Late-night programming on HBO, Showtime and Cinemax has flourished by featuring cheap-to-produce nude romps, and now cable's mainstream shows are stepping up the sex.
There's one sector of the entertainment industry that has not been roiled by the Internet, the economy or ever-changing consumer tastes. Say hello to Hollywood's most stable business: Soft-core pornography.
The oft-mocked genre, which has given the world such memorable fare as "Witches of Breastwick" and "Tarzeena: Jiggle in the Jungle," is more visible — and valuable — than ever, even at a time when hard-core adult entertainment is easily accessible on every media device. Premium-cable TV networks such as HBO, Showtime and Cinemax — the channel nicknamed "Skin-emax" for its preponderance of sexy programming — continue to fill their late-night schedules with low-budget, nudity-filled films, and the adoption of video-on-demand and pay-per-view services has given soft-core content wider play. Several of the premium channels offer prominently displayed inventories of erotic entertainment via VOD, where there's no shortage of choices in the "After Hours" or "Midnight Movies" sections.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m super-psyched for Season 3 of the HBO series True Blood. (The many emails we’ve received requesting an article on the show makes me think you probably are, too!) The show always keeps me on the edge of my seat and has something for everyone– action, romance, comedy and of course, plenty of vampires!
For those who are unfamiliar with the premise of the show, it goes like this: vampires have made their existence known to humans worldwide. The series centers on the town of Bon Temps, Louisiana and Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress with telepathic powers.
Even though she’s a small town girl, Sookie (played by Anna Paquin) has an enviable wardrobe for every occasion– whether she’s serving drinks at Merlotte’s or winning the heart of a vampire named Bill.
So to tide you over until the season premiere on June 13th, here’s how to add some Sookie Stackhouse style to your wardrobe:
Yoiu can win a prize that's True-ly fang-tastic - a five night stay in New Orleans and a copy of TRUE BLOOD on DVD!
To celebrate today's release of the complete second season of the vamp series, we're giving you the chance to win a holiday in the stunning city where all the drama takes place!
One lucky reader will win two return flights to New Orleans and a stay in the beautiful Saint Louis Hotel in the French Quarter, courtesy of our pals at New Orleans Conventions and Visitors Bureau and HBO Home Entertainment.
Clothes fall to the floor almost as often as blood spatters the walls in the show that blends supernatural horror, sex and mystery.

To get you all whipped up into a frenzy over the August Sci Fi Magazine and my articles with Rutina Wesley, Alan Ball and Denis O'Hare of True Blood, here's a little treat.
I promised you an interview teaser with True Blood's big bad this season, Denis O'Hare, who is playing Russell Edgington, the Vampire King of Mississippi. He's a truly charming guy, and I could have talked to him all day long.
Most of the following quotes are not in the magazine. Nope, there's a whole bunch of different quotes for the article...
KATHIE: I understand you are going to be a regular on the show.
DENIS: I am. I don’t know what that means in terms how long I’ll be around [laughs]. But you know what, I’m around this year. I’m a regular this year.
KATHIE: Have you read the book series?
DENIS O'HARE: I’ve read a bunch of them. I think I’ve read three of them. Is that a bunch? The thing is I don’t think we shoot very closely to the books.
Dallas had dinner Saturday night with Charlaine Harris at a Mexican food restaurant here in Dallas.
You get a chance to win a book mark and signed "Dead in the Family "bookplate from Charlaine if you can guess what she ordered?
Just think common Mexican restaurant menu items ...
Post your guesses in the comments.
Here is a photo from dinner, I will post others later today - if you look at the bottom of the photo you'll see my iPad laying on the table -that's where I was sitting.
