Bloody Hell: 'True Blood' Sets Another Record at HBO

The news just keeps getting better for HBO.

Sunday's episode of the pay cable network's "True Blood" brought in 4.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen. That's a record tune-in for the two-year-old show, and a stunning stat given just how few home HBO reaches vs. other broadcast and cable networks.

Indeed, "True Blood's" viewer tally was higher than the premieres of some much- hyped network shows, including Fox's "More to Love" (4.0 million viewers) and ABC's "Defying Gravity" (3.6 million).

The news was also good for the other shows in HBO's Sunday lineup. Both "Hung" (3.4 million) and "Entourage" (3.2 million) had their second-best ratings of the season.

True Blood/ Sookie Trivia on Twitter: how are these things connected ?

I play True Blood/ Sookie Trivia on Twitter all the time , here is one for the blog.

Can anyone tell me how these two images are connecetd and what they have to do with True Blood?

Do you guys want me to occasionally post trivia questions here too ?

True Blood Recipe: Merlotte's Mexican Cheeseburger

This is a favorite of JB du Rone, he orders one in All Together Dead.
I believe it's just occasionally offered as 'Daily Special' at Merlotte's, but JB can always get one ;-)

Makes 4 patties

Ingredients
. 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
. 1 tablespoon chili powder
. 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
. 1/4 teaspoon salt
. 4 slices Monterrey Jack cheese with jalapenos peppers

Preparation:
Combine ground beef with seasonings; form into 8 patties, each about 1/4-inch thick.
Place a piece of cheese in the center of the patty and pressed together at the edges with cheese in the center.

Broil or grill over medium-hot coals, turning once, until done. You can add more cheese to the top of the burger. Serve on a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, sliced avocados and sliced purple onions.
* you can use Picante or Salsa as a condiment
Makes 4 large burgers

Hollywood's Most Powerful Vampires

From Forbes.com , Yes the business paper !

We're talking movie and television characters, not agents and executives. Which are the most popular and most lucrative?

Last week, the co-chief of HBO stood in front of a throng of television critics raving about the premium network's latest success. Though previous landmark series were built on gangsters and urban fashionistas, the latest ratings coup for the hitmaker is built around … vampires.

It's not surprising that True Blood has been a boon to Time Warner's ( TWX - news - people ) HBO. Since Bela Lugosi hit the screen as Dracula in 1931 these bloodsuckers have proven to be near-sure-fire moneymakers for Hollywood, tapped and retapped by producers looking to lure bodies into seats.

In Pictures: Hollywood's 10 Most Powerful Vampires

"Vampires have become a substitute for fairy tales that adults couldn't tell themselves anymore," says William Patrick Day, professor of cinema and English at Oberlin College and author of Vampire Legends in Contemporary American Culture: What Becomes a Legend Most. "Vampires are dangerous and sexy and powerful and they have what humans want--immortality."

The Vampire Flashbacks Of Our Undead Lives. Plus The Best Thing You've Ever Seen

I'm really picky about what recaps and reviews I read and even more so about what what I post but I always like io9 Meredith Woerner's "Pro and Cons"

This week was A LOT of talking on True Blood. Gabby vampires, talky humans... there was hardly any sex at all. But never fear: we've have a BIG surprise for you guys in this review, check it out. Spoilers below...

So how do you compete with last weeks amazing vampire lounge lizard moment? Easy, Melrose Place it up. This week was all feelings, elaborate costumes and tears, bloody tears. I enjoyed it, but I feel like we're moments away from the good stuff, and I can't wait to see Godric and his frat buddies unleashed on these Christian vampire haters (seriously Godric looked like the morning remnants from a Jersey Shore party, tribal arm tatt included, and after I said he looked neat a few weeks ago... Tsk, tsk.)

But I'm getting ahead of myself... onward, to the Pros and Cons of True Blood.

Con: Not even threatening the death of my beloved puppy boy can make me interested in the done-to-death sex parties. Maryann, you need a new shtick, and fast. But on the other hand, it did give us this...

Congrats to Kristin ( Vampire Pam ) Bauer and new hubby

Kristin Bauer who plays 'Pam the Vampire' on True Blood got married this past weekend to her boyfriend musician, Abri van Straten, on her family’s farm in Wisconsin.

You can send here best wishes through her website here

She writes about Abri and marriage on her website here :

Yes, that's right folks. I hunted down a man, chained him to my radiator, or coffee machine, and now that the Stockholm syndrome has finally kicked in, he has actually submitted to marriage...to me! AND he even seems thrilled about it. Here's how it all happened:
Once upoon a time way back on Dec 18, 2008, I was watching another romantically unfulfilling year draw to a close as I dragged my body off to my nutritionist's office to get a B-12 shot hoping that it could make up for all else that was lacking in my Holiday cheer. I entered the waiting room and sat down on something with pointy corners and said, "Ouch!"
I pulled a CD out from under my butt and then said, "Who's is this?" The lady next to me chirped, "It's mine! Wanna hear it?!"I was't in the mood but she turned it up anyway."
And THAT is why there is a page on my website and a ring on my finger. At that very moment, that man serenading me through the strange ladies laptop, was sitting on the other side of LA wondering why the hell he was still here when his tour was done and his band, The Lemmings, had all gone back to South Africa.
I went home from my B-12 shot, bought his latest CD "Imperceptible Shift in the Light" on iTunes and for the next three weeks my entire family fell in love with his voice while I plotted a kidnapping. My devious plot centered around an email to the band's manager that ever so subtly name dropped this little tiny show about Vampires that maybe you've heard of and oh, I do have a website...all sorts Hollywood shenanigans that felt painfully obvious and embarrassing but what's a girl to do? I blame his accent. It really isn't fair!!!

Loving True Blood in Dallas blog helps solve the True Blood FotS church mystery for Arkansas Gazette

When the Arkansas Gazette starts asking me ' Go Ask Dallas' questions then I guess I know I've reached the big time . HA!

I can finally tell you who it was that asked last weeks " Go Ask Dallas" question. It was a question posed by a reporter from The Arkansas Gazette.

Kyle Brazzel knew right away that the structure shown as the Fellowship of the Sun Church in Episode 6 of True Blood was a building designed by famed architect and Arkansas native, Fay Jones -but which one ?

Because the Sookie Stackhouse book series author, Charlaine Harris is also an Arkansas resident, this was an important source of state pride and something they wanted to report on in for the largest newspaper in Arkansas and they wanted to get it right.

Here is where I posted my answer on the blog last week , and this is also what I sent to Kyle. He very nicely mentioned the blog in yesterday's write up in the Little Rock newspaper!

Fay Jones Chapel Vamps for True Blood

True Blood behind the scenes: Fellowship of the Sun filming

'So much love comes flowing out ...' Steve Newlin

The amazing SkyRose Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park near Los Angeles ( Whittier) served as the stand-in for the FotS church in Dallas.

The chapel is one of the famous buildings designed by Arkansas native architect Fay Jones and it's gorgeous.

This was a "Go ask Dallas" question- I'll tell ya Sunday who asked
