True Blood Season 5 Episode 1 " Turn, turn turn" : ‘True Blood’ Season 5 Scoop: Kristin Bauer Reveals ‘Major Fork In The Road’

HollywoodLife.com chatted with Pam herself about next summer’s big premiere — find out what made her gasp!

True Blood‘s fifth season premiere is still more than six months away, but Kristin Bauer Van Straten says the first scripts have already been sent out — and they’re good. ”I just read the script, we got it yesterday,” Kristin told HollywoodLife.com on Oct. 26 while promoting her appearance on the Oct. 30 episode of ABC’s Once Upon A Time. “I saw it come into my e-mail box and it said ‘script 501′ and I literally [gasped.]”

News of the premiere’s title, “Turn, Turn, Turn,” broke that same day — and Kristin says it couldn’t be more appropriate.

True Blood’s CAMPY VAMP, Pam, Kristin Bauer van Straten

I RELATE TO MY CHARACTER, PAM…… BELIEVE IT OR NOT
Frighteningly, more and more I relate to Pam (laughs). I start going, ‘Wow, she’s actually making sense to me.’ It’s fascinating. I feel like, ‘Oh my God, this makes total sense if I were a vampire,’ so if I were taken out of having to worry about aging, money (they always seem to have money), and also they are out of the constraints of society so they can be any sexuality, which is very fun. Plus, you don’t have to worry about death, so without all those issues, who would we be? So much of my life, well, pretty much my entire life, those are the things I think about. That’s 95 percent of where my attention goes with those topics. So then who would I be? It’s an interesting question

Kristin Bauer van Straten Exclusive Interview TRUE BLOOD

On the HBO vampire series True Blood, actress Kristin Bauer van Straten plays fan favorite character Pam. As the offspring and primary aide of Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard), her lethal instinct and keen fashion sense have made her a force to be reckoned with, and one of the most quoted characters on the show. With her Maker currently suffering from amnesia and her face rotting with no sign of repair, thanks to some nasty spells from a witch coven, Season 4 has had some crazy twists and turns for Pam, which are sure to get even crazier, as things head toward the season finale.
During a recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, Kristin Bauer van Straten talked about following her instincts when it comes to playing Pam, what it’s like to be remembered for her great one-liners rather than the nude scenes that much of the other cast has been known to do, how she still hasn’t gotten completely used to talking with the fangs, how much fun it’s been to explore a whole new side to Pam and her relationship with Eric, and how she can’t wait to get to work on Season 5 and learn about her character’s genesis in becoming a vampire. Check out what she had to say after the jump:

True Blood’s Scene-Stealer As Pam, the bitchy vampire, Kristin Bauer van Straten .

has walked off with the drama’s best lines and many of its scenes

True Blood’s resident bitch on wheels, the 100-year-old vampire Pam, may be many things—bloodthirsty, ruthless, and sartorially blessed, among them—but a crier is not the first thing that comes to mind.
Yet, Kristin Bauer van Straten, who plays Pam on the hit HBO supernatural drama, admitted that she’s prone to tearing up.
“I’m warning you: I get weepy a lot,” said Bauer van Straten, sipping a green-tea soy latte at Priscilla’s, a coffee shop in the San Fernando Valley’s Toluca Lake. “You’ll get used to it.”

10 Best 'True Blood' One-Liners From Vamp Diva Pam

Finally, True Blood writers seem to have figured out what the rest of us did several seasons ago: Pam deserves some serious props. As Eric's protege, Pam (played by Kristin Bauer) has been the go-to character for dry, dastardly wit, and this season our favorite bad girl is moving out of the shadows and into the -- well, not spotlight, exactly, but you know what I mean.
What's fabulous about Pam is that she gets such an unabashed kick out of being evil. Pam has none of the lame vampire-guilt Bill carries around; she's even less of a human being than Eric. And why not? Hell, if you're gonna be a vampire, might as well be a vampire. Plus, Pam's take-no-prisoners, tell-it-like-it-is style has resulted in some of the best one-liners (not to mention two- and three-liners) ever, on True Blood or any other show in the history of time. Seriously.
I absolutely can't wait to hear what Pam has to say this week. In the meantime, my Top 10 Favorite Pam Quotes:

Did I miss something? Are we girls now? Did we join a book club and read some queer chick lit memoirs and are bound together by sisterhood or estrogen or some other feminist drivel

Kristin Bauer van Straten Sharpens Her Fangs On "True Blood"

The sweet yet lethal Pam De Beaufort is portrayed by the very lovely and less lethal Kristin Bauer van Straten on the favorite show of yours and mine, "True Blood." She puts the fangs away long enough for us to give her a message from her co-star Alexander Skarsgard and to hear about the only time she may be lethal is behind the wheel of a car. It's all in fun. Hosted by Oliver Trevena.

Kristin Bauer as Pam on "True Blood."

Ha- I really can't believe the physical transformation that Skarsgard if pulling off with Eric this season, by changing his facial expressions, walk and physical stoop. Amazing ...real acting

As the voice of pure vampire on HBO's True Blood, Pam gets to say and do things on the show that others wouldn’t. She doesn’t care if she offends someone and isn’t interested in playing any reindeer games with the American Vampire League’s Nan Flanagan (Jessica Tuck) and her mainstreaming movement. She’s true vampire through and through and that means being bloodthirsty, loyal to her maker, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), and being fabulous.

The Hollywood Reporter spoke to Kristin Bauer, who plays Pam, about the challenges her character will face this season with Eric’s amnesia and the relationships she will or won’t develop with the other women of True Blood.

THR: We’re seeing that Pam isn’t quite into the vampire politics.

Kristin Bauer: Right. It’s very fun to find out this year that she’s not a strategist. She really is the least apologetic of anybody about being a vampire it seems. She’s just not a team player. She feels that this whole thing is ridiculous. She’s a reactor. She can't think two steps ahead, which of course is what is needed now in this post-Russell Edgington world. She’s smart, but doesn’t want to be in charge of making the bigger decisions. You know, Eric has patience. He can work angles. It was a thousand years or something to track down Russell Edgington last year. He bided his time and hung out with him and, you know, had a love scene with his lover. He can really play the game and he knows Pam can't. He doesn’t expect her to and doesn’t ask her to. It’s kind of an amazing perfect relationship.

True Blood Season 4 : Summer of Pam

KRISTIN BAUER X390 (HBO) | ADVOCATE.COMReturning as Pam, True Blood’s bitchy vampire lesbian, Kristin Bauer van Straten talks season 4 spoilers, on-screen nudity, and Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.

“I’m in no mood for lesbian weirdness tonight, Pam,” said Sookie Stackhouse in response to Pam’s flirtation last season, but we’re always in the mood for Kristin Bauer van Straten’s scene-stealing performance as True Blood’s most stylish vampire. Risking the wrath of secretive gay series creator Alan Ball, the 44-year-old actress sinks her teeth into the subject of Pam’s sexuality, takes a bite out of her backstory, and shares a taste of her exciting new storyline in the fourth season, which premieres June 26 on HBO.

Kristin Bauer van Straten: The witches prove to be pretty creative enemies

Although her candy-color coated outside is incredibly delicious, Kristin Bauer van Straten promises that the fourth season of "True Blood" will strip away Pam's shell and show the world just what she's made of.
Part of that will present itself early in the season as Eric loses his memory, forcing Pam to step up at Fangtasia and within the vampire hierarchy. But her mettle will truly be tested later this season as .... well, I don't know. This is "True Blood" after all and spoilers are avoided by the cast like the plague.
What I can tell you is that Kristin reveals this season will show every character in such a drastically different light, you may be swapping favorites and crushes faster than Sookie Stackhouse!
PopWrap: What excited you coming into season four?
Kristin Bauer van Straten: I found out fairly early on that Pam is getting her own crazy storyline this season, which ramps up in the middle of the season. That was very exciting for me because I knew that it would show everyone a different side of Pam, which is a bit of a challenge for me, but also so great.

'True Blood' Star Kristin Bauer Takes Us Inside the Wonderfully Wicked World of Pam

Bon Temps is full of baddies, but vampire Pam has been one of the most terrifying -- and consistently funny -- characters on HBO's 'True Blood' (Season 4 premieres Sun., June 26 at 9PM). We have actress Kristin Bauer to thank for that.

A background character who's stolen almost every scene she's been in, Bauer told AOL TV that this is Pam's year to shine.

"This year, the main thing that I felt was that I got to play her really edgy. It's a really different side of Pam. We haven't seen it, we've suspected it, but she hasn't been unleashed ever. This year I feel is her most raw."

Witches come to Bon Temps and turn Pam's world upside-down, but Bauer told us we'll see Pam get in on the action with a fighting style that resembles that of a "feral monkey."

'True Blood' scoop: Pam's ready for a witch hunt-video

Making a rare appearance in daylight at the Emmys, True Blood-sucker Kristin Bauer told me that she’s more than ready for what I’ve already dubbed “the season of the witch.” In fact, though her iceberg-lettuce-cool character spent much of this season being tortured and crying type-O-neg tears, she promises that before the finale, we’ll get to see Pam… Well, she describes it better than I could. Or at least less profanely. See for yourself in the video after the jump.

Vamp Kristin Bauer Stays Thin With Carbs

Kristin Bauer wasn't kidding when she told reporters earlier this year that "heads will roll" on 'True Blood.' But more dark secrets will be emerging about her character's relationship with Eric, as life-or-death consequences take center stage.

"Vampires are hard to kill, but there are a lot more efforts in that direction and Pam will be right in the middle of it," Bauer tells PopEater. "Eric is put into a very dire situation with a huge physical and emotional conflict. We'll find out how deep Eric & Pam's relationship is, what her role is in his life and what lengths she'll go to defend and save him. When characters are really pushed to their limits and tested, we find out who they really are."

And viewers haven't seen the last of Pam's midriff-baring latex outfits -- even if the costumes have taken a toll on the actress' body image. "I realized as long as I'm in this business, I'm going to be hungry," Bauer says of her dieting regimen.

True Blood’s Kristin Bauer on Playing Pam

kristin-bauer-main.jpgFor the perfect example of someone who can do a lot with just a little, just check out True Blood’s scene stealer Kristin Bauer. As Pam, the stylish second-in-command vampire to Bon Temps big shot Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), it often falls to Bauer to swan into a scene, casually toss off the episode’s best lines, and leave a lasting impression in just a few minutes. She talked to Movieline about how she does it.
Pam is such a huge fan favorite. Are you aware of how much people like her?
You know, I’ve been hearing that, but there’s really no way for the actor to have a good feeling for that. Right now, I’m in my house doing my to-do list because we’re leaving the country for a month, I’m answering emails, I went and got groceries today…somehow, there’s no way for that [fan attention] to get into your cells! It’s so nice to hear, and it’s definitely a product of how amazing the show’s creators are, and the wardrobe. It’s a big collaboration to create such a great character, so it doesn’t feel like I’m walking around like, “Aren’t I wonderful?

Video: 'True Blood's' Kristin Bauer says Pam's storyline gets even more dire

Good interview.. ( they are far and few between!)

Kristin Bauer talks Pam

For an actor, there's obvious appeal in playing a supporting character. Aside from the reduced time commitment, there's less pressure since the project doesn't ride on their shoulders and are typically given the best lines. So when a show upgrades a fan favorite from recurring to full time -- as "True Blood" did with vampire Pam for season three -- there is some fan fear involved.
Mostly we worry everything we loved about the character will be thrown out the window in order to create a three dimensional person. But once again "True Blood" proves itself to be unflappable since they've been able to retain everything we adored about Kristin Bauer's character while also giving us what we never knew we always wanted -- more.
More pink, more one-liners and more of a grasp on who this woman truly is. After coming out of the series regular gate like a champ, we caught up with Kristin to find out where Pam is headed this season, if she'll be doing it in a pastel shade and why she had to taunt us with stories of naked Alexander Skarsgard.
Note: PopWrap is teaming up with HBO for a fantastic fan-focused online event on Sunday June 20 at 9pm. Details below!
PopWrap: Not trying to be biased, but I think Pam had some of the best scenes in Sunday's season premiere.
Kristin Bauer: It’s been like that all season. I get an email saying, “the script’s coming” and I stay home to read them immediately. And every single script that came was a new reveal about who Pam is and that has been endlessly fun. The sarcasm has stayed and the great outfits have stayed, but they’ve added this other layer where we actually find out who she is, how deep her relationship with Eric is, sexually who she is, how tough she is, how loyal she is and it’s incredibly fun.

An interview with Kristin Bauer

After Ellen by Trish Bendix

On the first two seasons of HBO's True Blood, Kristin Bauer showed up sparingly as Pam, the side kick to vampire mayor Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and co-owner of Fangtasia. Her devil-may-care attitude, witty quips and killer fashion sense had fans hoping they'd get to see more of her amongst the Sookie and Bill, Sam and Tara and other intense storylines.

Last year, it was announced that Kristin would become a series regular on the show, and Truebies rejoiced, as Pam is a huge part of the books the show is based on, and it also happens Pam becomes omnisexual, if not fully lesbian, around age 200.

True Blood: True Blood: Season 2 Blu-ray Character Perspective - Pam (HBO)

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Eric's sidekick Pam on "True Blood" is getting a promotion.

Eric's sidekick Pam on "True Blood" is getting a promotion.

Kristin Bauer, who plays blonde vampire Pam, Eric's (Alexander Skarsgard) wingwoman at vampire bar Fangtasia, has been promoted to regular on the HBO series.

Bauer had guest starred on Alan Ball's vampire drama for the first two seasons, appearing in a total of 11 episodes.

Ball recently hinted that may have a meaty story line in store for Pam for Season 3 when she may get into a lesbian relationship.

Bauer, who most recently co-starred on the CBS drama pilot "House Rules," is repped by the Paul Kohner Agency and Kritzer/Levine/Wilkins/Griffin.

It's a busy casting time at "True Blood," which started production on the third season last week.

Denis O'Hare and Marshall Allman have been tapped as new regulars and Theo Alexander and Grant Bowler as recurring, with a slew of other roles yet to be cast.
