Book nine will be released May 5th 2009
Hints from Charlaine on Book 9
Here is what we expect for Dead and Gone:
1) It's set after Christmas ( January)
2) Niall has a big role and there's more trouble
3) We get some of Eric's history (he hasn't always been in control of his
life)
4) We get more background on Sam's (not all of it happy) and the book opens with that
5) The FBI is involved
6) The book is darker
7) Sookie has a sex scene (as usual) and it's a good one and its' not with Sam
8 ) It will take place in Bon Temps - Sookie will not travel
9) The Weres come out
10) Quinn will be in it
11) The blood bond will be further explored- Charlaine has figured out a way to weaken the blood bond, but no indication of whether that applies to DAG, or whether it WILL be weakened.
12) The ceremonial knife used in Altogether Dead will have future importance relating to the new vampire/human marriage law (no clue as to whether that applies to DAG though)
13) Sandra Pelt is not part of Sookie's story in the next book
14) Hunter does not have a big role (or any?)
15) Sookie will be mad at Jason for a long time maybe forever
16) Barry will show up again (no indication as to whether that's in DAG - probably not since she doesn't travel)
17) Bill plays no small part
18) Sookie won't be attending Sam's brother's wedding until the spring, and that's not in DAG
19) We will get to know more about Eric's maker.
20) We will not see Eric's house maybe in book 10.
21.) We get some of Eric's history (he hasn't always been in control of his life), his sire will not be in the book but we will learn about his human children
22.) Niall has a big role and there's more trouble.
23.) Niall gets carried away by the moment pretty frequently. More about that in DAG.
24.) The issue of Sookie's pay for the summit will be covered.
25.) There will be another supernatural war and the fae will play a big part.
26.) Sookie will have surprise encounters with all of her past and present suitors.
27.) Sookie and Eric's story will be big part of DAG

Since Bill will have a small part I sure hope Eric has a major role....oh, happy day!
As always, thanks to TBinDallas for all of her hard work & dedication to keeping us all up-to-date! It's so exciting to know that Bill will back playing a major part again! Wonder why CH is holding back on Hunter.....Hmm...well now all we have to do is wait 11 days to listen to the excerpt, then we can spend the next few months speculating away, especially about the sex scene.....
I hope there will be some Eric & Sookie nookie. I still truly hope in the end, once CH finishes the series that she does end up with Eric, because he is so hottttt!!!!
The comment that "Bill plays no small part" makes me nervous. I'm Team Eric all the way. I don't want his "part" to be doing anything it shouldn't. lol The ceremonial knife is very interesting.
Does anyone think that possibly, by using the ceremonial knife, Sookie might have unwittingly married Eric? That would indeed be very interesting & would again pit Eric vs. Bill for Sookie's love!
I cannot wait for this book, I want to see Eric and Sookie get some action. This long wait is killing me...
