Ball says " I’m looking forward to seeing werewolves.”

Good enough for me

Then Ball gives us some info on the status of the TRUE BLOOD renewal and if there will be a season three.

“It’s so much fun to work on this show that I’m just excited that there is a season three,” Ball says. “Even though I don’t think it’s been officially announced, it will be very soon.

I’m looking forward to seeing werewolves.”

"Trust Me": A Look Ahead and Back for "True Blood" at Comic-Con 2009

Televisionary does a nice review of the TB panel (Bubba, Debbie Pelt - Alcide ??)

One of the most highly anticipated panels this year at Comic-Con was that for HBO's sexy vampire drama True Blood, which played to a packed crowd in Ballroom 20 this year.

On hand were showrunner Alan Ball, novelist Charlaine Harris (whose Sookie Stackhouse novels comprise the basis for the series), and cast members Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Rutina Wesley, Nelsan Ellis, Michelle Forbes, Sam Trammell, Deborah Ann Woll, and Alexander Skarsgard.

Not surprisingly, the cast's appearance received major fanfare from the crowd but that was just the beginning of a one-hour session that featured a promo for the back half of the second season of True Blood, an announcement about the launch of Tru Blood the beverage (more on that in a bit), and the news that Charlaine Harris had signed a deal for three more Sookie Stackhouse novels.

"Everybody's going to go through some changes," promised executive producer Alan Ball of the second half of True Blood's sophomore season. And from the looks of the back half of Season Two that definitely looks to be the case. Said promo featured a hell of a lot of spoilery images, some sex and violence, and Eric telling Sookie, "trust me." (Wowzers!)

Want to sink your teeth into the promo? You're in luck as you can watch it full below, followed by details from the True Blood panel itself.

'True Blood' at Comic-con: Yes, ladies, Eric really is that hot

LA Times Blog

Lest anyone forget, there is more than one vampire-themed entertainment phenomenon in the pop culture universe right now.
"True Blood," HBO's hit adaptation of the Sookie Stackhouse mystery novels from author Charlaine Harris, has its own legion of devoted fans keen on the show's sexy, campy aesthetic, and plenty of them turned up Saturday to see cast members Anna Paquin (on her birthday, no less), Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Rutina Wesley, Nelsan Ellis, Michelle Forbes, Deborah Ann Woll and Alexander Skarsgard and creator Alan Ball talk about what's in store for Season Two and beyond. It was Skarsgard, though, who might have earned the most enthusiastic reception -- he plays vamp heavy Eric Northman on the Louisiana-set series, and well, there just must be something about those centuries-old former vikings who become powerful immortals. They make the ladies swoon.

After screening a brief teaser reel promoting the second half of the current season, the cast took turns answering questions posed by moderator Kate Hahn from TV Guide and members of the audience -- several of whom focused on the tension between Eric and Paquin's Sookie, who happens to be romantically involved with Moyer's Southern gentleman vampire Bill Compton. (The couple are also an item off-screen.)

Paquin said that after Sookie's experiences last season -- when she suffered the loss of her grandmother and was in almost constant danger of losing her own life -- she felt that her character had become stronger and tougher, but conceded that she still gets into trouble. "Good thing she has her vampire boyfriend," she noted. Moyer, for one, intends to make sure that Bill remains Sookie's beau. "I'm not sure Bill's just going to roll over and let that happen," he said of any potential developments on the Eric/Sookie front. "He might not be as polite."

Which means things could turn ugly, and fast, as Skarsgard said that Eric's most likely not going to drop his advances toward the plucky cocktail waitress anytime soon. "Eric's been around for a very long time. He's kind of over humanity, then she comes along and there's something different about her. For the first time in a long time, he's curious."

Skarsgard went on to say that he's enjoyed working on the series' second season, as it's allowed him to develop the character: "Eric was misunderstood. People would say, 'You're the bad guy,' and I had to defend him. He is a bad ass, but as an actor, you have to have layers... He doesn't care for a lot of people, or vampires either, but the ones he does, he's very loyal to."

For those who thirst for something else related to the show, Ball announced that TruBlood (an all natural blood orange soda sold in replica bottles that look just like the props used on the show) will be available for purchase Sept. 10, just in time for the Season Two finale. Fans will be able to place orders at hbo.com.

And there's more good news for those who read Harris' novels: she revealed during the panel that she's signed a contract to write three more, which should take her up through 2014.

True Blood at Comic-Con: A Twilight Diss, Fang Malfunctions & More

From Eonline

If you think True Blood is crazysexycool now, wait until you see what 's coming up next.

We caught a glimpse of clips for upcoming episodes at today's Comic-Con panel and we can tell you this: We finally get to see Michelle Forbes' character (Maryanne) revealing her true self, which is the horned maenad creature that attacked Sookie (Anna Paquin) a few eps back, and, we must say, Michelle looks killer in the get-up! She is stirring up even more trouble than before and it goes way beyond just getting people high, horny and black-eyed at her parties.

We also got our first good look at Evan Rachel Wood's vampire queen in a trailer-ending scene where she is feasting on someone and comes up for air with a face full of blood to say, "Wanna join me?" I can safely say that everyone in the audience did want to join her. She looks simply delicious as the queen.

And, the battle between the Fellowship of the Sun goody two-shoes and the vampires turns into a "national vampire disaster." But, it looks like Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) might be having second thoughts about where his loyalties lie. (Finally!)

As if that weren't enough to excite fans, show creator Alan Ball had this special announcement…
Comic-Con 2009 Franchise Brick

True Blood: The Drink: They teased us before about it, but this time it's for real: a True Blood drink will be on the market on Sept. 10. Alan joked that it's a mix of a cabernet wine with blood, "vodka, Vicodin, Viagra and ecstasy" and that's it's "completely illegal." Imagine that? Kidding aside, he said it's "a very tasty blood orange soda" that has "all natural ingredients." And, it's bottled in the same bottle you see on the show. How cool is that? Oh, and you can pre-order it at www.hbo.com.

The Love Triangle: Will the love triangle between Bill (Stephen Moyer), Sookie, and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) get played out on screen as it does in the books? "Yes," said Alan. And, that is all he said on the topic. Stephen, though, said, "I'm not sure that Bill is just going to roll over and let it happen. I think he's going to fight his hardest and maybe not be quite as polite as he has been." When asked why Eric is so smitten with Sookie, Alexander joked, "Just look at her. I'm sorry, Stephen." An audience member then asked Alan if that was blond hair we saw on the person in bed with Sookie in the new clips and Alan said, "I have no idea what

you're talking about." We'll soon see…

Lafayette's Hustle: "I think Lafayette's hustle is supreme and he's figured out that it's not going to work for him to get him out of the situation," said Nelsan Ellis. "So now I think he's rethinking his hustle and maybe he's going to stop doing it." When the crowd gave a collective sigh of disapproval, Nelsan, added, "But, we'll see."

Comic Con Live Blog and intereview with Alexander ( Eric ) and Deborah ( Jessica)( Eric)

5:22: The cast has arrived and is walking out to thunderous applause.

5:25: E.P. Alan Ball has a special announcement: "True Blood: The Drink" is now a reality. It will be available September 10th, just in time for all of our season finale viewing parties.

5:27: An audience member just screamed out "Happy Birthday, Anna!" I guess it's her birthday.

5:30: Clip reel for the second half of the season... Looks like Jason's going to turn his back on the fellowship of the sun cult, Tara is slapping Eggs, Bill is punching Eric and the entire town is going black-eyed crazy, courtesy of Marianne.

5:31: The moderator is introducing each cast member by name. Deafening noise is made for Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) and Alexander Skarsgard (Eric).

5:32: Moderator asks Stephen Moyer (Bill) how Bill might react if something does in fact happen between Sookie and Eric. Stephen says Bill may not be as polite as we're used to in the future.

5:34: Moderator asks Michelle Forbes (Marianne) about why this fantasy/sci fi genre lends itself so well to strong women characters. Forbes saying she's spoken at length about this with "Battlestar"'s Mary McDonnell. Re: Mary McDonnell: "She's a Goddess, by the way." Applause so loud, I can't hear the rest of her answer!

5:37: Nelsan Ellis is asked how Lafayette's recent troubles -- in the basement, specifically -- might change him. Nelsan says he may have to "re-think his hustle" because it's been getting him into too much trouble. The crowd is not pleased by this. He says, "...but maybe not."

5:39: Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica) says she tends to be a nervous person. She's picturing all of us in our underwear right now.

5:40: Moderator asks Alexander why he's so drawn to Sookie. Alexander says, "Well just look at her"... And follows that up with, "Sorry, Stephen." He says Eric has been around a long time and is just over humanity, but Sookie interests him and he of course wants to explore that."

5:42: Charlaine Harris, who created the "True Blood" book series, just announced that she's signed a contract to write three more "TB" books... and the crowd goes wild!

5:44: Someone screams "I love you, Eric!" Alexander says, "I love him too... I mean that."

5:46: An audience member asks what Alan Ball is looking forward to doing in season 3. He says, werewolves, the character of Debbie Pelt. Someone screams out a character from the book, Godrick! But Alan says he doesn't know how to include Godrick without it being cheesy. The audience boos. Alexander says, "The people have spoken."

5:47: Audience question about Eric and pink spandex. Alexander gets up, lifts his pant leg. He's wearing pink socks. Alan says he wasn't planning on putting Alex in spandex, but he's now possibly changed his mind.

5:48: Audience member with better eyes than mine asks, "Was Sookie in bed with someone with blonde hair in that clip reel? Was that Eric?" Alan says, after a long pause, I have no idea what you're talking about. Everyone cheers.

5:50: More questions for Alexander! How's it different working here than in Sweden? He says, "If this were Sweden, we'd all be in a barn and every other person's name would be "Skarsgard."

5:52: An audience member tells Stephen he'll always be "Prince Valiant" to her. Anna likes this, big smile.

5:55: Audience member asks if the love triangle between Bill, Sookie and Eric will play out as it does in the books. The question is dodged.

5:56: Audience member asks how much more trouble Jessica is going to be for Bill. Deborah says, "As much as they'll let me." Again, the crowd goes wild.

5:57: Audience member thanks Alan for creating gay characters with dimension.

5:58: Audience member wants to know about the relationship between Lafayette and Eric, as well as Eric and Godrick. Alan Ball says, Lafayette is rightfully frightened by Eric, Eric is intrigued by Lafayette and may have more plans for him in the future that we'll eventually find out about. He says the relationship between Eric and Godrick is complicated, father-and-son type deal. There is no one more important in Eric's life than Godrick.

6:00 Audience member asks "the vampires on the panel" if they've ever had any fang mishaps. Stephen says something about one type of "fangs" being very sharp and Anna interrupts, "Yes they are." Crowd goes insane.

6:02: Audience member asks if there is going to be a half vampire/half human baby. The crowd gets angry. Alan Ball says, "Um, no." The crowd is filled with glee once again. Alan explains, "You're either all vampire or all human, you can't be both."

6:04: Charlaine Harris: "Alan and I have a working relationship. I don't tell him how to do the show. He doesn't tell me how to write the books."

6:06: Audience member asks about funny moments on set. Moderator asks if that is directed at someone in particular. Audience screams, Nelsan! He obliges: "There was this nekkid dude on set in this episode coming up. One take, he fell. That was hilarious."

6:08: Michelle is asked why she took the role of Marianne: "When someone offers you an entrance where you're standing in the middle of the road, naked, holding a pig, you don't say no."

6:10: For Alan or Charlaine, "What is the difference between V and just feasting on someone. Charlaine answers that V is old blood. Getting blood directly from source is fresh and obviously a much better experience.

We know that Alan Ball and the amazing Gary Calamar put great effort into musically curating True Blood !

We now know that Episode 2.12 is entitled " Before the night is over " Its the Jerry Lee Lewis version becasue we learned from an article this week that Sookie and Bill are dancing to it in Ep 12.

Lyrics to Before The Night Is Over :
(feat. B.B. King)

I can tell by the way you're a little bit lonesome baby, just like Jerry Lee
It's just like someone that you're needing to forget
Honey, that's the same thing with me I've been wanderin' baby why don't we?
Just make believe it ain't the first time we have met

And before the night is over you're gonna be in love
I bet you by the mornin', I'll be the only one that you'll be thinkin' of
So we will, will come together as close as fingers in a glove
And before the night is over you gonna be in love

Honey I can tell, Jerry Lee can tell, somebody might put that lady there right through to hell
And she can use a little tenderness these things I know
O if you feel that it's wrong Lord I could be comin' on a little bit too strong
Just let me know I'll pack my jump I just might go

But before the night is over, you gonna be in love
I bet you by the mornin', I'll be the only one that you'll be thinkin' of
So we will come together as close as fingers in a glove
And before the night is over
I said before the night is over
Hey girl before the night is over you gonna be in love

Gonna be in love! Whoa!

Episode 212, "Beyond Here Lies Nothin' - HBO

In the season two finale, the mayhem in Bon Temps reaches a fever pitch as Maryann prepares for her ultimate bestial sacrifice, conscripting Sookie to be Maid of Honor at the bloody nuptials. Meanwhile, Sophie-Anne (guest star Evan Rachel Wood) warns Eric to keep the lid on Bill's inquisitiveness; Jason leads Andy into the heroic abyss; and Hoyt has a hard time swallowing Maxine's endless stream of insults. Deliberating on what may be his final move to save Sookie and the town, Sam is forced to put his trust, and his life, in a most unlikely ally.

Written by Alexander Woo; directed by Michael Cuesta.

Happy Birthday Anna Paquin!

Let's all raise our cans of Tru Blood in a toast to Anna Paquin who celebrates her 27th birthday today! It's been a bloody good year for the Canadian-born cutie. Though "True Blood" was unceremoniously snubbed from this year's Emmy nominations, Anna has plenty to celebrate. Not only does she have a pretty fangtastic boyfriend in costar Stephen Moyer, but their sultry series is the highest rated show on HBO since "The Sopranos." (Take that, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences!)

True Blood Season’s 2 finale: “Before The Night Is Over“.

Yippeee we know the name now .. “Before The Night Is Over“.

We also learned this this week about ep 12

After the Clinton shoot, production shifted indoors to the Stockade Bed and Breakfast in Baton Rouge. Once a Civil War stockade, the B&B is listed on the National Register of Historical Places as an archaeological site.

The Stockade's great room — an open space with a balcony, baby grand piano, large wood-burning fireplace and floor-to-ceiling glass wall — was transformed into a restaurant for the shoot. A nearby breakfast room, filled with antiques and hummingbird and botanical prints, became a makeshift studio for directors and script supervisors to watch the scenes unfold on monitors.

The sequence shot on this day was a dance scene. Paquin, in a sundress with her hair in a sleek up-do, and Moyer in black suit, do a modified jitterbug to the Jerry Lee Lewis song "Before the Night Is Over." Between takes, the actors chill out in a back room at the B&B where stylists touch up their makeup.

Footage from the Louisiana shoot will appear in upcoming episodes and the season finale, set to air on Sept. 13, which is expected to include the dance scene.

Here is the beautiful room in the Stockade Bed and Breakfast in Baton Rouge [http://www.thestockade.com/]

Godric bursting into flames in Ep 9 shot in Dallas !

In today's Dallas Morning News -

'Blood' in Dallas
HBO's red-hot vampire series True Blood shot a scene recently atop the Adolphus.

"A character was on the roof and had to burst into flames when the sun came up," said Janis Burklund of the Dallas Film Commission. The scene is for the ninth episode of the second season of the show, which is set in Louisiana.

Dallas, however, has been a side trip for some of the show's characters lately. Burklund added there's a strong possibility that the show will return for additional North Texas shoots.
