This is a favorite of JB du Rone, he orders one in All Together Dead.
I believe it's just occasionally offered as 'Daily Special' at Merlotte's, but JB can always get one ;-)
Makes 4 patties
Ingredients
. 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
. 1 tablespoon chili powder
. 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
. 1/4 teaspoon salt
. 4 slices Monterrey Jack cheese with jalapenos peppers
Preparation:
Combine ground beef with seasonings; form into 8 patties, each about 1/4-inch thick.
Place a piece of cheese in the center of the patty and pressed together at the edges with cheese in the center.
Broil or grill over medium-hot coals, turning once, until done. You can add more cheese to the top of the burger. Serve on a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, sliced avocados and sliced purple onions.
* you can use Picante or Salsa as a condiment
