15 True Blood Spoilers: Plus, Why Powerful Vampire Eric Is "Completely Lost"
yet another take ...
Trying to get True Blood executive producer Alan Ball and the cast of the HBO series to give away anything about the upcoming fourth season is not easy. Oh, but how they love to tease! During Saturday's PaleyFest panel, we heard all about fairies, demon babies, amnesia (poor Eric!) and why — brace yourselves — Sookie and Bill are doomed for the time being.
Bill's not getting back into Sookie's, er, good graces any time soon. It's going to take a long while for her to get past Eric's big revelation in last seaon's finale: Bill (Stephen Moyer) had been sent for Sookie by Queen Sophie-Anne (Evan Rachel Wood) from the very beginning. (Bill even let Sookie get beaten to a pulp in the first episode just so she'd have to drink his blood and ensure a connection!) "The betrayal is so deep that I don't think she sees a way back from that," Ball says. "That's why we need 17 seasons!"
True Blood makes way for Eric's maker: Godric returns!
Speaking of Bill, we last saw him and the Queen, midair, ready to fight. They're weren't alone! Yes, Sookie can uninvite him from her home if she wants — Bill's still not done protecting her. "There is a bite-off [between Bill and the Queen]. Things happen," Ball says. "It's not just the two of them involved."

'True Blood' Cast Teases Season 4, Sookie's Dilemma
The entire cast of HBO's vamp-tastic True Blood held court on the second night of PaleyFest at Beverly Hills' Saban Theatre on Saturday night. Yes,16 of them, make that 17 if series creator Alan Ball is included.
Nothing earth-shattering was revealed during the session, unless you consider the incessant screams -- the longest and loudest out of all the cast members -- for tall Swede Alexander Skarsgard (Eric) during panel introductions breaking news. (Keep your eyes peeled for exclusive video interviews from the carpet with the cast and creator of True Blood.)
After a sizzle reel of the most memorable scenes from the first three seasons played, a moment from Season 4 whetted the appetite of the blood-hungry crowd. [minor spoiler alert!] The brief scene featured lovebirds Hoyt and Jessica with Pam in front of Fangtasia, as they fend off some protesters. Things get hairy, to say the least.
The topic of True Blood's large ensemble cast was frequently touched upon. New series regular Joe Manganiello (the werewolf Alcide) shared that he was itching to work with Chris Bauer (Andy) and Sam Trammell (Sam), while Kevin Alejandro (Jesus, revealed to be a witch; wiccans play a role, Ball said, adding that "they are not the bringers of evil") joked to loud laughter: "I guess Alex so I can see why everyone screams so much."

'True Blood' scoop: Sookie and Bill breakup will stick! Eric hangs with some telepathic fairies! And more...
The 500 or so fans who packed the Paley Center’s tribute to True Blood on Saturday in Los Angeles were treated to a fourth season sneak peek in which Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), Hoyt (Jim Parrack) and Pam (Kristin Bauer) encounter a protest by anti-vamp religious nuts outside Fangtasia. Hoyt defends his love for his undead date with words and fists and Pam, per usual, steals the scene with a couple of wicked quips about “post-Russell Edgington society.”
But other than the clip, Blood creator Alan Ball and the drama’s 16 cast members were loathe to share spoilers with the crowd, including details on the show’s main love quadrangle between Bill (Stephen Moyer), Sookie (Anna Paquin), Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Alcide (Joe Manganiello). When pressed to divulge the overarching theme of the fourth year, Ball put on his deep serious voice and answered, “the duality of existence.” “I come up with a stock answer each season although we don’t really think in terms of themes,” Ball continued. “The theme is true blood, more true blood. We just want to have this fantastic, escapism, emotional, sexy, romantic, terrifying journey with them because that’s really fun.”

True Blood Season Four: Vampire Eric Is "Just Gone"
When True Blood returns to HBO this summer to showcase a new menagerie of supernaturals (Blood boss Alan Ball offhandedly mentions "witches, mediums, ghosts and possessions"), all those new kids are going to have to work overtime to distract us from the real focus of this show: Alexander Skarsgård's notorious and deadly Eric Northman.
Sadly, this season, fan-fave antihero Eric won't be nearly as dangerous as usual, because...

Our favorite Viking vampire suffers from amnesia for a large portion of the season—as Skarsgård puts it, "He messed with the wrong people,"—and because he loses that crucial matchup, he also loses his memory and therefore his entire personality.
At the 28th Annual William S. Paley Television Festival in Beverly Hills, Skarsgård told assembled fans, "This powerful character is just gone—it's not what we've built up over the past three years; it is just gone. And it's a lot of fun for me because it's the polar opposite of who Eric really is…He is lost. He doesn't know how he is, he knows he's a vampire, but he slowly finds out stuff, like, 'Did I do that? I killed those people? Why would I do that? Oh. Really?' It's not easy to hear—and not knowing who he can trust, who's a friend or an enemy. He's very vulnerable."

Charlaine Harris Book and blog : she talks about reading new books, meeting Sam's family and the fast approaching Spring
I found a very interesting biography of L. Frank Baum, Finding Oz. I’ve been rereading the Oz books and wondered what kind of man he was. As I discovered, Baum was in some ways as fantastical as any of his creations. His mother-in-law was a famous feminist at a time when feminists were despised, his wife a strong-willed woman who was not as idealistically focused as her mother but who nonetheless had her own way of ruling what she considered her territory. After trying a number of ways of making a living (selling lubricant, selling knick-knacks, running a baseball team, producing a newspaper), and failing miserably at all of them, Baum moved his growing family (four sons) to Chicago at the time of the World’s Fair. Schwartz gives the reader a clear blueprint of how previous events in Baum’s life came together to inspire “The Wizard of Oz,” and it’s amazing to follow his particularly yellow brick road.
When writers lament that allowing the couple to finally come together kills the tension in a book series, I always mention Jeaniene Frost. In her Grave books, Cat and Bones are still the hot duo they’ve always been, married or unmarried. This Side of the Grave is a continuation of the ongoing story of this vampire couple as they struggle to establish a safe position in the vampire world. Cat’s unusual eating habits and lineage make her a propaganda tool in the war of the ghouls vs. vampires, and she and Bones must visit Marie Laveau to enlist her aid in the war effort. Cat’s mom has a small part in this book; she’s in training at Cat’s old stronghold, to do the sort of job Cat did before she met Bones. (Justine is a character I’ll never trust or like, and she’ll go on my little list of Fictional Characters To Throw Under a Bus.) I really enjoy Frost’s style, and I’m always happy to read a new book of hers.
She also posted about Sam's family 394 duckpond100 2011-03-03 07:50
You will meet Sam's whole family in the novella in the Sookie Companion, "Small Town Wedding."

Fresh Off Oscar Win, Trent Reznor In Talks For Role In Vampire Flick
Yes- that would be Reznor from 9 Inch Nails, amazing .
Hollywood is treating Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor pretty well these days. The industrial God picked up an Oscar last weekend for his score of The Social Network. Now he’s in talks with 20th Century Fox to not only score the upcoming adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith‘s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, he may act in the film. Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Reznor is in negotiations to play Jack Barts–the vampire who kills Lincoln’s mom.Twilight pretty much killed the whole vampire thing for us, but with Reznor on board, we admit, we’d reconsider shelling out for a matinee.

Signing Sunday for local vampire book author at The Book Nook
I love these local writers stories, he works at the Mestle plant ...it might be good!
Dunkirk native William (Billy) Wdowiasz will be signing copies of his novel, "The Forbidden Vampire: The Inception," at The Book Nook on Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. Wdowiasz, who currently works as a packing line operator in the Nestle Purina plant in Dunkirk, has been writing for pleasure since grade school. The experience of writing means a lot to him, so much so that he hand-writes his stories rather than typing them into a word processor.
"The Forbidden Vampire: The Inception" is the first in what Wdowiasz hopes will be a saga of four to six novels. From the conception phase to the actual writing, Wdowiasz refined his ideas for almost a year. Fascinated by vampires long before Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight," Wdowiasz cites "Nosferatu," Bram Stoker, Bela Lugosi, Anne Rice and, most of all, Christopher Lee (as Dracula) as forming his own version of what a vampire should be. Though these earlier portrayals created his initial sense of vampires, the "Twilight" Saga, "Underworld" Saga, and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" all contributed to his ever-widening interest in vampires. Wdowiasz boasts that he would read (and enjoy) a story about the Count Chocula cereal mascot if only someone would write it!

The Readers' Writers: Interview with best-selling author Charlaine Harris
Yes, Charlaine Harris is a New York Times best-selling author. Yes, she is quickly becoming a household name in conversations from quilting circles to high school hallways both through her writing and the advent of HBO’s “True Blood” based on her Sookie Stackhouse novels. Yes, it “only” took her a quarter century to attain this level of popularity. And, yes, she is talented — very, very talented.
But did you know, besides her husband, children, dogs and one duck, the Mississippi Delta native now living in Arkansas is passionate about improving the lives of people at home and around the world?
Harris is an advocate for Doctors Without Borders, Habitat for Humanity, the ASPCA and the Crime Lab Project. The Crime Lab Project promotes bringing crime labs into the modern age. "CSI" is TV, folks — fiction.
Q. “Dead Until Dark,” the first in the Sookie Stackhouse series, broke traditional genre boundaries and started an avalanche of new authors for enthralled readers. But all writers share a love of reading. What books or stories first captured your interest and inspired you to write?
A. “Dead Reckoning” will be on the shelves in May, but “The Sookie Stackhouse Companion” won’t be available until Aug. 30. It wasn’t shaping up as quickly as we wanted, and I had some family things to deal with, so it got moved back. “Home Improvement: Undead Edition,” the latest anthology edited by Toni L.P. Kelner and myself, will be out Aug. 2. I’ll have a story in “Down These Strange Streets” (edited by George R.R. Martin and Gardner Dozois) in October. That’s my publishing year.
I loved Poe when I was very young, and I read broadly, anything I could get my hands on. I loved “Jane Eyre,” still do. I’m a great Jane Austen fan. But I also read lots of mysteries and lots of science fiction, particularly Ray Bradbury and H.P. Lovecraft. I was born wanting to write, I think.

'True Blood' poster for PaleyFest: Pretty bloody cool.
Admittedly, this poster would be way cooler with a naked vampire on it, but I understand the concept of decency standards. So keeping those old things in mind, this poster promoting the True Blood‘s panel at PaleyFest is pretty awesome. Truth be told, it took me several glances to notice the vampire profile in the blood. Then, suddenly, it blew my mind and made me wonder if that’s supposed to be Eric or Bill. (See a larger version here.)

The Cast of 'True Blood' at PaleyFest 2011
So you're a fan of True Blood, the HBO drama about vampires, werewolves and other supernatural oddities, but can't want until June for juicy tidbits on the new season. Lucky for you the Paley Center for the Media will host the entire cast, as well as show creator Alan Ball, as part of PaleyFest 2011. Each season the show seems to one-up itself with its interesting additions of less than humanly characters. Last year there were werewolves and this year fans can expect witches to play a major role. Who knows, now that Charlie Sheen's out of work, maybe we can expect to see him in season five. All he'd have to do is play himself.
Just The Facts
What: Cast of True Blood, and show creator Alan Ball
Where: Saban Theatre; 8440 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211

HBO Inside True Blood :The Concept Meeting
I just don't get this blog... I sure hope it gets better
by Gianna Sobol
THE MEETING: The Concept Meeting
WHERE IT TAKES PLACE: True Blood conference room
WHO ATTENDS: Alan Ball, Gregg Fienberg, the writer and director of each episode, and all department heads (costume designer, stunt coordinator, extras casting, etc)
WHAT IT’S ABOUT (according to 1st Assistant Director Sunday Stevens): "The concept meeting, led by the 1st Assistant Director, is the first meeting that brings all the department heads together. We go through the script to discuss the different elements in each scene that have to be addressed. For example, if we have an action scene with a panther, we have to discuss stunts, animal wrangling, make-up effects and visual effects to figure out how to make the sequence work on the day we shoot it. This is a chance for each department head to figure out who should be doing what and how they can go about doing that. It is essentially the beginning of prep for the department heads."

Lauren Bowles Interview-Hall Pass and True Blood
Lauren Bowles reunites with the filmmaking Farrelly Brothers for the R-rated comedy Hall Pass, and at the movie's world premiere Bowles talked about the brothers and about another project she's working on: the fourth season of True Blood.
While Bowles couldn't reveal anything about what's going on the set, she did talk about her True Blood co-stars. "My answer is always when I'm asked about that, it's those pat answers that when I see other people give I'm like, 'Oh shut up! They're not all nice.' But they really are. It's like I can't tell you what a dream job it is. It's the cast, the crew, it all starts with Alan of course, but it really is just a dream job. In fact, my first day in the make-up...you get all the good scuttlebutt from like makeup and hair, so I'm like, 'Okay, how is everyone really?' And they're like, 'Really, there's not a bad apple.' She goes, 'Trust me, if they are - if someone's a pain in the ass - they don't last long.'"

True Blood Season 4 : more spoilers via Kristin
@emilyanne18 (via Twitter): Do you know any new spoilers related to season four of True Blood?
We talked to Sam Trammell this weekend at an event for the True Blood: All Right Now graphic novel, and he told us about Sam’s future, “What’s great about this year is that we explore the shape-shifter community a little bit more, so there’s going to be a lot of cool mythological stuff that we talk about, shape-shifter rules and what shape-shifters can do and who they are. Sam’s [also] got a new love interest that’s going to happen this year for him. I don’t have really good luck with the ladies, they usually die—so hopefully she’ll survive.” Everybody wish Sam’s new girlfriend luck on that whole “surviving Bon Temps” thing!
@nathalia004 (via Twitter): Do you have any True Blood scoop?
True Blood star Rutina Wesley shares, “You’re going to find out where Tara goes, and there’s going to be some happiness for her. It won’t last for long, this is True Blood. It’s a new Tara, and I think the fans are going to like it. She’s not duct-taped, she’s not tied up, she’s got this personal strength and I think it’s really awesome to see her. Sookie (Anna Paquin) and I will have some stuff this season—she’s my best friend, so we’re always going to have little moments. And we’re going to get back to how I felt about Sam Merlotte, finding out that he was a shape shifter, so we are going to have a little moment about that. And I think Lafayette’s (Nelsan Ellis) the only one that knows where I am, and he gives me some great advice.” Hmm…
@JulischkaHH (via Twitter): True Blood!
How about some Jessica-Hoyt scoop? We chatted with Deborah Ann Woll this weekend, and she told us, “[Jessica and Hoyt] ended in a very positive place but obviously that won’t last for long. We definitely pick up with a bit more trouble happening. Bon Temps is a scary place! The first two episodes are very interesting—Jim [Parrack] and I had some really fun stuff to play with like right off the bat. But maybe the first episode is my favorite as of now, just because it is the most varied.” Deborah also told us that Jessica and Bill (Stephen Moyer) grow closer this season, saying, “I think we’re definitely also in a healing stage where he’s finally accepting that he has a progeny, that he has a daughter vampire, and he needs to give me tools to actually survive. So he’s definitely more cooperative and participatory in my growing up.”
