'True Blood' EP Defends Bill: 'He was Sookie's First Love'

"It's a very recent first love that was very, very deep," Alexander Woo tells THR.In many ways, the last episode of HBO’s True Blood made some pivotal plot turns. At the top of that list of developments includes the return of Eric’s (Alexander Skarsgard) memory and what that means for the love triangle involving Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer).

“It felt like a good time because Sookie and Eric have gotten as close as… well, probably as they can get in this short period of time,” executive producer and writer, Alexander Woo, tells The Hollywood Reporter about the choice to restore Eric’s memory.
“This was the time for this roadblock where he gets his identity back,” Woo continues. “And the fun of it for the viewer, I hope, is to see how that affects the relationship they had established while he didn’t have his memory.”
When we spoke to Woo, he gave us an idea of the challenges that lie ahead for Eric and Sookie’s relationship, as well as how it will affect not only Bill, but also Eric’s relationship to Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten).

True Blood' recap: Kill Bill, Volume 1

Sookie's amusing sex dream in which she considers a romantic life involving both Bill and Eric might have been the most salacious component of Sunday's installment of "True Blood," but the episode, "Let's Get Out of Here" also saw a serious ratcheting up of tensions in the brewing war between the vampires and the witches. Namely, Antonia reveals her plan to use Eric to kill Bill in front of a crowd of onlookers and TV news crews.
The action begins as last week's cemetery showdown comes to a close. Alcide rushes a wounded Sookie home, but Bill overtakes them and gives his ex his own blood to help her heal from the gunshot that nearly killed her. Frustrated when Sookie comes to and begins chastising the boys for not running out to immediately search for Eric, the werewolf heads home to Debbie, who's lying in bed watching "Cheaters."

'True Blood': Stephen Moyer weighs in on Bill and Sookie's future

Fans of True Blood’s Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) have had a rough season. First, his lady love Sookie (Anna Paquin) was AWOL for more than a year in the fairy world, only to have Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) claim “ownership” of her when she returned. Then, to make matters worse, the Nordic vampire’s Lapland-cold heart thawed after witches made him forget his thousand-year history of slaughter. Suddenly, Eric was a lovesick puppydog, and fans of Bill watched in horror as he and Sookie engaged in some epic moonlit shagging. And if that didn’t make you think it’s hard out here for a vamp, last week Bill found himself dragged off by the same coven that had cursed Eric. Maybe Stephen Moyer can bare his fangs and help us make sense of Bill’s ill fortune.

Spoiler: Bill Walks in on Sookie and Eric!

Bill is one emotional breakdown away from prison tattooing “Sookie 4Eva” on his stomach, and now E! Online is reporting that when he walks in on his fairy princess and her new man all up on each other’s hot naked bods, he finally loses it completely.

Bill loves Sookie more than un-dead life itself, so he wants her to be happy — but not necessarily if happiness comes in the form of a giant naked Viking with a thing for leather.

Stephen Moyer: Season 4 Ends in a ''Big Bag of Crazy''

Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) says Bill needs a teddy bear or something: The solitude’s getting to him.

“[It’s] pretty dark times for the Billster,” Moyer tells Channel Guide. “He is pretty much alone. The only one he has left is Jessica [Deborah Ann Woll], his progeny. What we will see is him taking on a more responsible position in terms of looking after her. I’ve been very happy about that, getting to work with Deborah Ann, because she’s just extraordinary.”

Well, maybe people will come crawling back to Bill once all their other friends are killed off. Stephen says this season will culminate in “a big bag of crazy” and will have characters dropping like flies.

Stephen Moyer Got Bitten by the Acting Bug Young

Stephen Moyer
You don't expect the genteel vampire Bill Compton to roll into dinner on a neon green longboard on wheels, but that's what Stephen Moyer, the actor who plays him, did when Back Stage met him near his Venice, Calif., home. "I go everywhere with this," the British actor says about his eco-friendly mode of transportation. The down-to-earth Moyer, it turns out, is full of surprises, as is the case with his HBO series, which kicks off its fourth season this weekend. As the song "I'm on Fire" coincidentally played overhead (Bill is highly combustible in daylight), Moyer revealed to Back Stage his real-life story, which has more parallels to Billy Elliot than to Bill Compton.

Moyer landed his delicious "True Blood" gig thanks to being unceremoniously dumped from another L.A. pilot he was hired on but never got to shoot. "We did the table read, and I'd been offered the part, and me and a bunch of other actors from that show got let go at the table read. It was incredibly depressing," confesses Moyer, who flew back to his London home defeated and vowed not return to pilot season, at least for that year. The casting directors of that pilot, however, had something else in mind.

‘True Blood’s’ Stephen Moyer: Sookie and Eric romance will be ‘great for the show’

LA Times is really doing great interviews ..

If you’re talking about “True Blood,” it’s the inevitable question that arises — Team Bill or Team Eric? The vampires duel for the affections of telepathic cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) on the HBO series adapted from Charlaine Harris‘ bestselling novels, and each has his loyal core of supporters. But Stephen Moyer, who plays Southern gentleman vampire Bill Compton and is married to Paquin, insists that, off screen, there’s no animosity between Alexander Skarsgard, the towering Swedish actor who portrays Viking Eric Northman, and himself. In fact, he believes that the romance that might be brewing between the two blonds could inject new life into the already vibrant show, which returns for its fourth season June 26. Moyer recently spoke to Hero Complex contributor Gina McIntyre about the appeal of the Alan Ball-created series and the enduring appeal of all things vampire — even “Twilight” — hinting, too, about what audiences might expect from Bill in the coming weeks.

'True Blood' Season 4 to Reveal History Between Bill and Nan

I'm sure glad they are filling this in ....we knew there was something here

Another story from Bill's past will be uncovered in "True Blood" season 4. Recently, Jessica Tuck said that her character, Nan, shares a history with the male vampire. "All I can say is that Nan and Bill have a history," she teased, but refused to share more than that. "Details of that history will be revealed in Season 4."

In the upcoming season, Nan who is a spokeswoman for American Vampire League is assigning Bill and Eric to win back the human public after Russell's on-air meltdown. To True Blood's Nest, Jessica revealed her character has a bigger plan than just to maintaining the peace between humans and vampires.

"It would be foolish to think that her efforts were just about making humans and vamps one big happy family," the series' new regular said. "There is an agenda behind her agenda but that is not for me to reveal right now. Stay tuned."

Speaking generally of the show, Jessica dished, "Relationships between the characters get much more complicated and redefined." She went on gushing, "I love this season - I think there is a lot to sink your teeth into. You won't be disappointed."

"True Blood" season 4 will premiere Sunday, June 26 on HBO. While maintaining the relationship with the mortals, the vampires will also deal with witches who experiment with necromancy and try to discover a way to control the dead.

True Mud : more on the " Bill Compton Muppet "

There is much discussion on the Muppet wiki ( of course , there is a Muppet wiki! did you think we were the only ones that obsessed on a TV show ? ) about the True Blood ( Mud ) Parody

A Bill Compton Muppet appears in a Sesame Street sketch, "True Mud", a parody of the series True Blood. He's a caricature of series lead Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer). The man strolls into a restaurant (whooshing through the room instead of walking) and orders some "true mud." The rest of the patrons accuse him of being a Grouch, as they have a strong affinity for mud. However, the waitress brings him a "true spud", some "true cud" and a man name Bud, who tries giving him his broken watch (a "true dud"). Annoyed, the man throws himself on the floor, with a "true thud". Just when he's had enough, the waitress finally brings in a bathtub full of mud, which he uses for his mud bath.

The rise of "True Blood's" nihilistic vampire Bill Compton's recent bad behavior on the HBO show upends what we learned from "Twilight" and "Buffy"

During this season of "True Blood," Bill Compton, the show's "good-guy" vampire love interest, has done some very bad things. It all began during the third episode of the season. Bill had been kidnapped by the Vampire King of Mississippi and forced to live in a mansion with Lorena, his maker and ex-lover. By the end of the episode, Bill had attacked her and initiated a bloody sexual encounter that made the carnage of a Rob Zombie horror film seem like a jaunt in fairyland. In the following episode, Bill ate a stripper. Four episodes later, Bill almost killed Sookie, the very woman he has gone to extra-vampire lengths to protect.
Surely there must be an excuse for all this misbehavior. Bill was confused; he was surrounded by evil vampires, separated from his sweetheart and convinced that he could never truly be "good." But, Freudian issues aside, Bill's behavior is testament to the ways in which "True Blood's" politics diverge dramatically from those two other juggernauts of vampire pop culture: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Twilight." While these two were, respectively, liberal and conservative in their overall message, "True Blood" (whose season finale airs tonight on HBO) is a new species of vampire saga: A nihilistic pop culture phenomenon.

Mad Men's Don Draper vs. True Blood's Bill Compton

Who’s the biggest screw-up on cable TV: slick ad man Don Draper (Jon Hamm) or lovesick vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer)? Let the battle for bad boy supremacy commence!
Bill Compton
Vampire Bill has a complex past. Before he became a vampire he was just a regular man, a devoted father and husband. Then came the war and the Southern gentleman answered the call to arms. The only problem: he fought for the South, which doesn’t exactly win him hero points with a contemporary audience.
But human Bill didn’t escape the blight of war unharmed. An encounter with a strange woman on his way home to his wife and family changed him forever. The woman turned out to be a vampire. She was hungry and lonely and not only made Bill a vampire, ending his human life and robbing him of his beloved family, but she also made Bill her consort, her partner in crime.  The 100-odd years he spent with Lorena make the Battle of Antietam look like a trailer park dustup. The lusty vampire pair left a trail of carnage behind them.

"True Blood” a true heartbreaker with Shannon "Mrs. Caroline Compton" Lucio

Ok,  do we know every single scene in Sunday nights episode yet ? drip--drip
This won't happen after this week because only the first three episodes were on the screener dvds. Whew!
From My San Antonio blog

Sunday night's “True Blood” (8 p.m., HBO) contains a true heartbreaker of a scene — and it involves an actress from San Antonio.

Shannon Lucio (“The O.C.”), who grew up here and graduated from John Marshall High, plays vampire Bill Compton's (Stephen Moyer) wife, Caroline, in a flashback to 1866. We initially see a young woman raising a shotgun toward a stranger approaching; it turns out to be her husband.
At first overjoyed to see Bill after a three-year absence, she soon recoils in horror upon discovering what he's become. The extreme sadness felt by Bill, who cries blood tears in the scene, is bound to move you as well.

True Blood: True Blood: Season 3 - Bill Compton So Far

'True Blood's' Stephen Moyer on revisiting Bill's painful past

It's clear from HBO's recent poster showing Bill Compton during his Civil War days with the tagline, "Life Goes On," that we'll be exploring more of Bill's past in "True Blood's" third season.

"There's a couple of great flashbacks this year," Stephen Moyer, who plays Bill, tells Zap2it. "I love the flashbacks because what's interesting is that you as an actor playing these characters don't get a chance to really understand who your character is, because the writers are able to invent things from your past that you didn't know about. So, it just keeps adding color to your characterization as you go."

Warning: Semi-spoilerish

Some of the most achingly gorgeous (and telling) scenes of the series occur in flashback. Moyer gave us a couple hints of what we'll be exploring in Bill's past.

"We will see one of the reasons why Bill is so tortured," he explains. "There will be something that explains how his relationship with Lorena evolved. There is some beautiful stuff in there."

Sookie and Bill : In Sookie's dream she and Bill frolic in the waves

We remember in True Blood Season 1 this image from Sookie's dream of living a normal life with Bill. In the dream,  she comes down for breakfast in the morning and he's sitting at the table reading the newspaper and has made her a huge breakfast spread. She quickly realizes it's daytime and Bill shouldn't be out in the day time- by the time she can say anything , he's burst into flames- this makes her wake from the dream with a start.

Then I saw this photo and thought that this must be yet another wonderful Sookie dream sequence . Remember at the end of Season 1 when she and Sam talk about taking a trip to the coast ?( I don't think anyone would want a trip to the Louisiana gulf coast right now! )Maybe in this dream she dreams of taking just such a trip with Bill.

Isn't this just what it would look like ?

Ha! ;-)

The Wall Street Journal (blog) thinks Bill Compton is a VILF

True Blood’s New Ads: Are the vampires from “True Blood” your type? HBO is counting on your thirst or desire for the vamps with their new VILF ads. The acronym is a play off of the term MILF, which is a term that Speakeasy won’t define here, but that you can find on the Web or in your nearest high school locker room. The term packs a bite that might get tongues wagging for the new season that will kick off on June 13. [THR]
