set will be relaunched with the new look.

Also showing off the new designs will be The True Blood Omnibus 2 (featuring titles 4-6, Dead to the World, Dead as a Doornail and Definitely Dead) to be published on 16th September as a £14.99 trade paperback; plus the new title in the series, Dead in the Family, which is published on 27th May as a £12.99 hardback, and the paperback of Dead and Gone (£6.99, 1st April).

A Touch of Dead, an illustrated collection of short stories, is due for paperback release on 19th August but will retain its hardback look.

To support the publishing bonanza, Harris will make her first UK visit on 9th and 10th March. The publisher is hoping to hold a Q&A event and a full media programme.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer returns to TV

Those familiar chords, that signature font, that full moon. Yes, Buffy is coming back to TV. No, alas, not new episodes. Reruns of all seven seasons of the cult series are coming to the Viacom-owned channels MTV and Logo next year.

Talk about wanting my MTV! (Sorry, Logo, there’s no appropriate Dire Straits songs to reference here, but I like you, too). Buffy the Vampire Slayer will air daily on both channels and mark the first time since 2008 the show has been on TV anywhere. It was previously syndication on FX from 2001 to 2008.

The show will launch New Year’s Day on Logo with an 18-hour marathon from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. EST. The starting Jan. 4 it will air weeknights at 6 and 7 p.m. and late nights at 2 and 3 a.m. It will also show at various times on the weekends. [Full disclosure: Logo owns AfterEllen.com, but trust me my excitement stems solely from my fanatical love of the show. I might or might not even own an action figure or two. I admit nothing.]

MTV will kick off their Buffy bonanza on Jan. 10 with an 8-hour marathon starting at 11 a.m. EST. Then beginning Jan. 11 it will air each morning at 11 a.m. On MTV it will be followed by reruns of Grounded for Life and Degrassi.

OK, first things first, squeee! Despite owning all 7 seasons on DVD, there is something wonderful and relaxing about being able to plop down and turn on Buffy just like any other show. And second, it’s about time. Buffy is one of those shows that should be in perpetual syndication like Seinfeld or Law & Order. Finally third, I can’t think of a better place for the series to land. Buffy fits on both MTV the music (though — who are we kidding — just young people) channel and Logo the LGBT channel. Willow and Tara still rank among my all-time favorite TV lesbian couples.

The news comes on the heels of more good news for Buffy fans. The series is casting for a series of motion-comic webisodes based on Joss Whedon’s highly successful series of “Season Eight” comics. No word on when production will start but last month they were looking for voice actors to portray Faith, Kennedy and Principal Robin Wood, as well as a bunch of new characters (including someone who sounds like actor Daniel Craig to play a character based on the James Bond star)

TrueBlood : Let's talk about Eric having sexual relations

There are alway mixed reactions to True Blood pulling far away from Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse books- some time we love it and sometimes...well, not so much.

Here is my previous post called " The Women in Eric Northman's life " What do you think about this change ?

From BuddyTV
Eric Northman, played by Alexander Skarsgard, will be engaging in a sexual relationship with a new dancer at Fangtasia, according to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello. His new squeeze is reportedly named Yvetta and will be portrayed by actress-model Natasha Alam.

Alam, who has been cast on True Blood in a potentially recurring capacity, is perhaps best known for her role on The Bold and the Beautiful as Ava. She will also be appearing in an upcoming episode of Drop Dead Gorgeous and in the movie 39.

True Blood Season 3: Who are all these new people?

Movieline really helps get all the new casting straight

True Blood already has a ridiculously sprawling cast filled with vampires, shapeshifters, were-vampires, shape-wolves, and drunken hayseeds (the most dangerous of all!), but it seems like every day brings with it a new casting notice for Season 3. Who are all these new people? Who will they be playing? And most importantly, how naked will Alan Ball make them get? Here’s Movieline’s handy-dandy guide to help you make sense of it all:
