True Blood Gives Furries A Whole New Meaning

i09 has posted some great pros and cons from Episode 5 here are some of my favorites.

I CANNOT believe that so many reviewers don't know who these characters are . I've read 2 reviews when the reviewer wondered who that lady vamp was at the end in hallway listening to Bill and Sookie ? Umm you guys will have to crack a book.

To Meredith's credit she knew ...also Meredith hit the nail on the head for THE WORST written moment in all of True Blood. No, that would be when the whole story line went off the rail in ep 10 last year but this is #2.

The GOD AWFUL racks and balls on the pool table banter ....

Pro: Godric is pretty fantastic. This would be the first True Blood flashback that didn't make me want to claw my eyes out — the first being the Civil War slut scene between Bill and his maker. I would like to meet more of these ancient vampires, and I'm pretty sure we will this season.

Con: Oh god my ears. Just after that lovely flashback scene, you give me the balls and rack pool pun. You are better than this, Alan Ball. You can even see the disdain in the actors eyes while delivering it. It's like their skin is peeling. Just awful. See look I've already totally forgotten the things Daphne was saying about other

Pro: Maryann dressed up as the grandma, oh dear. This really made me laugh in a creepy, "Ok sure why not" kind of way. Tarahis stupid not to see through this ridiculous act. If I came home and the weird rich 40-something woman who always dressed up in beautiful dresses and jewelry was in a drab grandma dress, I would kick her the hell out immediately. At least they are attempting to make her more interesting. Let's hope this works.

Pro: Hoyt and Jessica's phone conversation. Sigh, I miss those days "really, really." This is super cute. Darn the whole star-crossed lovers nonsense, I'm rooting for these two. They are the most realistic thing on this show.

Pro: So this is Bill's ex-girlfriend, right? Okay, just checking. Not sure what else to think of her, besides that. We'll have to wait until next week, I guess. Not really the awesome cliffhanger we're used to.

Pro: Eric the viking: surprisingly masculine. They are really setting him up to just steamroll over boring Bill, aren't they?

True Blood Sucker Punch: Episode 5 from Mark Blankenship

Welcome to Sucker Punch, the only blog post that ranks the gaudiest moments on this week's episode of True Blood.

So... Are you guys excited for Turned By a Twink: The Eric Northman Story? Because after watching last night's installment, "Never Let Me Go," I'm positive that's gonna be the name of Eric's memoir.

Set in some ancient Viking forest, Eric's transformation at the hands of Godric, a ripped and barely-legal teenager with no shirt and a torso full of runic tattoos, is a homoerotic fever dream. It's also a compelling new vision of how vampires are made. We've seen Lorena turn Bill with deceitful selfishness, and we've seen Bill turn Jessica with a tidal wive of guilt. When Godric makes Eric, however, he does it with admiration. He's so impressed by Eric's warrior soul that he decides he can be a "companion of death". He bestows vampirism like a gift on a great man who is about to die.

Since Lorena rolls up in the final scene, baring her fangs when she hears Bill and Sookie hooking up in a Dallas hotel room, this episode consciously contrasts the different roads to vampirism. I don't know how that's going to play out, but for now, it's interesting to see that while some vampires are made through violence, others are made through a weird kind of love. For some people, becoming a vampire isn't a curse, but a salvation.

Wow, now I am as excited about this-almost as excited as I was about the 'Beyond here lies nothing' 2nd promotional video I posted last night ;-)

I just have to say of the hundreds and hundreds of characters we meet in Charlaine Harris's Sookieverse, Godric ( Godfrey) is one of THE most fascinating to me ...

The casting call from February read:

An ancient teenager.He was blond and shirtless, and his arms and chest were covered with blue tattoos.

In human years, he would've been about sixteen when he'd been made vampire. There was no telling how many years ago that had been. He must be older than Stan, older than Isabel. His English was clear, but heavily accented. I had no idea what kind of accent it was.Maybe his original language was not even spoken anymore. What a lonely feeling that would be.

He has pale blue eyes and is a child killer.

We had an amazing surprise visit from an actress who has been working on the set of True Blood for the last two weeks. The wonderful " Marie" called in and told us a little bit about what's it like working on the shoot and was very complimentary of the working environment on set, her fellow cast members, the principal actors and the FOOD!!!

We then took a look at episodes 5 and 6 and what we know about them from casting calls, leaked titles etc.

Hugo's betrayl of Isabel and of the Dallas vamps to FotS is not a pretty tail and does not end well for either of them ...

Book 2
"At the time, I thought if Stan Davis wanted to live on Green Valley Road, or in the Hundred-Acre Wood, that was his right as an American. So I defended him against the neighborhood association, and I won. I was real proud of myself. Then I got to know Isabel, and I took her to bed one night, feeling real daring, really the big man, the emancipated thinker."
I stared at him, not blinking or saying a word.

"As you know, the sex is great, the best. I was in thrall to her, couldn't get enough. My practice suffered.
I started seeing clients only in the afternoon, because I couldn't get up in the morning. I couldn't make my court dates in the morning. I couldn't leave Isabel after dark."
This sounded like an alcoholic's tale,to me. Hugo had become addicted to vampiric sex. I found the concept fascinating and repellent.

When we last see Isabel she is not so lovely
Except for the dark blue wall-to-wall, the room was bare. Isabel was chained to the wall on one side of the room—with silver, of course. Hugo was on the other. He was chained, too. They were both awake, and they both looked at the doorway, naturally.
Isabel nodded as if we'd met in the mall, though she was naked. I saw that her wrists and ankles were padded to prevent the silver from burning her, though the chains would still keep her weak.
Hugo was naked, too. He could not take his eyes off Isabel. He barely glanced at me to see who I was Stan said, "She cannot feed off him, though she is hungry. He cannot have sex with her, though he is addicted. This is their punishment, for months.

Stan shrugged. "Three or four months. We will feed Hugo, of course. Not Isabel."
"And then?"
"We'll unchain him first. He will get a day's head start."

Valerie looks like the perfect Isabel Beaumont- remember Isabel is the second to Stan Davis ( Sheriff of Dallas) and whose current human man is vamp lawyer, Hugo Ayers.

Valerie Cruz ("Dexter") has landed a recurring role on HBO's incredible vampire drama True Blood where she'll play Isabel, an elegant Hispanic vampire. She is repped by Artists and John Carrabino Management.

Some people think all vampires look terrifying. To me, it depends on the vampire. I remember thinking, when I first met Bill, that he looked incredibly different; but I hadn't been frightened.

The one that was waiting for us in the lobby of Silent Shores, now,she was scary. I bet she made ole Barry wet his pants. She approached after we'd checked in, as Bill was putting his credit card back in his
wallet (you just try applying for a credit card when you're a hundred sixty years old; that process had been abear) and I sidled a little closer to him as he tipped Barry, hoping she wouldn't notice me.

"Yes." Vampires don't shake hands, but the two made eye contact and gave each other a curt nod.
"This is the woman?" She had probably gestured toward me with one of those lightning quick
movements, because I caught a blur from the corner of my eyes.
"This is my companion and coworker, Sookie Stackhouse," Bill said.

After a moment, she nodded to show she was picking up the hint. "I am Isabel Beaumont," she said,
"and after you take your luggage to your room and take care of your needs, you are to come with me."
Bill said, "I have to feed."
Isabel swiveled an eye toward me thoughtfully, no doubt wondering why I wasn't supplying blood for my escort, but it was none of her business. She said, "Just punch the telephone button for room service."

True Blood Season 2 Possible Title Song: Ep. 5 " Never Let Me Go"

This is exciting ! We now (might)know the titles of the first 5 episodes of True Blood for Season 2.
Now the one thing we know about True Blood is that the episode names come from the a song used in and that it is somehow significant to that episode.

Episode 2.01 - Nothing but the Blood

Episode 2.05 - Never Let Me Go

Now, this is only my guess, I just research the various songs with the leaked title and come up with a song I think it might be.

The obvious choice here for the Episode 5 title song is probably the very famous Curtis Mayfield love song "Never Let Me Go" and I'll also include a video of it below too. I was digging around and I found another interesting song and it's from a crunk band and I thought it would be great to talk about crunk.

So another possibility for " Never Let Me Go " could be from the Family Force Five. Family Force 5 (often abbreviated FF5, formerly known as The Phamily and The Brothers) is a crunk rock band from Atlanta, Georgia.

The three leading members of the band are sons of Jerome Olds, a Christian artist from the late 1980s. Prior to the formation of Family Force 5, the brothers were also members of a "boy band" known as The Brothers.

I'm always looking for interesting southern connections for True Blood music and FFF is described as a crunk band. Crunk is a style of music which originated from southern hip hop and electronic dance music in the early 1990's.
Webster's Dictionary defines "crunk" as a "word of fluctuating meaning used during the 1990s in lyrics of the rap groups OutKast and Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz, a style of Southern rap music featuring repetitive chants and rapid dance rhythms."
