True Blood Recipe of the week: 'Wicked Peach Cake' from the New Sookie Stackhouse Comapnion Book

You know Ol' Dallas can be a bit cynical,  but I have just loved the new Sookie Stackhouse Companion book that was released this week. Make sure you buy this one - you will love it too.
This recipe this week is from the book and is in  the wonderful recipe section found in the book. The map of Bon Temps is worth the purchase alone ... but the special Sookie novella,  Small Town Wedding has Sookie going on a trip with Sam and the Quinn relationship is resolved ....

THE OFFICIAL BLURB:Charlaine Harris has topped the bestseller charts and has become a nationwide phenomenon, thanks to the unconventional-and otherworldly- life of Sookie Stackhouse. Now, in her own words, Sookie gives readers a look at her family, friends, enemies, adventures, and-of course-the lovers who set her world on fire...

Readers will:
            • Tour Bon Temps, the small Louisiana town that Sookie calls home, and visit the houses of her Gran and her sometime vampire lover, Bill
            • Prowl around the werewolf and were-panther communities
            • Browse through her best friend Tara's dress shop
            • Belly up to the bar in Merlotte's, where Sookie works
            • Get must-have Bon Temps recipes-including Caroline Bellfleur's famous chocolate cake
            • Test themselves with trivia questions from the series

I also have a donated copy as one of the MANY, MANY prizes in the fundraiser raffle !

In honor of the Season 4 Witch War I've chosen Wicked Peach Cake from What's cookin in Bon Temps chapter. Peaches are plentiful and cheap and maybe you need something to bring to that Labor Day picnic or  True Blood finale party!

Wicked Peach Cake
1 box yellow cake mix
1 pkg. peach Jell-O
1/2 c. Peach schnapps
3-4 good sized peaches chopped to make 1 1/2 cups
1/2 box powdered sugar
Preheat the oven to 350 degress. Grease and flour Bundt cake pan.
Prepare cake mix according to box direction. Add Jell-O and 1/4 cup Schnapps. Fold in peaches. Pour mixture into pan and bake for 35-40 minmutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Let cake cool and turn onto cake plate . Mix together 1/4 cups schnapps and powdered sugar to amke glaze. Poke several holes in top of cake with ice pick ( I use a wooden spoon ) before drizzling the glaze over cake. Add more schnapps if glaze is too thick ( haha) !!

Lafayette channels Jesus's Demon and Marnie ???

True Blood’s Chris Bauer on His Limited Screen Time, Andy Bellefleur’s Ancestry, and V’s Real-Life Drug Equivalent

Will Bon Temps’ local sheriff and resident V-addict Andy Bellefleur finally get clean? Last week’s intervention episode had us feeling hopeful — and gave us insight into why Andy is the way he is (he grew up with a lot of money and no love). But when we spoke with actor Chris Bauer, we felt unsettled enough to ask him what fate awaits his troubled character: Will he finally sober up and be the hero? Of course Bauer couldn’t give us the firm "yes" we wanted to hear, but he kindly indulged our theories, and shared his thoughts on True Blood’s Emmy shutout, his limited screen time, and V’s real-life drug equivalent.
What did you think of your big intervention episode?
You know, it feels so good just to get a few extra minutes of screen time.
Is that frustrating, to share screen time with so many actors?
It could be a lot worse. But in such a good scenario, yeah, that’s what’s hard about it. I still have the challenge of trying to do the best work I can, whether I have to do that with one syllable or five scenes. At least that’s how I console myself.

Kevin Alejandro Exclusive Interview TRUE BLOOD

On the HBO vampire series True Blood, actor Kevin Alejandro plays Jesus, the handsome nurse who caught the eye of Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) when he was taking care of his mother. As Season 4 has brought the witches to the forefront of the story, and Jesus and Lafayette have been learning just how powerful they are, they’ve gotten closer and their relationship has gotten stronger, their love for each other only growing while they try to save the humans in their tiny town of Bon Temps from an inevitable vampire showdown.

During this exclusive phone interview with Collider, Kevin Alejandro talked about how cool it is to be a part of a show he was already a fan of, that he feels this season has found a good balance between all of the stories and characters, how much he enjoys playing scenes with Nelsan Ellis, how flattered he is by the fan reaction to the show, and that everyone is sure to be amazed by the craziness of the season finale. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

Question: How did you originally come to the show? Did you just audition for it?

KEVIN ALEJANDRO: Yeah, actually. But, it was something that my wife and I had been watching from the beginning, so it was cool to get to go in there and be part of a show that I was already a fan of. When it happened with True Blood, I was like, “Yeah, this is so cool.”

The Sartorially Changing Men of "True Blood"

The fourth season of True Blood has been bloodier, racier, trashier, more over-the-top, and more ridiculous than ever – and I couldn't be any happier.
Nonetheless, as I watch the fang-banging, the bloodsucking, and the general mayhem, I can't help but wonder, "Has the image of the characters changed along with the mythological Southern-fried looney storylines?"
The women easily have their trademark "style." Sookie stuffs herself into boob-hugging baby tees and camel toe-inducing Daisy Dukes; Pam displays her bitchiness via Dynasty dominatrix leather & lace and the "moon goddess" witch Marnie obviously has ambitions to be the next Chico's spokesmodel.
But what about the beloved men of Bon Temps? Upon close examination, they have probably evolved even more than the women. From Lafayette's braids and zany first season looks to Eric's finely cut suits, here's a breakdown of how three bohunks and one queen have kept their image fresh amidst the craziness of vampires, werewolves, Maenads, werepanthers, fairies, and witches

Joe Manganiello Interview: Actor Talks 'True Blood' Finale, Male Strippers & 'Magic Mike'

Fact: Joe Manganiello looks good without his shirt on.
He's already captured millions of hearts as hunky werewolf Alcide on HBO's hit show "True Blood," but Manganiello is more than just a pretty face and rock hard abs. He's a classically trained actor who studied drama at Carnegie Mellon, he's done more Shakespeare than fans would suspect, and he's been getting nude in front of audiences long before he was cast as Alcide.
"When I was in college, I did an Off-Broadway show where I was full-frontal on stage, so I guess all of these crazy parts have been coming my way for a long time," Manganiello tells The Huffington Post.
And his next crazy part includes playing a male stripper named Big Dick Richie in Steven Soderbergh's new film, "Magic Mike." Inspired by Channing Tatum's days working the pole before he became an acclaimed actor, here Tatum plays an experienced stripper who shows new kid, Alex Pettyfer, the ropes. Matthew McConaughey plays club owner and sage stripper named Dallas. Rounding out the incredibly good-looking cast is "White Collar's" Matt Bomer, Manganiello's good friend and Carnegie Mellon classmate.
But what happens when you have that much testosterone in one film? Whatever happens, Manganiello isn't feeling the pressure--after all, he's the one getting naked on a weekly basis on "True Blood." By all means, he's an old pro and dropping trou.

True Blood Cast

This is a nice list for newbie Truebies

The actors who make up the "True Blood" cast are all versatile in their craft, and educated. Some are award winners, while others have been nominated for multiple awards. A couple of the "True Blood" cast members were born abroad, and got their start in the country they hail from. All of the “True Blood” series regular cast members have become well known for portraying their specific character on the hit HBO series.
  1. Anna Paquin. She is a "True Blood" cast member who appears in every episode of the HBO series. On the show she portrays main character Sookie Stackhouse. Paquin is one of the "True Blood" cast members that has an Oscar. She won Best Supporting Actress in 1993 for her performance in "The Piano." Since then, she has been in the "X-Men" films, "A Walk on the Moon," and the 2011 horror "Scream 4." Paquin has also performed on stage in New York and London.
  2. Stephen Moyer. This "True Blood" cast member was nominated for a Satellite Award in 2010 for his portrayal of Bill Compton on the show. Prior to being on "True Blood" he created a theatre company called "The Reject Society." Born in Brentwood, Essex, Moyer made a name for himself on the British television shows "Men Only," "NY-LON," "Five's Menace," and "The Grand." In 2007 he played Sam on the popular television miniseries "The Started Wife." He is currently married to his "True Blood" cast mate Anna Paquin.
  3. Alexander Skarsgård. He is the "True Blood" cast member who plays the cold hearted vampire Eric Northman. Hailing from Sweden, Skarsgård enlisted in the military at the age of nineteen before moving to America to attend Marymount Manhattan College in New York. He has been in the movies "Zoolander," and "Straw Dogs." In 2008 he played Sgt. Brad 'Iceman' Colbert in the HBO miniseries "Generation Kill."
