True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard paid a visit to Live! with Regis and Kelly this morning, and Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa were appropriately giddy in the presence of the man who plays Gelman’s favorite character on TV. (Pause while you process that.) They hit the standard talking points — he grew up as a child actor in an acting family, he was in the Swedish military, he doesn’t have a problem with nudity. But it was interesting to hear him articulate why he quit acting at the age of 13: “I didn’t like the attention. I didn’t know who I was, so to hear people on TV or on the radio, in newspapers, magazines talking about me and who I was and what I like was kind of confusing.”

Actor Joe Manganiello, 34, plays Alcide the werewolf in the latest series of True Blood to hit our shores.
With a vampire and werewolf love triangle forming around the show's leading characters, Alcide is right in the thick of it.
Joe joins us today to talk wolves, weird fans and why he willingly will wear nothing on set.
In May I put it out on the blog and wrote to a few friends of the blog and told everyone what costs I faced just to keep the show going. Many folks responded with offers of episode sponsorships, raffle prizes and donations, but weeks before the show was set to start we still hadn't raised all the money needed to fund the show.
Enter our great friend author, Becca Wilcott -you all know her from her many appearances on Talk Blood Radio, her wonderful True Blood column from the National Post ( Canada) and especially from her FANGTASTIC book , Truly, Madly, Deadly: The Unofficial True Blood Companion . She contacted me and offered to help and wanted to make sure that at least the show could get started and that would allow me a little time to make up the difference in additional sponsorships and raffle donations.
So if you've enjoyed one episode of Talk Blood this season, if you love being in the chatroom right after the episode airs and talking with your friends about that night's happenings ..you can thank, in large part Becca.

True Blood star Carrie Preston has admitted that Arlene is there to be laughed at.
Preston, who has played Arlene since the show began in 2008, explained that she has always tried to stop the character being solely the butt of jokes.
"The role is designed by the writers to play on the stereotype of Southerners in the media," she told The AV Club. "She's designed to be ridiculed.
"What I like about playing her is being able to ground her in some kind of truth while still honoring that humor and that thing that she represents. I love it that I'm responsible for serving up the humor on the show, but what has been wonderful for me is that the writers have also given me more dramatic things to deal with."
