Michelle Forbes (Maryann )Talk To Me from H

Yep, if you want to read about everything else Michelle Forbe's is doing aside from True Blood this is the article for you ...

Michelle Forbes speaks highly of her recent colleagues for their fascination with the human condition; ultimately for their ability to “get in there and be intimate with people, uncovering their deepest, darkest secrets.” She too has delved into some deep and dark characters over the years in theatre, television, and movies including Swimming with Sharks, Kalifornia,The District, Prison Break, 24, Battlestar Galactica, Homicide: Life On The Street, and Star Trek: The Next Generation and has enjoyed a diverse acting career where she explores the human psyche and spirit through intriguing characters and storylines.

With Forbe’s latest two series (both on HBO), In Treatment and True Blood, she brings us two more compelling characters: She joined True Blood late last season as Maryann, a wealthy “social worker” with an unrevealed secret power adding another layer of mystery to the town of Bon Temps, and Kate Weston from In Treatment. Kate is the repressed wife to psychotherapist Dr. Paul Weston (Gabriel Byrne); they bring their 25 year marriage under the therapy microscope with Paul’s therapist, Gina, brilliantly portrayed by Dianne Wiest. The series is gripping, and like therapy itself, you have no idea where it’s going to lead you. Gabriel Byrne’s Paul Weston is fascinating as he uncovers his patients’ struggles with piercing intuition and honest compassion as he himself hovers on the brink of an emotional crisis. Michelle Forbes tackles the role of repressed housewife with depth and grace alongside her own emotional cave-in.

Great interview of Anna Paquin by Tavis Smiley about her performance in The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler and what she learned about the real hero.

Anna Paquin

Since garnering instant fame by winning an Oscar at age 11 for her performance in The Piano, Anna Paquin has remained in the limelight with roles in numerous projects. She also has an exec producer film credit (Blue Slate) and won new fans—and a Golden Globe—for the lead in HBO's True Blood. Born in Canada and raised in New Zealand, Paquin attended Columbia University in New York, where she began working in the theater. In addition to her series, she stars in the TV biopic, The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler

Excellent 12 minute video interview:

The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler,” tonight at 8 pm CBS

Anna is doing lots of interviews before tonight's showing of The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler,” tonight at 8 pm cst on CBS. This was from the Boston Herald this morning.

Anna Paquin feels humbled by her latest project.

The actress stars as Nobel Peace Prize nominee Irena Sendler, who risked her life to rescue Jewish children during World War II, in “The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler,” tonight at 9 on WBZ (Ch. 4).

“She did an absolutely extraordinary thing, and she was so young and that’s intimidating,” Paquin said in a recent interview from Los Angeles....

Paquin is dating Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill Compton on “True Blood.”

“I have a very, very ridiculously perfect setup because usually the thing about acting and relationships is someone is on the other side of the planet,” she said. “So it’s an incredible luxury to get to spend your work time and your personal time with the person you want to be with all the time.”

True Blood Paley from the LAist

The LAist does an excellent over view of the TB Paley event.

At 5 p.m. last Tuesday, the line for the True Blood panel at PaleyFest snaked around the Cinerama Dome toward the Arclight entrance. Many of the predominantly female fans of the HBO series had been camped out since early afternoon, traveling from as far as Texas and New York.

When the program began at 7 p.m. there were only a few empty seats toward the back of the balcony. The lights dimmed and, courtesy of The Paley Center for Media (formerly the Museum of Television and Radio), a 1967 excerpt from Dark Shadows - the cheesy low-production-values vampire soap opera - ran on the screen. The audience shrieked, although not half as much as they did when the highlights reel from Season One of True Blood followed, winding up with a two-scene preview from Season Two featuring telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse in peril, her vampire boyfriend, Civil War vet Bill Compton being dunderheaded as usual, and, best of all, a scary new supernatural creature!

True Blood Paleyfest coverage from Dallas and @SookieBonTemps: Part 4

I'm using @SookieBonTemps tweets as a narrative for my Paley event photos, videos etc.
I will also add my own comments but Sook did the tweeting and I did video and photographs (because I ended up on the second row) It was so great getting to know @SookieBonTemps in person as we have been online friends since with both started doing our True Blood/ Sookie fan stuff.

We both choose to stay incognito and we are the most unlikely of all teams but I think we did a good job of covering the event together.

*Part One I HERE / Part Two 2 HERE Part 3 HERE
* It will be a 4 part series.

(*Dallas comments in parenthesis)

Skarsgard's talking about the character of Eric. Just called him a sweetheart? Kwanten is talking about throwing out the actor's handbook.

Rutina is talking about the big heart behind the big mouth. Ball is saying Michelle Forbes' character has evolved

Whole cast on stage. http://twitpic.com/3ak28

Skarsgard's talking pink leggings...said he'd look forward to it. If Ball writes it. Ball's promising big surprises. Book and nonbook.

Cambodian disco dancing and Tuvan throat singing! Moyer is a riot!

Ball believes the show has many years. Season 3 not Confirmed

Ball just described the series of a big bowl of possibilities. Someone just asked a question about nudity on show. Kwanten's not bothered

The sack of destiny = the cock sock. Skarsgard just said he's disappointed to not be naked all the time. 'Cause he's Swedish

Tara love! Ball's saying Sookie needed a pal, not just a parade of hot guys

Anna just said that where the dirt went during the graveyard sex scene wasn't a concern. Moyer's talking about bursting through the ground.

In a big black condom. LOL

Bill's Babes just got props from Ball. Asking Moyer who he'd want to play if not Bill. Said he'd love to channel is inner Lafayette.

Ball's talking about casting. Characters first, actors later. Can the actors bring the material to life?

Question about Gran. Ball says he feels blessed having to work with him.
Michael Raymond James wept during the shooting of the flashback

Ball's asking for a shameless plug: buy the DVD

Whole cast is 'fessin up to who read the books. And it's Over

Folks rushin' the stage for autographs

Pray that the pics on my camera are good! Going to dinner with @trueblooddallas, @objectdesire, @robiart and some friends.

At Kitchen24 with everyone post-Paley. http://twitpic.com/3ambz

Not sure if this pic posted! And no, I sure as heck wasn't gonna fight the horde of women rushin' the stage. http://twitpic.com/3ao1e

Folks, it's been an eventful night. Thanks for tuning in.

Loving True Blood in Dallas book suggestion: The Historian

Looking for something to read ?

How about Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian ?

Saffron on Livejournal does a nice review HERE

From Publishers Weekly:
Starred Review. Considering the recent rush of door-stopping historical novels, first-timer Kostova is getting a big launch—fortunately, a lot here lives up to the hype. In 1972, a 16-year-old American living in Amsterdam finds a mysterious book in her diplomat father's library. The book is ancient, blank except for a sinister woodcut of a dragon and the word "Drakulya," but it's the letters tucked inside, dated 1930 and addressed to "My dear and unfortunate successor," that really pique her curiosity. Her widowed father, Paul, reluctantly provides pieces of a chilling story; it seems this ominous little book has a way of forcing itself on its owners, with terrifying results. Paul's former adviser at Oxford, Professor Rossi, became obsessed with researching Dracula and was convinced that he remained alive. When Rossi disappeared, Paul continued his quest with the help of another scholar, Helen, who had her own reasons for seeking the truth. As Paul relates these stories to his daughter, she secretly begins her own research. Kostova builds suspense by revealing the threads of her story as the narrator discovers them: what she's told, what she reads in old letters and, of course, what she discovers directly when the legendary threat of Dracula looms. Along with all the fascinating historical information, there's also a mounting casualty count, and the big showdown amps up the drama by pulling at the heartstrings at the same time it revels in the gruesome. Exotic locales, tantalizing history, a family legacy and a love of the bloodthirsty: it's hard to imagine that readers won't be bitten, too.

Anna Paquin's very affordable fashion

True Blood Season Two Poster: the optical illusion community weighs in !

This is why you gotta love the internet from Mighty Optical Illusion blog ..Ha! (Biggest Optical Illusions Community Blog. Dedicated to visual phenomena and real life illusions)

For all you fans of True Blood out there, I have a little teaser for you for the upcoming second season of the HBO hit vampire show. The teaser comes in the form of a new poster for the new season which of course features a blood spill pattern, the show’s trademark image. Pay special attention though, as the poster is much more than that. At first glance, you may just see the blood but if you focus, you’ll see the silhouette of a vampire about to feed from some poor lady’s neck. This concept is based off the famous Rubin’s Face, a famous optical illusion that allows for two completely separate interpretations of the same image. When you enter the article, you'll see another example in the form of redesigned movie poster for Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. Which one did you like better?

They look at other optical illusions used in movie posters and in the past ..how great is that ?
