One of the features that the Barnes & Noble Nook has had that the Amazon Kindle lacked is the ability to lend e-books. No more.
You can now lend your Kindle books, as the feature, first reported back in October, has gone live today.
But before you get too excited about the ability to share your digital library, there are a number of key restrictions.

How does Syfy's Being Human stack up to the UK version?
From our fiend , Meredith ! Dallas is a big fan of the UK version and I'm tickled the US one looks so good!
We've seen the first three episodes of Syfy's Americanized Being Human series (a drama about a vampire, werewolf and ghost roommates). This thing has a serious shot at becoming Syfy's next hit, if they can fix a few problems. Here's the basic premise. A werewolf, vampire and a ghost all share an apartment. The werewolf and the vampire know each other from work (the vampire is a nurse and the wolf is an orderly), while the ghost is haunting their new apartment. The rest is all drama — good drama, but heaps and heaps of "When will our heroes get a break?" kind of drama. But then again, should they? After all they are "monsters" and feel the need to remind themselves of this fact in just about every episode. But more on the storylines later - let's get to the goods.
The Good:
The Script:The best part about this series is the script. It's fresh, it's fast, and it keeps the energy high and the melodrama moving. It's exactly the kind of writing style to make a paranormal drama tale palatable for all those not fully committed to the genre. You don't have to live up to the (unfair) stereotypes surrounding True Blood, Twilight and Vampire Diaries fans to enjoy this show in one way or another. That is, if you like clever dialogue

Review: 'The Radleys' Not Your Usual Vampire Novel Review: Suffering from vampire fatigue? 'The Radleys' is fun, fresh contribution to the genre
"The Radleys" (Free Press/Simon & Schuster, $25), by Matt Haig: I know what you're thinking: "Oh dear, another vampire novel? Yawn." But there's something irresistible about "The Radleys," Matt Haig's novel about a family of vampires living in a quiet English village.
For one thing, Helen and Peter Radley are non-practicing vampires — they don't kill humans or animals for blood — and they're not only raising their teenage children, Rowan and Clara, the same way, but they are also keeping their true nature a secret from them.
(In Haig's creation, vampires can reproduce the way the humans do, as opposed to conversion by blood-drinking. This is one of several ways the novel flaunts conventional vampire lore.)

Bitten by vampires Woodbridge teacher turns dream into reality
Some new things to read ...
During his final years of high school, Joshua Martyr had a vivid daydream about a sentry perched in a large oak tree outside a medieval town.
“These two figures are moving through the night and he sees them from his loft,” the 29-year-old Woodbridge resident said. “They essentially pass just beneath him and he sees that they are a little bit more than human. They’re not men really, they look like them but there’s something different about them. One of them actually is aggressive and makes its way to his loft and he has an encounter there with it. After that encounter, he barely manages to survive it, he finds himself changed.”

True Blood Christmas Carols: 'Twas the Hour Before True Blood
'Twas the Hour Before True Blood, when all through the house
not a creature was stirring, not even my spouse.
The clickers were laid by the TV with care,
I sat by the TV and started to stare.
The dog was nestled all snug in his bed,
while visions of Milk Bones danced in his head.
And Hubby in his jammies, and I in my gown,
Plopped ourselves on the sofa and settled down.
When from the TV there arose such a sight,
I bounced up and down - True Blood tonight!
The opening credits flew by in a flash,
Then the previous season was mostly rehashed.
The moon on the face of Bill Compton just shone
As he looked down at Sookie, they weren't both alone,
A dog in the bushes kept them in sight
My heart was just pounding - True Blood tonight!
With all of the plots the hour went by quick,
I knew if Lafayette was dead I'd be sick.
I hoped to see Eric, I hoped to see Pam,
I hoped to see Tara I hoped to see Sam:
"Now Jason! Now Terry!
Now, Arlene and Hoyt!
On, Jessica! On, Maryann!
On, Eggs and Andy!
To Sookie's porch!
To the front of Merlott's!
Now down to Shreveport!
Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
The plots swirled around - who would live, who would die?
Jason is making a terrible mistake,
MaryAnn smiles her smile that is fake.
And then, in a twinkling, the hour was done
I was panting for more, though I had fun.
I went over the episode to see what was planned,
I'd watch it again and again on Demand.
Then rush to the forums to visit with folks
Go over the details, make lots of jokes .
Debate the merits of Eric or Bill
Look for hidden clues, I can't get my fill.
Before I turn off the computer and turn out the light
"Happy True Blood to all, and to all a good night!"
Thanks to the forum !

True Blood Christmas Carols - I Rescind
I Rescind (sung to the tune of "Let It Snow")
Oh, the vampire outside is frightful
But in here it's so delightful
Since I won't let him in
I rescind I rescind I rescind
He doesn't show signs of stopping
And his fangs they are a popping
He snarls "You let me in!"
I rescind I rescind I rescind
When I kissed the vampire last night
I thought he was a nice guy
But now he looks like he'll bite
So I have sent him outside.
Oh the vampire's eyes are glowing
And his fangs are really showing
So I won't let him back in
I rescind I rescind I rescind

Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris Chapter 1 " Vampires=drama" Pt1
Exciting start to new book – Is it May yet??
This is my notes from the first few pages – what do you guys think ??
Finally we visit the Stackhouse attic ..Charlaine has been tempting us with it for years!
Sookie gets Claude and Dermott to help her clean it out
She makes a burn pile of stuff in driveway and separates out photos and documents into boxes. There are dolls, guns and there is also a desk and some furniture.
Later at work , she mentions this to Sam and they make a plan to see if any of the furniture has value by talking to Brenda Hesterman at Splendide’s Antiques in Shreveport the next day.
Sam was going to buy a gift from them for new girlfriend Tannalynn Hopper.
There is a new bar that is competing for Merlotte’s business called Vick’s Redneck Roadhouse with specials like “ Bring in a Bubba night “
Kennedy Keyes ( she has fascinating past of being a beauty queen turned murderer) and Danny Prideaux come in to bar and shortly thereafter a Molotov cocktail is thrown through the window, burning Sookies hair , hurting Jane Bodehouse and causing fire damage.

True Blood Christmas 2010 : Vampire Wonderland
Thanks to the geniuses at the once great HBO Forum for these classics!
(sung to the tune of “Winter Wonderland”)
Werewolves howl, are you listening?
In the dark fangs are glistening
A frightening sight, the dead walk tonight
Living in a vampire wonderland.
Over there stands a shifter
And a blood draining drifter
A typical sight in Bon Temps tonight
Walking in a vampire wonderland
Near a tombstone I can see a new grave
Soon a vampire rises from the dirt
He will want to drink blood in the worst way
Gosh I hope this isn’t going to hurt!
Later on we’ll conspire
To have sex by the fire
And face unafraid the marks that he made
Living in a vampire wonderland.

Merry Christmas from Charlaine Harris " I really, really, don’t want anyone else to ask me if I’m ready for Christmas."
BLOG
I really, really, don’t want anyone else to ask me if I’m ready for Christmas.
I’m never ready for Christmas, at least in the practical sense of having all my arrangements made, groceries bought, house clean, decorations up.
I’m always ready for Christmas in the sense that I’m always delighted to have my children home together under one roof, my husband off work, and the sound of my family stirring around the house.
The past few years, Christmases have been a bit unhappy, a bit jumbled. My mother’s failing health meant she couldn’t come to us at Christmas, and I had no siblings any longer to be with her, and we travelled up to her place. We wanted to be with her, and we were; but we also wanted to be at home. Now we will be at our own house, but we will miss her. Not a day goes by without my thinking of her, and that’s as it should be.

Golden Globe Nominations Are Announced, But Where Are The Vampires?
The Hollywood Foreign Press has released its list of nominees for the 2011 Golden Globes, and we're pleased that so many of our favorites got some recognition. So congrats Ryan Gosling, Anne Hathaway, Matthew Morrison, Emma Stone, and everyone else who got nominated; we've been rooting for you the whole time! But still, we couldn't help feel like there was one supernatural fanged creature that got snubbed this year. Where are all of our favorite vampires?
It's not too much of a stretch to have expected at least "True Blood" to be on the list. Anna Paquin won Best Actress back in 2009 and was nominated in 2010, and the show received Best Drama noms the past two years, as well. But this year it was booted from the list by the likes of "Boardwalk Empire" and "The Walking Dead," and consistent awards show favorites "Dexter," "Mad Men" and "The Good Wife." And none of the "True Blood" actors earned any recognition for their consistently awesome performances throughout the third season.

'True Blood' Season Four Gains A Werepanther And Faerie Queen
Little did we know that Bon Temps would be doubling the size of its population in the fourth season of "True Blood"! Two new cast members have joined the already humongous cast, but surprisingly enough, they aren't a part of the growing group of shapeshifters and witches moving into town. Instead, they'll round out the group of werepanthers Jason Stackhouse is presiding over in Hotshot and the faeries that Sookie is hanging out with wherever she is.
Deadline reports that "In Treatment" star Dane DeHaan has come on board "True Blood" as Timbo, one of the werepanther teens that Jason is taking care of since Crystal peaced out. Hopefully their relationship is a bit more successful than Sam's with his younger brother Tommy, though we'll see how that all pans out.

Top Ten Most Anticipated Books of 2011 : #5 Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris
Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
1. Where She Went (If I Stay #2) by Gayle Foreman
Release Date: April 5, 2011
I loved If I Stay so much that I listened to the entire audiobook in a day. And I cried like a baby! I immediately wanted to read the next one. Unfortunately, it hasn't come out yet. I'm counting down the days. I'm crossing my fingers that there will be some ARC's out there. If not, I'll be at the book store the day it comes out getting my copy.
Release Date: March 22, 2011
This book is already getting so much buzz. I've been staring at the cover in lust for weeks. I already have an electronic ARC copy and a print ARC copy. I want to read it immediately, but I put it on my debut authors challenge for 2011 before I got those and I'm forcing myself to wait until 2011. My boyfriend will be in Illinois at a wedding on New Year's and everyone else will be at home. Reading this entire book sounds like a perfect way to ring in the year by myself.
3. Delirium (Delirium #1) by Lauren Oliver
Release Date: February 1, 2011
I've become obsessed with the dystopian trend. I love it. The characters are always so strong. I'm really excited about this one. And, guess what! I won an ARC from Library Thing's Early Reviewers. I can't wait for it to get here so I can devour it.
4. Crossed (Matched #2) by Ally Condie
Release Date: Fall 2011
I know, I know! The first book just came out. But I loved it so much and I'm ready for more! It's going to be total agony waiting for this book to come out. It's one of the best books I've read all year. I have no doubt the next one will be just as exciting.
5. Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse #11) by Charlaine Harris
Release Date: May 3, 2011
The truth is that I wasn't very impressed with Dead in the Family. I was pretty disappointed actually. It was short and didn't really interest me the way the others had. This one sounds like it will be really good though. I need a Sookie fix that's funny and exciting... and has plenty of Eric. Hopefully, this one will do it for me.

'Vampire Diaries' Marathon Starts Tonight: We Recall Damon's Best Season 2 Quotes!
Of course, as tradition has it, we can't submerge ourselves into a week of "TVD" repeats without taking a look back at some of our favorite Damon (Ian Somerhalder) quotes (because let's face it, he's got the wittiest mouth out of all of 'em) and giving our fave writers (we're lookin' at you, Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec) some seriously deserved credit. Now, last season's list was full of witty quips and cunning one-liners, but this time around our favorite bad boy's been showing a little more emotion, so we couldn't resist highlighting some of his more heartfelt moments, as well. Check out our top 10 favorite Damon quotes after the jump!
10. The Episode: "By The Light Of The Moon," originally aired Dec. 9
The Setup: Jeremy asks Damon who has their eyes on Tyler Lockwood.
The Quip: "Vampire Barbie asked me if she could handle it and I said, why not? I figured if she screws up, he'd bite her, then I'll be rid of two of my problems."
9. The Episode: "Plan B," originally aired Oct. 21
The Setup: Damon confronts Mason Lockwood.
The Quip: "I look at you and I see myself. A less dashing, less intelligent version."
8. The Episode: "The Return," originally aired Sept. 9
The Setup: Damon tells Stefan he kissed Elena (who turned out to be Katherine), prompting Stefan to ask, "What do you mean you kissed her?"

7. The Episode: "The Sacrifice," originally aired Dec. 2
The Setup: Elena asks Damon why Elijah spared them.
The Quip: "If I had a dollar for every time some evil vampire surprised me."

For about two minutes, this might actually be fun. "Eric," I said, "we had sex in every position I could imagine, and some I couldn’t. We had sex in every room in my house, and we had sex outdoors. You told me it was the best you’d ever had." (At the time he couldn’t recall all the sex he’d ever had. But he’d paid me a compliment.) 10 Hottest Vampires of 2010 These bloodsuckers can sink their teeth into us any day.
2010 should go down in history as the year the vampires took over. Twilight, True Blood and Vampire Diaries have commandeered our bookshelves, televisions and movie theaters. Not that we’re complaining. With the emergence of every new vampire tome and flick comes an onslaught of stunning actors who portray these bloodthirsty undead creatures of the night made for our viewing (and fantasizing) pleasure.
Our culture’s latest obsession with these mysterious and alluring vampires may not be healthy for some girls, but it we’d be remiss if we didn’t stop and admit that we can’t help ourselves!
A dream of walking through a moonlit heavily wooded area where a gorgeous (and preferably shirtless) vampire is headed toward us makes our temperatures rise oh-so high. We are mercilessly onboard the bloodsucker bandwagon.
And with that brazen admission, we now bring you the 10 hottest vampires of 2010.

2011 Golden Globes snub 'True Blood': This could get bloody
We were pretty shocked that The Hollywood Foreign Press had no love for "True Blood's" Season 3 in the Golden Globes 2011 nominations. The Zap2it obsession was neither nominated in the best drama category nor did any of the actors get a nomination.
The series was previously nominated for both Season 1 and 2. And Anna Paquin has been nominated twice, and took home a trophy. So, what's up with the Season 3 snub?

New True Blood advertisement airing and "make your own HBO "
This is really strange huh ? what do you guys think ?
Make your own HBO http://www.makeyourownhbo.com/
From adweek
Brand: HBO Videos
Agency: BBDO Worldwide
Review Date: December 07, 2010
This holiday season, HBO reminds fans of its popular series True Blood, Entourage and Eastbound and Down that nothing beats the original. A new campaign from BBDO, New York, pushes boxed DVD sets of the shows with humorous spots showing people re-creating their favorite scenes for fans. One guy, trying to impress his True Blood-loving girlfriend, builds an elaborate smoke-spouting rig he uses to enact a tense love triangle exchange among Sookie and her two vampire suitors. His effort is met with a dumbfounded look from the girlfriend, who is probably thinking her boyfriend has some hidden demons of his own. “This holiday leave the HBO to us,” reads the onscreen copy. True, a cardboard cutout of Eric Northman just doesn’t get the blood pumping quite the same way, but the amateur theater could be funnier. Online, at www.makeyourownHBO, visitors can create and share their own clips using augmented reality technology that controls virtual sock puppets.-

"True Blood" joins other hit U.S. genre shows on RTL II including "Dexter," "Smallville," "Battlestar Galactica," "Heroes," "Stargate," "Stargate Atlantis" and "Stargate Universe." It also runs the BBC's "Torchwood."
"True Blood," which has been airing in most other major territories for some time, was created by Alan Ball and is based on "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" book series by Charlaine Harris.

Expect More TrueBlood comics and they will be co-authored by Michael " Reverend Steve Newlin" McMillian
Today publisher IDW announced plans to bring fan favorite "TRUEBLOOD" back for more monthly installments into the coming year with a second story arc in the series based upon the award winning HBO television show and popular New York Times best selling novels by Charlaine Harris. Below you can get all the details on the series thus far as well as some advance cover art.
"Actor Michael McMillian, who plays Fellowship of the Sun leader Reverend Steve Newlin, will co-author the new six-issue arc with Marc Andreyko.
"Co-writing the True Blood comic is a dream come true both as a performer on the show and as longtime comic fan. It's a real privilege to build on the rapidly growing True Blood mythology," McMillian said.
Here's how IDW describes the next arc:
"Jessica is exposed to contaminated bottles of Tru Blood, causing the lovely vampire to go berserk. It's up to Sookie, Bill and the others to figure out who (or what) is behind the bad Blood."
In addition to Jessica, several other Bon Temp residents are making their comic book debut including Hoyt, Terry, Arlene and Steve Newlin.
Joe Corroney provides the art, with covers by J. Scott Campbell.
"Marc and I are working hard to make sure the series feels like an extension of the show," McMillan said. "True Blood fans should expect lots of action, gore, sex, humor and of course, awesome cliffhangers!"

The Vulture Transcript: Anne Rice on Twilight, Her Casting Dreams for a New Lestat, and Her Ever-Evolving Religious Beliefs
Thirty-five years ago, Anne Rice single-handedly launched a permanent pop-culture vampire fixation with Interview With the Vampire, the first installment of her best-selling ten-book series The Vampire Chronicles. Today, the author is interested in a different sort of eternal life: the kind that comes from religious salvation instead of erotic damnation. Raised Irish Catholic, the author re-converted in 1998 after years as a self-avowed atheist. Her spiritual awakening was followed by a transition to more explicitly Christian material: first the Christ the Lord books, which fictionalized the early life of Jesus Christ, and most recently, the Songs of the Seraphim series, about a reformed hit man named Toby O’Dare who becomes — of course! — a time-traveling angel-for-hire. (And then in July, Rice stunned her Christian fan base by announcing — on Facebook, no less — that she was leaving organized religion “in the name of Christ.”) She is currently making appearances in New York (tonight at the Tribeca Barnes & Noble) and California to promote her second Seraphim novel, Of Love and Evil. For a sprawling Vulture Transcript, we called Rice to discuss demons and angels, and her potential new entries in her Christ the Lord series, as well as more secular topics, like her takes on Twilight and True Blood, and whether she thinks Robert Downey Jr. should succeed Tom Cruise as the next Vampire Lestat.

Vampire life explored in Dead as a Doornail
BOOK REVIEW
As if Sookie Stackhouse just doesn't have enough to worry about, Jason Stackhouse joins the supernatural world in Charlaine Harris's novel, Dead as a Doornail. The author strays from the exciting Sookie formula novels with a dry sidebar about the character's brother, Jason, who just can't see to escape trouble.
Book five finds him becoming a panther on page one, adding fear for Jason's safety to the mounting problems Sookie has since she discovered the supernatural world.
Dead as a Doornail begins with the expected change of Jason into a panther under the guidance of Calvin Norris. Since meeting Norris in Hotshot, his hankering for Sookie endears him to help her out, even with her aggravating brother causing problems on Norris' home turf with the relationship with his niece. Hotshots' secrets are now part of Bon Temps as Jason crosses over into a creature of the night. While Jason is being inducted into the culture, Sookie takes time to reminisce on her now defunct relationship with Vampire Bill. She met him at Merlottes, her full-time job that she rarely goes to because of her busy life. Working with vampires has netted her cash to keep her and her house secure for now. She can continue to work and focus on her brother, the main man in her life at the moment.

Ryan Kwanten was named Australian GQ's Man of the Year.
"True Blood" stud Ryan Kwanten was named Australian GQ magazine's Man of the Year in a sparkling ceremony, The Daily Telegraph reported on Wednesday.
Although exhausted, top prize winner Kwanten sizzled on the Sydney Opera House's red carpet Tuesday in Ralph Lauren, and said he was set to spend more time in the air than on the ground in the coming days.
Having only flown in Tuesday, he was set to fly back to Los Angeles Wednesday and go straight to the set of the cult vampire series that made him an international star.
Firass Dirani, of Australian hit show "Underbelly," took the award for TV Actor of the Year -- and unofficially won most flamboyantly dressed in an eggplant Gucci blazer.
"It's all about the suave tonight -- it's GQ," he said.

Janina Gavankar cast in True Blood Season 4
Deadline reports that in addition to Gavankar’s role as Luna, a sexy shapeshifting school teacher, Alexandra Breckenridge will also be on board as Daisy, a Wiccan in league with Marnie (series regular Fiona Shaw). Last but not least, Jessica Tuck is now a “full-fledged series regular,” the website reports. Production begins next week on the fourth season. Let’s hope it gets entertaining again.
