True Blood has found its next bat-bleep-crazy villainess.
After an exhaustive and months-long search, sources confirm that actress Brit Morgan — best known from ABC Family’s short-lived drama The Middleman — has scored the pivotal role of Debbie Pelt, the psycho ex girlfriend of werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello).
Last month, exec producer Alan Ball told me that the juicy part — already a major component of the show’s upcoming third season — was being beefed up. “She’s going to be in more episodes,” he said, “so maybe that will have an impact on [what actress] we can get for her, which is a big question right now.”

DJ Gary Calamar Reports on the “Out 4 Blood” Concert Presented by KCRW
The Out 4 Blood concert here at the Echoplex on Friday Night was a blast, with great sets by John Doe, CC Adcock, Jace Everett, Chuck Prophet and The Pillbilly Knights with The Morning After Pills. Many of the actors from Bon Temps were there — Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Chris Bauer, Michelle Forbes, and Tara Buck. They all joined in the fun and hit the stage to introduce the bands.
There were a few bad vamps in the audience who tried to start some trouble, but they ended up retracting their fangs, drank some True Blood and rocked the night away.

Lindsay Pulsipher has also been cast in the new season of True Blood as Jason Stackhouse's new romantic interest, Crystal Norris
Earlier today I got a chance to talk to LINDSAY PULSIPHER about The Beast, in which she played Rose Lawrence and which is being made available online at Crackle.com.
Lindsay Pulsipher has also been cast in the new season of True Blood as Jason Stackhouse's new romantic interest, Crystal Norris. She talked about her experience shooting the first episode and the first weird encounter between her character and Jason....
Can you talk about your character in the show?
Lindsay Pulsipher: I can tell you a little bit of what I know. I still don't know. Like I said, with TV you kind of get thrown all these curveballs. But she's this mysterious girl that Jason Stackhouse sees. He sees her in the forest. You know how he is with the ladies. He's quite the ladies man. He sees her through the trees and his interest is piqued and then she runs away. They meet up again later in Bon Temps. They have this really amazing connection and then it goes from there.
What's the difference between working on something like 'True Blood' compared to 'The Beast'?
Lindsay Pulsipher: Well, every project is different. To be honest I've actually only shot one episode of 'True Blood'. I'm working again today. But everyone is so nice. I was a little intimidated coming into a show that's already well established and really popular and people love it. I was a little intimidated. It's like going to your first day of school, you don't really know anybody and are a little nervous but everyone is so cool and so welcoming and they love their job. You can tell that everyone loves their job. So all of that dissipated very quickly and I felt right at home instantly. Every project varies. That's not to say that 'The Beast' wasn't like that. That was amazing, too. You just tend to form these relationships with people because you're with them. You spend so much time with them. Everybody on 'The Beast' was great as well. I love the bonding. It's really great.

A Taste of True Blood: Winning Cover
Thanks for weighing in on our True Blood cover options—we received over 700 votes!
The Winner: Cover B
What I found particularly interesting about watching the vote as it happened was that the percentages stayed more or less static: whether there were 30 votes or 700, Cover B always had 70-75% of the vote.
The absolute final cover won’t match this one exactly—we’ll be making a few tweaks, partially based on your comments as well as some of our own—but it will be recognizable as the cover you all chose. And we’ll of course get the final cover up on the site (with a description of the book, a list of essays, etc.) as soon as it’s ready!

Janice Herveaux-what the hell ???
This sure isnt the wonderful Janice Herveaux Phillips from the books where she is married and owns a beauty shop in Jackson. Also in the books she is the his younger sister which makes her a non- were.
Recently killed-off Heroes cast member Dawn Olivieri has found new life — as a werewolf on True Blood.
Heroes: Will Lydia's death spell disaster for Samuel?
Olivieri will play Janice Herveaux, the sister of werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello), the actress' rep confirms to TVGuide.com.
Herveaux is described as a tough-as-nails biker chick who's somewhat protective of her younger brother. She is also into horoscopes and psychics.
Olivieri will first appear in Season 3's fourth episode, "9 Crimes." She also auditioned for the role of Debbie Pelt, Alcide's ex-girlfriend. Casting for that role has yet to be announced.
True Blood casts Joe Manganiello as Alcide
Olivieri just wrapped up a recurring role on Heroes' fourth season as Lydia, a tattooed empath and member of evil carnival leader Samuel's "family." Her previous credits include My Boys, Entourage, How I Met Your Mother and Cold Case.

Vampire Forensics - order new book today!
Mark Jenkins’s engrossing history draws on the latest science, anthropological and archaeological research to explore the origins of vampire stories, providing gripping historic and folkloric context for the concept of immortal beings who defy death by feeding on the lifeblood of others. From the earliest whispers of eternal evil in ancient Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome, vampire tales flourished through the centuries and around the globe, fueled by superstition, sexual mystery, fear of disease and death, and the nagging anxiety that demons lurk everywhere.
In Vampire Forensics, Mark Jenkins probes vampire legend to tease out the historical truths enshrined in the tales of terror: sherds of Persian pottery depicting blood-sucking demons; the amazing recent discovery by National Geographic archaeologist Matteo Borrini of a 16th-century Venetian grave of a plague victim and suspected vampire; and the Transylvanian castle of "Vlad the Impaler," whose bloodthirsty cruelty remains unsurpassed.
Jenkins navigates centuries of lore and legend, adding new chapters to the chronicle and weaving an irresistibly seductive blend of superstition, psychology, and science sure to engross everyone from Anne Rice’s countless readers to serious students of archaeology and mythology.

A Taste of True Blood: Cover Poll
One of the things I’m most excited about with the new site and this blog is the ability it gives us to have you all help shape the topics we choose to put out books on, and the books themselves.
We’re working on an anthology on True Blood (to be released this June), and we wanted to let you weigh in on the cover. We have two gorgeous potential covers (designed by the lovely and talented people at Faceout Studio), shown below. Which one would you pick?
