Michelle Pfeiffer, who is starring in the soon-to-be-released Stephen Frears' film, Chéri, is rumored to be in talks to join the cast of the HBO vampire drama, True Blood.
Ask Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly revealed the following:
Alan Ball and Co. are currently talking to “name” actresses to appear in just one episode this season (and more in future ones). The character? No less than Sophie-Anne, the 500-year-old queen of the Louisiana vampires.
If everything goes according to plan, Michelle Pfeiffer could be landing that role, and man could that be awesome!

WHAT!!! She is beautiful, no doubt, but she does not look like a 15 year old.
Wow, AB is really hell bent on shaking things up!
I would not be surprised if Ball casts a seasoned and older actress to fill the Queen Sophie-Anne Leclerq role.
On screen Tara is not the same as described in the books and neither is Chang. I would be pleased to see an older actress play Sophie-Anne.
Michelle Forbes is over 40 and promises to portray a great Maenad on screen. If Ball casts Pfeiffer as the Queen it would show that not all the sexy women on True Blood have to be under 35.
excellent point anony ..
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She´s all wrong for the part!!!!
I have already posted about it here:
http://suckerforvampires.wordpress.com/2009/03/19/sophie-anne/
I put all parts of the books that shows that Sophie Anne is a 15 year old!!! And it would mess up the story line in the future if you considerer that at the time Sophie Anne was made vampire the average mortality age is a lot less than 50 years old!!!!
Besides, several times in the books Sophie Anne is described as a contradiction, between her age and the way she dresses and carrys herself.
I agreed that women over 35 can be sexy as hell, but in the right part...
I think this is great! I hope she gets the part!! I trust Alan and I like that the show values good acting and is going on its own path
For real? This would be awesome!!! She's one of my top favs!!!
What the hell she does not look like she's 15 years old !
That's a disappointment ! True Blood couldn't get a 15 year old ? Oh yea the best actresses were all gone ! Dakota Fanning would of been great but I guess she's doing better things.
Relax, everyone. This is a little misquoted. What the article actually said was: "My mole tells me that Her Highness is as bright and witty as she is powerful and dangerous. (Isn't that always the way?) Michelle Pfeiffer, call your agent -- yesterday!" That was Ausiello making a joke. I don't think he knows that the queen is a teen. As far as I know, nobody from the studio mentioned Michelle Pfeiffer.

Sophie-Anne Leclerq was turned when she was fifteen-years-old. She is not being played by Michelle Pheiffer, she's being played by Evan Rachael Wood, whom is (might I add) outstanding. She will be playing the lesbian vampire that...(SPOILER WILL REMAIN TO MYSELF) :)
