Q : In the books does Bill have a relationship with Portia ?
A: Ummm ..no, at the end of the "Living Dead in Dallas" Bill finds out that Caroline Portia's grandmother ) is his great-granddaughter .
Some snippets from the book about Bill and Portia.
If I'd had doubts .. I had them no longer. He was not sleeping with Portia Bellefleur. I didn't know what he was up to, but true relationship with her.
"Now, you tell me what you're doing with Portia." Bill's big hands rested on my hips as he explained.
"She came to me after I got back from Dallas, the first night. She had read about what happened there, wondered if I knew anyone who'd been there that day. When I said that I had been there myself—I didn't mention you—Portia said she had information that some of the arms used in the attack had come from a place in Bon Temps, Sheridan's Sport Shop. I asked her how she had heard this; she said as a
lawyer, she couldn't say. I asked her why she was so concerned, if there wasn't anything further she'd tell me about it; she said she was a good citizen and hated to see other citizens persecuted. I asked her why she came to me; she said I was the only vampire she knew."
I narrowed my eyes as I worked this through. "Portia doesn't care one damn thing about vampire rights," I said. "She might want to get in your pants, but she doesn't care about vampire legal issues."....
I think Portia believes if she's dating you, someone will ask her to go to this sex club, since if she's willing to ball a vampire, she's willing to do anything.
"I wondered when you were going to ask me," he said calmly. "As if I would ever bed a Bellefleur. No, she has not the slightest desire to have sex with me. She even has a hard time pretending she wants to at some later date. Portia is not much of an actress. Most of the time we are together, she takes me on wild goose chases to find this cache of arms the Fellowship has stowed here, saying all the Fellowship sympathizers are hiding them." "So why'd you go along with any of this?"
"There's something about her that's honorable. And I wanted to see if you would be jealous."

Charlaine Harris Sets End Date For Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries Series
A little more than ten years ago, Sookie Stackhouse first appeared as the narrator and protagonist of a Charlaine Harris book called Dead Until Dark. After pretty solid sales, she returned a year later in Living Dead In Dallas. Then another book followed and then another until a new yearly entry in her Southern Vampire Mysteries was an expected, regular and high-selling guarantee. In the fall of 2008, writer/ producer Alan Ball adapted the series into the HBO phenomenon True Blood, and since, the Charlaine Harris novels have exploded in popularity. In theory, they could have gone on forever, but the author announced a definitive end date earlier this week.
Speaking to Popcorn Biz, Harris said she's committed to writing a thirteenth book but has already made plans to give Sookie and her vampiric friends definitive closure. Whether that means she'll be killed off or an apocalyptic showdown between humans and the undead will occur is all speculation at this point, but don't expect her to change her mind. Charlaine Harris was very clear on that in the interview.

Go Ask Dallas- True Blood Trivia: Halloween comes to True Blood do we have Halloween in the Sookie books?
Q Does this holiday happen in the Sookie books ?
A I am sooooo glad you asked - this lets me go on and on
From Club Dead: Of course, vampires don't observe holidays, except for Halloween. It's the ancient festival of Samhain dressed up in trappings that the vamps find delightful. So Halloween's a great favorite, and it's celebrated worldwide in the vamp community.)
From Dead to Worse : “Did you get an invitation for the Fangtasia Halloween party this year?” he asked.“No. After the last party they invited me to, they might not want me to come back,” I said. “Besides, with all the recent losses, I don’t know if Eric’ll feel like celebrating.”
“You think we ought to have a Halloween party at Merlotte’s?” he asked. “Maybe not with candy and stuff like that,” I said, thinking hard. “Maybe a goodie bag for each customer, with dry roasted peanuts? Or a bowl of orange popcorn on each table? And some decorations?” Sam looked in the direction of the bar as if he could see through the walls. “That sounds good. Make a thing of it.” Ordinarily we only decorated for
Christmas, and that only after Thanksgiving, at Sam’s insistence.
...we put out the Halloween decorations. Sam had gotten a little pumpkin for each table and painted a face on each one. I was filled with admiration, because the faces were really clever, and some of them looked like bar patrons. In fact, one looked a lot like my dear brother....
“I had no idea you could do this,” I said, and he looked pleased. “It was fun,” he said, and hung a long strand of fall leaves— of course, they were actually made of cloth—around the bar mirror and among some of the bottles. I tacked up a life-size cardboard skeleton with little rivets at the joints so it could be positioned. I arranged this one so it was clearly dancing. We couldn’t have any depressing skeletons at the bar.
This lets me talk about one of my favorite Secret Sookie Short Story "Dracula night " from the anthology "Many bloody returns " this is the story that Sookie is referencing when she says she didn't get an invitation to the Fangtasia party. You can buy it here for $2 !!!
