Secrets of a baby vampire 'True Blood's' Deborah Ann Woll on being 'made,' losing her virginity over and over

Jessica, the 17-year-old “baby vampire,” is one of the few characters that Alan Ball added to "True Blood’s" script from Charlaine Harris’ original book series. She was a virgin when Bill Compton “made” her in Season One, which means that sex is always going to be painful for her: Vampire wounds heal immediately, so her hymen can’t stay permanently torn. Deborah Ann Woll, a Brooklyn-born actress, shares some of the secret vampire knowledge she’s gained from performing the role.

The place to go to forget evil vampires: Chicago 'TRUE BLOOD' | Actress hits Chicago after 'meaty' season

Her "True Blood" character has been kidnapped, tied down with duct tape, and subjected to mind games all season long, so it probably comes as no surprise that Rutina Wesley, who plays Tara Thornton on the hit HBO series, is looking forward to some rest and relaxation.
"I can't wait to reacquaint myself with Chicago," says the actress, who will be in town for two appearances today. "And I can't wait to get in touch with fans of the show who have been so, so supportive."

Wesley, who did her undergrad at Indiana's University of Evansville, says, "I'm hoping to meet up with a good friend of mine from Joliet and just relax down on the waterfront by Buckingham Fountain."
And after the season her character has had at the hands of psychotic stalker vampire Franklin Mott (played by James Frain), you can't blame her.

True Blood: A Sam Merlotte Sad Bastard Mixtape from JefwithoneF Houston Press

HBO likes to give us a little break the week before the final episode in order for you DVR people to catch up on what you missed. (Looking at you, Captain Mongo Nelson!) Gothtopia would like to take this week's column as an opportunity to talk about a plot line we've neglected over the course of the season, namely the evermore sinful tale of Sam Merlotte.

In the books, Sam's a pretty awesome kind, just a little hang-uppy on relationships. But increasingly in the TV universe, Sam's past has revealed abandonment, murder, robbery and just an all-around tale of woe. The thing about it is... it's really interesting, but the shape shifter's family history has absolutely nothing to do with the plot. It's just a diversion for those of us who think that the "Sookie is a fairy" storyline is a wee bit too RenFest.

True Blood Music Episode 12 Finale

10 big questions before the 'True Blood' season 3 finale: Will Tara avenge Eggs death? Has Jason found true panther love? Will Eric really sacrifice himself? And, just how dumb is Sookie?

Season three has been a whirlwind of one outrageous moment to another.  There's been more blood, more nudity and more drama than arguably the first two season combined (although sadly, zero Michelle Forbes for obvious reasons). With the season finale fast approaching, here are 10 big questions we're hoping to have answered well, at least partially after "Evil is Going On" airs this Sunday, Sept. 12.

True Blood invades Boston

One thing we learned at the “True Blood’’ party at the Estate on Saturday night: Friends of Sookie Stackhouse love Boston. Or, more accurately, they don’t hate Boston. “I like Boston,’’ said “True Blood’’ cast member Rutina Wesley, who was a celebrity guest at RCN’s “True Blood’’ event in Boston for the second year in a row. “Boston’s not bad. And I’m a New Yorker, but Boston’s not bad.’’ The almost 300 fans who attended the party screamed for Wesley (who plays Sookie’s pal Tara Thornton on the show) as she danced onstage in front of the DJ. They screamed even louder when season-three newcomer Joe Manganiello walked out to greet them (above). “I love the turnout. I mean, I was a huge fan of the show, so to see all the other people who are excited about it, I identify,’’ said Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide Herveaux. When we interviewed Manganiello by phone last week before his arrival in Boston, he confessed his love of Kelly’s Roast Beef’s lobster rolls. Apparently, his Boston handlers read that in the Globe and surprised Manganiello by taking him for a Kelly’s run once he got to town. Manganiello — who brought his model girlfriend Audra Marie to the party — said his autographed picture is now on the wall at Kelly’s and at the Kowloon in Saugus. “If we could find a Dunkin’ Donuts that would put my picture up on the wall, I’d be happy,’’ he said, adding that it didn’t matter which one, as long as it’s “anywhere where blueberry coffee is served.’’ Manganiello was raised in Pittsburgh, but his parents are from the Boston area.

Crimes by Moonlight, edited by Charlaine Harris now in e-book

From Women of Mystery Blog

You may recall that I am fortunate enough to have a short story published in the MWA anthology, Crimes by Moonlight, edited by Charlaine Harris. The hard cover edition was released by Berkley Prime Crime last April. I bragged about it here.

A few people have asked me if Crimes by Moonlight is available as an e-book. I always say, “I don’t know. Haven’t seen it as such.” Well, now I do know. Both Amazon and Barnes and Noble are now carrying e-book editions. So, if you are inclined to e-readers, now’s the time.

Of course, if you want the paperback edition to carry on the subway or to the beach, you still have to wait until next spring.

'True' love: NY Post pick this season’s steamiest sex scenes

Sunday night is for lovers. It’s a night for resting from the weekend that was and preparing for the week ahead. Sometimes that means Chinese takeout followed by an episode of “Drop Dead Diva.” Other times, it’s something kinkier. Less nightie, more naked. If you haven’t guessed, I’m talking about “True Blood.”
It airs, appropriately, on Sunday nights, and on this show, the philosophy is the more certainly the merrier — especially when it
comes to sex. Luckily for me (and other single 30-somethings), we had Bill, Eric, Sam and Sookie (not to mention lesbian lady lover Pam and feisty Latin fangbanger Talbot) to spice up our summer Sundays.
“True Blood” was my summer fling. And a good one at that.
With the addition of werewolves and more shifters, there was a hell of a lot more skin exposure. Plus, from revenge sex to makeup-sex and everything in between, it was just an overall blush-worthy season.
Here, in no particular order, are The Post’s picks for the six sexiest scenes. Turn down the lights.
Episode 1
Eric in the basement of Fangtasia
The season started with a bang when Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) walked in on Eric Northam (Alexander Skarsgard) having torrid sex. “He’s indisposed at the moment,” Pam (Kristin Bauer) says to Sookie, who ignores her to find the Nordic blondie copulating with one of his new dancers, who’s standing upright, naked and bound at the wrists. “See anything you like?” asks Eric, teasing Sookie with his ripped, sweat-soaked body. “Is Bill’s stamina not up to snuff?”
The sexual tension between the two of them is palpable. Just do it already, will you?

Anne Rice asks: “True Blood fans: Do you think the ancient immortals really demonstrate enough wisdom to be credible?

I think Ms Rice and the blogger are forgetting how Godric was portrayed in True Blood or maybe even The Ancient Pythoness ?? What do you guys think ?

Anyone that follows legendary vampire author Anne Rice on Facebook knows that she is quite the fan of True Blood and often voices her opinions on the show. Not too long ago she asked her fans a question on the vampires of True Blood, a question that got me thinking.

“True Blood fans: Do you think the ancient immortals really demonstrate enough wisdom to be credible? We have yet to meet a philosophical vampire, am I right?”

5 Reasons to Get Excited for 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 2

If you were at all worried about The Vampire Diaries having a sophomore slump, your fears can go away. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the season 2 premiere, "The Return," and it is The Vampire Diaries at its best.

I'm not going to give away any major spoilers, and trust me, there are some big ones coming. Perhaps my favorite part of The Vampire Diaries is that every episode has major, game-changing events, and the season 2 premiere is no exception.

However, to get you excited before the premiere this Thursday at 8pm on the CW, here are five great things to look for.

Damon's Moment of Realization

At the end of last season Damon kissed Katherine, though he thought he was kissing Elena. In the premiere Damon has a moment where he realizes the he fell victim to "doppelganger hijinks," and the moment alone is worth the price of admission and proof that Ian Somerhalder is giving the performance of his career on this show.

Nina Dobrev as Katherine

I typically find Elena to be one of the more boring parts of The Vampire Diaries, but now that star Nina Dobrev gets to have some fun by playing Elena and Katherine, we get to see just how great she can be. Much like Somerhalder does with Damon, Dobrev sinks her teeth into the role of Katherine and makes me hope that she'll be around for a long, long time.
