Charlaine Harris Author Tour: Tickets On Sale Now New Zealand

Fans of HBO series True Blood and lovers of the Sookie Stackhouse novels the show is based on are in for a treat come October.
Charlaine Harris, author of the bestselling series of books which spawned the critically-acclaimed TV show, will be touring New Zealand for the first time from October 4 – 6.
Charlaine will speak at two public events – one in Auckland and one in Wellington –  and tickets, which have just gone on sale, are already in hot demand.

As well as the two speaking events, Charlaine will also appear at one in-store signing session, which takes place at Whitcoulls Botany Downs on Tuesday October 5 from 1pm – 1.20pm.

“SCREAM nominees comprise the top four grossing films of 2010, totaling a US box office of over 1 billion dollars among them, and that doesn’t even include 2009’s Avatar, the most successful film in history,” said Casey Patterson, executive producer of “SCREAM 2010” and senior vice president of event production, talent development and studio relations for Spike TV. “This October, the fans, whose reverence for these genres makes them the commercial successes that they are, will once again have their night on Spike dedicated to honoring their heroes.”
Directed by Christopher Nolan, “Inception” nabbed 15 nominations in 14 categories, one for every year the critically hailed project was in development, including nods for “The Ultimate Scream,” “Best Ensemble,” and “Fight Scene of the Year.” “Kick-Ass” was nominated in 13 categories for a total of 17 nominations, while Tony Stark’s adventures in “Iron Man 2” garnered 13 nominations. HBO’s “True Blood” had the most nominations of any television series.

'True Blood' scoop: Pam's ready for a witch hunt-video

Making a rare appearance in daylight at the Emmys, True Blood-sucker Kristin Bauer told me that she’s more than ready for what I’ve already dubbed “the season of the witch.” In fact, though her iceberg-lettuce-cool character spent much of this season being tortured and crying type-O-neg tears, she promises that before the finale, we’ll get to see Pam… Well, she describes it better than I could. Stalkers 'True Blood' Star Joe Manganiello Learns the Downside of Fame

I think this crap is the reason I don't post the paparazzi ( Anna grocery shopping , Stephen and Anna at airport) photos because so many bad things have happened from that kind of media attention. I just don't care what the actors do in their private lives ..



The werewolf Alcide Herveaux of the hit U.S. vampire series admits that he has experienced the bad side of his fame as fans have started to stalk him.

 "True Blood" rising star Joe Manganiello is quickly learning the downside of fame - he's stepped up his security measures after experiencing his first "stalker" scare. The actor has catapulted to fame opposite Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer on the hit U.S. vampire series, playing werewolf Alcide Herveaux.

But now he's extra cautious when he's out and about - because fans have started to follow him around. He tells Us Magazine, "I've had to have my car checked for a tracking device - for a stalker. It's been a little interesting. You have to take the good with the bad."

And the actor is trying his best to focus on the good, saying "It has definitely been an overwhelming amount of support. I just can't believe how much people love my character on the show. And that has just helped me feel great!"

Compared to Russell’s de-spining of a television news anchor, every other moment in this season of True Blood may seem tame by comparison. Perhaps they know that—or perhaps they know that we need to take a breath before the blow-out of the season finale—because writer Nancy Oliver and director Daniel Minahan make “Fresh Blood” a relatively quiet episode. Instead of focusing on the gory or the baroque, they deliver scenes that thrive on what isn’t said, or what’s said in a quiet voice.

Take the lovely scene where Bill and Sookie drive back from Fangtasia, after Sookie gets sprung from the wheel of misfortune. They play a game of imagining what their “normal” relationship would be like, and their dreams are heartbreakingly simple. Bill wants to be a third-grade teacher who loves his job, and he wants to go fishing with Jason. Sookie wants a big flower garden, a  real-estate license, and an occasional double date with Terry and Arlene.
That’s just so… sweet. And sad. Because even though they allow themselves a moment of fantasy, Bill and Sookie clearly know that they will never have these things: Not just because they’re together, but because Bill is a vampire and Sookie is half-fairy. The paradox is that they are human enough to appreciate what they’re missing by not being fully human. Hearing them voice that—and watching Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin convey that—drives home another rich emotion that runs through this series: Ache.

Oh, what a vampire night. Once again this show struggles to out-top itself after the infamous vampire news desk sign-off. And this being the second-to-last episode, we're starting to worry about True Blood reaching its vampire climax. NSFW.
Oh dear, True Blood. While last night's episode was stitched together with few funny quips and one tantalizing neck job, it was pretty tame. This is the second-to-last episode. It's time to bring out the big werewolf dogs, right? I'm starting to get very nervous that we're going to have a repeat of last year's double finale. One ending in season two was perfectly fine (the Godric Quantum leap) and the other was a Egg-licking cow-fisting disaster. Did True Blood already blow its vampire load thanks to the Vampire King of Mississippi's spine-ripping newscast? Because as of right now, this show it making meth addict were-panthers boring. That being said, there was some good in here, let's Pro and Con it:

Kwanten's Hidden Talent: Prankster

True Blood star Ryan Kwanten may be a sex symbol to fans, but his costars say there's much more to the hunky actor who plays the dim but endearing Jason Stackhouse.

"I think if Ryan could retire from acting and be a prankster, he would consider it," Jim Parrack, who plays Hoyt Fortenberry on the HBO hit, tells PEOPLE.

So what was one of Kwanten's more memorable pranks? "He took our cameraman's car and filled it with ladybugs," says Parrack. "He goes all out."

Meet 'True Blood's' Rising Witch, Lauren Bowles

With HBO's True Blood mastermind Alan Ball having announced that next season will be "the season of the witch" on the ultra-hot hit, no wonder Lauren Bowles is calling her casting as witch Holly on the series "completely surreal. I watched the show from the beginning, so I couldn't have been more psyched about becoming a part of this world. It didn't seem within the realm of possibility. I'm pinching myself."

Bowles' recently introduced waitress character -- a "down-by-the-bayou single mom" in addition to being a witch -- is becoming more prominent as the show speeds toward its Sept. 12 season finale. Her appearance now is said to be setting her up for next season.
