New True Blood advertisement airing and "make your own HBO "
This is really strange huh ? what do you guys think ?
Make your own HBO http://www.makeyourownhbo.com/
From adweek
Brand: HBO Videos
Agency: BBDO Worldwide
Review Date: December 07, 2010
This holiday season, HBO reminds fans of its popular series True Blood, Entourage and Eastbound and Down that nothing beats the original. A new campaign from BBDO, New York, pushes boxed DVD sets of the shows with humorous spots showing people re-creating their favorite scenes for fans. One guy, trying to impress his True Blood-loving girlfriend, builds an elaborate smoke-spouting rig he uses to enact a tense love triangle exchange among Sookie and her two vampire suitors. His effort is met with a dumbfounded look from the girlfriend, who is probably thinking her boyfriend has some hidden demons of his own. “This holiday leave the HBO to us,” reads the onscreen copy. True, a cardboard cutout of Eric Northman just doesn’t get the blood pumping quite the same way, but the amateur theater could be funnier. Online, at www.makeyourownHBO, visitors can create and share their own clips using augmented reality technology that controls virtual sock puppets.-

True Blood' trickles to Germany

The sexually charged and violent series may pose a challenge for programmers, who will likely relegate it to latenight.
"True Blood" joins other hit U.S. genre shows on RTL II including "Dexter," "Smallville," "Battlestar Galactica," "Heroes," "Stargate," "Stargate Atlantis" and "Stargate Universe." It also runs the BBC's "Torchwood."
"True Blood," which has been airing in most other major territories for some time, was created by Alan Ball and is based on "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" book series by Charlaine Harris.

Expect More TrueBlood comics and they will be co-authored by Michael " Reverend Steve Newlin" McMillian
Today publisher IDW announced plans to bring fan favorite "TRUEBLOOD" back for more monthly installments into the coming year with a second story arc in the series based upon the award winning HBO television show and popular New York Times best selling novels by Charlaine Harris. Below you can get all the details on the series thus far as well as some advance cover art.
"Actor Michael McMillian, who plays Fellowship of the Sun leader Reverend Steve Newlin, will co-author the new six-issue arc with Marc Andreyko.
"Co-writing the True Blood comic is a dream come true both as a performer on the show and as longtime comic fan. It's a real privilege to build on the rapidly growing True Blood mythology," McMillian said.
Here's how IDW describes the next arc:
"Jessica is exposed to contaminated bottles of Tru Blood, causing the lovely vampire to go berserk. It's up to Sookie, Bill and the others to figure out who (or what) is behind the bad Blood."
In addition to Jessica, several other Bon Temp residents are making their comic book debut including Hoyt, Terry, Arlene and Steve Newlin.
Joe Corroney provides the art, with covers by J. Scott Campbell.
"Marc and I are working hard to make sure the series feels like an extension of the show," McMillan said. "True Blood fans should expect lots of action, gore, sex, humor and of course, awesome cliffhangers!"

The Vulture Transcript: Anne Rice on Twilight, Her Casting Dreams for a New Lestat, and Her Ever-Evolving Religious Beliefs
Thirty-five years ago, Anne Rice single-handedly launched a permanent pop-culture vampire fixation with Interview With the Vampire, the first installment of her best-selling ten-book series The Vampire Chronicles. Today, the author is interested in a different sort of eternal life: the kind that comes from religious salvation instead of erotic damnation. Raised Irish Catholic, the author re-converted in 1998 after years as a self-avowed atheist. Her spiritual awakening was followed by a transition to more explicitly Christian material: first the Christ the Lord books, which fictionalized the early life of Jesus Christ, and most recently, the Songs of the Seraphim series, about a reformed hit man named Toby O’Dare who becomes — of course! — a time-traveling angel-for-hire. (And then in July, Rice stunned her Christian fan base by announcing — on Facebook, no less — that she was leaving organized religion “in the name of Christ.”) She is currently making appearances in New York (tonight at the Tribeca Barnes & Noble) and California to promote her second Seraphim novel, Of Love and Evil. For a sprawling Vulture Transcript, we called Rice to discuss demons and angels, and her potential new entries in her Christ the Lord series, as well as more secular topics, like her takes on Twilight and True Blood, and whether she thinks Robert Downey Jr. should succeed Tom Cruise as the next Vampire Lestat.

Vampire life explored in Dead as a Doornail
BOOK REVIEW
As if Sookie Stackhouse just doesn't have enough to worry about, Jason Stackhouse joins the supernatural world in Charlaine Harris's novel, Dead as a Doornail. The author strays from the exciting Sookie formula novels with a dry sidebar about the character's brother, Jason, who just can't see to escape trouble.
Book five finds him becoming a panther on page one, adding fear for Jason's safety to the mounting problems Sookie has since she discovered the supernatural world.
Dead as a Doornail begins with the expected change of Jason into a panther under the guidance of Calvin Norris. Since meeting Norris in Hotshot, his hankering for Sookie endears him to help her out, even with her aggravating brother causing problems on Norris' home turf with the relationship with his niece. Hotshots' secrets are now part of Bon Temps as Jason crosses over into a creature of the night. While Jason is being inducted into the culture, Sookie takes time to reminisce on her now defunct relationship with Vampire Bill. She met him at Merlottes, her full-time job that she rarely goes to because of her busy life. Working with vampires has netted her cash to keep her and her house secure for now. She can continue to work and focus on her brother, the main man in her life at the moment.
