True Blood’s Deborah Ann Woll on Vampire Tears, Jason Stackhouse, and Her Real-Life Teen Rebellion
At the tender age of 17, True Blood's quasi-innocent vampire Jessica Hamby has studied up on carnal knowledge, killed a horny trucker, and attacked her boyfriend's mom. But this works out just fine for Deborah Ann Woll, the actress who plays her, who gets to live out all her unfulfilled adolescent angst. Vulture phoned Woll for more details on her character's season-four exploits, then got to the bottom of other pressing matters, such as her favorite flavor of blood and her policy on biting folks for a photo op.
Part of being a vampire is being loyal to your maker. How would you defend your character's maker, Bill Compton, who's become a jerky politician?
He's under incredible pressure. And he has some incredibly powerful people making decisions for him. I think Bill is as disappointed with that as we are. Bill is really alone now. He doesn't have a family except Jess, and I think it's really wonderful that this season they get to [bond] quite a bit. Because things aren't going so great with [her human boyfriend] Hoyt, [Bill] is all that she has.

Carrie Preston Exclusive: True Blood Star Teases Mysterious Figure, Convergence of Storylines
We sorted out a little about Mavis ( the mystery woman) yesterday here
There's no longer a question over whether or not Sookie and Eric will have sex on True Blood. That act took place on last Sunday's "I Wish I Was the Moon."
But there is a pressing issue stemming from that episode: Who the heck was that person standing on the lawn outside of Arlene and Terry's burned-down house? The one, seemingly, seen by only their (possessed?) baby?
"That's not the last that we'll see of her," Carrie Preston teased to me today. "And it will affect other storylines, as well. From there, the show goes to an interesting place it hasn't gone to before."

Charlaine Harris Announces 3-book Graphic Novel Series: Cemetery Girl
Again the wonderful MCDallas , board moderator for CH community board told us about this Sunday night on Talk Blood Radio.
Harris does have one project already in the pipeline taking take her into unexplored territory: comic books. “I’m going to be working on a graphic novel next,” she reveals. “I’m very excited about that. It’s called Cemetery Girl with Christopher Golden, and it’s a very exciting opportunity.” Harris first envisioned the storyline – which centers on a woman who finds herself living in a cemetery with no memory of her past but a clear sense of a mysterious threat hanging over her – as a traditional novel, but back-burnered it until horror and fantasy author Golden, who’s penned prose adventures of characters like Hellboy and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, convinced her it would be a perfect fit for the graphic novel format.

If Claudine had to go ...I can almost handle it if she goes to Sherlock BBC
Its OK , Claude is going to replace Claudine as Sookie's Faerie godmother and remember they are triplets so we also see Claudette.
1. Sherlock BBC ( see on Masterpiece Mystery PBS)
2. Being Human UK see on BBC America
3. Being Human US on SyFy US
Sherlock is my favorite thing I've seen on TV this year and Being Human S3 has BLOWN me away this summer. I'm excite to see Lara Pulver and I'm thinking of starting Robin Hood-so I'll be happy to get to see more of her.
We've got some hot off the press casting news for series two of Sherlock for you, right here...
It’s been all quiet on the Sherlock series two news front for a while, as the shoot for the three new 90 minute adventures continues. But, having just got back from the Cardiff set of the production, we can confirm a brand new piece of casting news.
Lara Pulver, who has previously been seen in the likes of True Blood (where she played Claudine Crane) and Robin Hood (Isabella), has been cast in the role of Irene Adler.
Irene Adler is, of course, a romantic interest of sorts for Sherlock, although we’ve got few clues thus far as to how Steven Moffat will be approaching the character. It’s Moffat who has written the first episode of Sherlock series 2, A Scandal In Belgravia, which is set to feature the character of Adler, we understand.
Pulver, incidentally, is also appearing in the tenth series of Spooks.
There'll be more news on Sherlock as we get it. Having seen around 15-20 minutes of footage from the new series, though, we can say thus far that there’s much to look forward to...

Alexander Skarsgård talk show appearance Regis and Kelly Lee 8-3-2011
True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard paid a visit to Live! with Regis and Kelly this morning, and Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa were appropriately giddy in the presence of the man who plays Gelman’s favorite character on TV. (Pause while you process that.) They hit the standard talking points — he grew up as a child actor in an acting family, he was in the Swedish military, he doesn’t have a problem with nudity. But it was interesting to hear him articulate why he quit acting at the age of 13: “I didn’t like the attention. I didn’t know who I was, so to hear people on TV or on the radio, in newspapers, magazines talking about me and who I was and what I like was kind of confusing.”

Thanks to everyone for helping to save Talk Blood Radio especially the author, Becca Wilcott
In May I put it out on the blog and wrote to a few friends of the blog and told everyone what costs I faced just to keep the show going. Many folks responded with offers of episode sponsorships, raffle prizes and donations, but weeks before the show was set to start we still hadn't raised all the money needed to fund the show.
Enter our great friend author, Becca Wilcott -you all know her from her many appearances on Talk Blood Radio, her wonderful True Blood column from the National Post ( Canada) and especially from her FANGTASTIC book , Truly, Madly, Deadly: The Unofficial True Blood Companion . She contacted me and offered to help and wanted to make sure that at least the show could get started and that would allow me a little time to make up the difference in additional sponsorships and raffle donations.
So if you've enjoyed one episode of Talk Blood this season, if you love being in the chatroom right after the episode airs and talking with your friends about that night's happenings ..you can thank, in large part Becca.
You can email her and say thanks here beccawilcott@gmail.com
You can tweet her a little thanks @BeccaWilcott
If you have not read the book, buy it today, it's the best $7 you'll spend! Ol' Dallas is even mentioned in the book. ;-)
Becca is busy, busy this summer but has she agreed to be on our big 2 hour finale show in September !
Thanks again Becca !

'True Blood' Carrie Preston: 'Arlene is there to be ridiculed'
True Blood star Carrie Preston has admitted that Arlene is there to be laughed at.
Preston, who has played Arlene since the show began in 2008, explained that she has always tried to stop the character being solely the butt of jokes.
"The role is designed by the writers to play on the stereotype of Southerners in the media," she told The AV Club. "She's designed to be ridiculed.
"What I like about playing her is being able to ground her in some kind of truth while still honoring that humor and that thing that she represents. I love it that I'm responsible for serving up the humor on the show, but what has been wonderful for me is that the writers have also given me more dramatic things to deal with."

Charlaine Harris warns her fans to NOT believe internet rumors....
This is EXACTLY why I had Charlaine's long time board moderator, MCDallas on as my first guest for my last Talk Blood Radio show . If you haven't listened to the podcast do it now!
I had noticed lots of especially Twitter umm..lets just say"untruths " or uninformed bits of information flying around and I hope we helped a little by getting out correct information in the podcast.
Ask me if you have a question I'll help you find the right answer.
Charlaine writes .....
I'll be gone for two weeks, so please mind the babysitters – that is, the moderators – while I'm out of town. Turn off the lights when you leave the house, and lock the doors at night.
And don't take candy from strangers. That is, don't believe any of the crazy rumors you hear on other websites, without checking here to get the facts. I'm not saying this because of anything specific; but while I was touring I got an earful of stories from distressed readers who'd read statements on other websites about things I'd supposedly said. Just ask me. Sometimes, context is everything!

Charlaine Harris writes on her blog about finishing book #12 Deadlocked and lots more
Charlaine write on her blog...
I didn't have a chance to read a lot this past week, because I was working hard to finish DEADLOCKED, Sookie 12. I'm always experimenting with different ways to organize my work so I can keep track of what's going on during the course of the action in the book. This time, I think I made real progress.
The day I send a book to my editor (and my agent, and my continuity maven, and to Dana and Toni) is just about better than Christmas. Of course, the minute it's gone, I think of five things I should have done differently, but I'll have chances to make changes. All of those people will have suggestions, and I'll have days of slogging through the manuscript again trying to decide which changes to adopt and which ones to let fall by the wayside. I'll have plot holes to fill, factual errors to correct, and clumsy sentences to rewrite. And I know all this when I hit "send." But there's always the delightful feeling of accomplishment, the happiness of having done my best.
For a couple of weeks I can maintain the illusion that this time I haven't made any mistakes: that I haven't miscounted and had the action take place on Sunday (when Merlotte's is closed) or put Sookie's birthday on the wrong day, or made any of the million errors possible when a series has gone on for so many years with such a large cast. (I have no idea how George R.R. Martin is doing it.)

True Blood’s Lafayette slays gay stereotypes
While America's fascination with all things vampire seems to be cooling off, the HBO series True Blood manages to stay fresh.
Season four of the hit series is underway with one notable wrinkle central to the series being actor Nelsan Ellis' portrayal of Lafayette Reynolds, a gay cook, prostitute and "blood" dealer. Ellis' popularity on the small screen has forced producers to keep him on the show despite the character of Lafayette being killed off at the end of the first book on which the series is inspired.
What is most interesting about Ellis' portrayal of Lafayette is its departure from the norm of how most homosexual men are usually presented to television audiences. Lafayette doesn't shy away from being flamboyant yet, his flamboyance is darkly hued and coupled with a signature strength and masculinity that shows he is unashamed of who he is but fiercely defensive of the life he lives and the people he chooses to love.
The question remains, in a world still uncomfortable discussing issues of sexual orientation in an adult way, how far does a character like Lafayette go towards changing hearts and minds on what a gay man can be on screen?
