Lindsay Pulsipher is not a werepanther, but she plays one on True Blood!

On True Blood, Lindsay Pulsipher plays Crystal Norris, the troubled, inbred werepanther torn between her meth-dealing family and a tumultuous love affair with backwoods babe Jason Stackhouse. In real life, she’s a bubbly blonde artist who was raised by a Mormon family in Utah. Off the set, Pulsipher has had a heck of a time keeping the details on her character a secret from family and friends who are obsessed with the popular HBO series created by Alan Ball. Pulsipher, who will appear Saturday at the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino, recently talked to City Link about learning to move like a cat, working with Patrick Swayze and being surrounded by a set of fake blood.
What’s a typical day like on the True Blood set?
It’s one of the friendliest, most easygoing sets I’ve ever been on. The crew is so friendly and welcoming. Being a newcomer on the show, I couldn’t have felt more at home right away. That being said, it’s a very hard-working set, as well.
Your character on True Blood has such a heavy Southern accent. When your fans meet you, do they expect you to have that accent?
Yeah. I play a character who’s so different from who I am in regular life that people are kind of taken aback. When they first meet me, they’re like, “Are you Crystal? Wait, you are Crystal.” True Blood fans are so gracious and so cool. It’s been such an amazing experience just meeting all the fans.

Charlaine Harris, Author of books that sparked 'True Blood' gets a bite from CBS

CBS is hoping to strike lightning with the creator of the hit novels that sparked "True Blood."
The network is developing a project centered on a series of Harper Connelly mystery novels written by Charlaine Harris, the author of the "Sookie Stackhouse" novels that have been the basis for the hit HBO series. The Harper Connelly novels revolve around a woman who is struck by lightning, gaining the ability to see the last moments of the dead.
Among the executive producers of the project, titled "Grave Sight," which is the title of the first Harper Connelly novel, are Tony Scott and Ridley Scott, and Naren Shankar ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation").

True Blood’s Detective Bellefleur Is Getting Back in Shape

Chris Bauer, who plays drunken, slovenly Bon Temps police officer Andy Bellefleur on True Blood, is spending his hiatus in the gym: "I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I’ve been lucky to do it on TV for a long time, and I just finally … it was, like, one day I just looked up there and saw me,” Bauer told us last night at the Broadway opening of A Life in the Theatre. “And especially after the second season of True Blood, where my character had so let himself go, life was imitating art, big-time, and I just decided I want to do whatever I can to look as good as I can.

Richelle Mead and Charlaine Harris in Conversation

Today we discovered a great video on the Amazon page for the final Vampire Academy installment Last Sacrifice. Looks as though our friends at Amazon got two of our favorite authors — Richelle Mead and Charlaine Harris — together to talk new books.

Sam Trammell ‘True Blood’ Season 4 interview by MovieMikes

Sam Trammell is well known for his role in HBO’s “True Blood” as Sam Merlotte. The blue-collared bar owner who also happens to be a shape shifter. Sam is gearing up for Season Four of “True Blood”, which should start filming early next year.  Movie Mikes caught up with Sam to discuss his role in “True Blood” and what he has planned for the future.
Mike Gencarelli: Tell us about how you originally got the role of Sam Merlotte?
Sam Trammell: I got the script from my agent. It was going around town and it was Alan Ball’s new show on HBO. It was a hot commodity, everyone wanted to do it. I just went it and met with the casting director.  They taped me and showed it to Alan. They picked me for the final audition to go in front of HBO. There were about three other guys there for my part. I read in front of the president of HBO and all these executives. I found out four hours later I got the part, it was fairly quick turnaround.
MG: What is the best part of playing the character, it seems like it is made just for you?
ST: Thanks man, well I am from Louisiana originally. It is great to be able to play a character who you kind of represent and a guy from where I am from. I love that he is kind of a blue collar dude and that he owns a bar. I never worked in a bar but I always thought it would be fun to work as a bartender. The other part of it is that he is a supernatural creature which is a really cool thing to have under your belt and as a secret. Since I still get to be like a regular guy.

Bistro 185 planning Halloween homage to HBO's 'True Blood'

Sounds fun, huh ?

Just in time for Halloween, chef Ruth Levine of Bistro 185 is planning an homage to the HBO cable series "True Blood." On Wednesday, Oct. 27, Levine's "True Blood Dinner" debuts with an entirely red menu -- dishes like Shrimp Fritters With Red Devil Aioli, a Roasted Red Beet and Pomegranate Salad, and Roasted Beef Tenderloin Medallions With Red Wine Sauce. Dessert? Red Velvet Cake With Raspberry Coulis. The menu is inspired by the cuisine of Louisiana, the setting for "True Blood."

If you happen to make reservations for the dinner, consider donating blood to the American Red Cross. Guests who do so between now and the event will receive a $25 gift certificate good for a future visit to Bistro 185.

CC Adcock, and Jace Everett and Faux Blood festival

I can't recommend more highly going to St Francisville !

Faux Blood Music Festival
Location : St. Francisville, La

In honor of Halloween and the fact that HBO’s hit True Blood has been mostly filmed in Louisiana, the newest music festival to haunt the hills of West Feliciana Parish tunes up on the grounds of the 3V Tourist Court/Magnolia Café on Halloween weekend. Eight bands will be doing their part to ring in All-Hallows Eve, including Chuck Prophet, CC Adcock, and Jace Everett. They’ll be playing on an outdoor stage well supplied with the good food and drinks that have kept folks flocking back to the little corner of Commerce Street known as Bohemianville, for the best part of thirty years now. $20.(225) 721-7003.

Jace Everett from his blog…

“Hey kids,

On October 31st, Dan and I will be headed to the swamps of Louisiana with my favorite mouth breather, Chuck Prophet. Old Charlie has put together what we hope will be an annual event: Faux Blood Fest!! (boo!) The two day event at the Magnolia Cafe will feature some great Louisiana musicians, some swamp rockers, and some of us knuckle draggers lucky enough to get songs on True Blood!”

Dick and Jane and Vampires

How fun is this ? Thanks to KMC for sending this to me !

When innocent Dick and Jane meet a creepy, cape-wearing vampire, the unexpected happens: he becomes their friend! Dick and Jane and Vampires borrows from the classic stories and art we all know and love, but adds an of-the-moment twist: a vampire, illustrated in the classic Dick and Jane style.
