True Blood Interview: Kristin Bauer
Kristin Bauer returns as sexy vampire Pam in the third season of the award-winning hit show, True Blood which is released on DVD today.
Created by Oscar winner Alan Ball from the best selling novels by Charlaine Harris, True Blood has gone from strength to strength over three seasons – the third aired in the States in 2010 – and Pam, chief of staff to vampire chief Eric (played by Alexander Skarsgard) has become a favourite with the fans.
The youngest of three children Bauer was indeed born and raised in Racine County, Wisconsin, and as a teenager rebelled against the Ivy League path that her siblings had chosen

'True Blood' Season 4 to Reveal History Between Bill and Nan
I'm sure glad they are filling this in ....we knew there was something here
Another story from Bill's past will be uncovered in "True Blood" season 4. Recently, Jessica Tuck said that her character, Nan, shares a history with the male vampire. "All I can say is that Nan and Bill have a history," she teased, but refused to share more than that. "Details of that history will be revealed in Season 4."
In the upcoming season, Nan who is a spokeswoman for American Vampire League is assigning Bill and Eric to win back the human public after Russell's on-air meltdown. To True Blood's Nest, Jessica revealed her character has a bigger plan than just to maintaining the peace between humans and vampires.
"It would be foolish to think that her efforts were just about making humans and vamps one big happy family," the series' new regular said. "There is an agenda behind her agenda but that is not for me to reveal right now. Stay tuned."
Speaking generally of the show, Jessica dished, "Relationships between the characters get much more complicated and redefined." She went on gushing, "I love this season - I think there is a lot to sink your teeth into. You won't be disappointed."
"True Blood" season 4 will premiere Sunday, June 26 on HBO. While maintaining the relationship with the mortals, the vampires will also deal with witches who experiment with necromancy and try to discover a way to control the dead.

New 'True Blood' promo makes Eric the face of vampires: Excellent call!
Tensions between humans and vampires are running high in season 4 of True Blood following Russell Edgington’s on-air antics. Politicians are telling their constituents not to trust vampires, and, understandably, the vampires are trying to get out the message that they are as different from each other as humans are. I think Eric is the perfect vamp to deliver that message in the promo below. Mesmerized by his heavage, I would believe just about anything he said. (Bill at a ribbon-cutting ceremony sporting politician hair, on the other hand? Not at all.)

HBO Capitalizes On 'Blood,' 'Thrones," Launches Site
Eager to harness some of the social-media activity around shows "True Blood" and "Game of Thrones," HBO is launching a site to generate conversation and interaction. HBO Connect is debuting with a section prompting hungry "True Blood" fans to link up in advance of the show's return in late June.
The vampire show's TBwithdrawal.com microsite allows easier connections via Twitter hashtags, one of which is #waitingsucks, and other functions.
With conversation and connections flying all over the Web about its series, HBO is hoping to toss in some marketing messages. One of the goals is to offer a "second screen" experience, where viewers can use the site while watching. Users can log in via their Facebook and Twitter accounts and use capabilities such as "Pulse," which provides easy real-time access to popular HBO-related discussion topics and content.
There is also "Feed," which grabs all social-media content about a series, allowing interaction with Twitter feeds and each other.

'True Blood's' Alexander Skarsgard on Eric's animal instincts and fondness for tracksuits
From Dead to the World
"True enough," he said. "We vampires are all murderers."
"But in a way, you're like lions."
Eric looked astonished. "Lions?" he said weakly.
"Lions all kill stuff." At the moment, this idea seemed like an inspiration. "So you're predators, like lions
and raptors. But you use what you kill. You have to kill to eat."
"The catch in that comforting theory being that we look almost exactly like you. And we used to be you.
And we can love you, as well as feed off you. You could hardly say the lion wanted to caress the
antelope."
Suddenly there was something in the air that hadn't been there ...

A new discovery about mosquitoes reveals why vampires will never exist
Scientists have found a type of bacteria that kills off the mosquito that carries malaria. That's good news. The way the bacteria works means it could also be used to make sure there is never a plague of vampires. That's even more good news. Anopheles gambiae, the blood-sucking, malaria-carrying mosquito has been a deadly adversary to humanity for a long time. Malaria kills almost a million people per year. Researchers have come up with hundreds of potential ways to combat the disease, from engineering a malaria-proof mosquito to shooting the mosquitos that carry malaria out of the sky with lasers. This latest effort might also fight more mythical foes of humanity.

Fall TV season: Are witches the new vampires?
Guys with fangs are so last year. This fall, witches are taking over.
You'll find them on HBO's "True Blood," where Sookie will face down a coven this season. They'll be casting spells on their fellow high school students in the CW's "The Secret Circle," a drama from "The Vampire Diaries" creator Kevin Williamson. A particularly wicked one shows up in ABC's "Once Upon a Time" to place a curse on the town of Storybrook. Plus, with NBC's mystery "Grimm" riffing on various fairy tales, Hansel and Gretel's friend with the black pointy hat might soon join the others.

Your hit HBO series True Blood returns for its fourth season in June. WebMD wants to know: Do you know your own blood type?

Power Grid The 10 Greatest Vampire Archetypes
Allow Us To Explain
We’ve been in a vampir-ey mood lately. Perhaps its the success of Being Human on this side of the pond, the imminent end of the Twilight movie franchise, or maybe it’s Priest.…naaaahhh, haha, it’s not Priest.
The Vampire is a mythological creature that can function as something of a Rorschach test: it is what you make of it. Vampirism has been a metaphor for pretty much any moral threat to the social collective. Originally, vampires weren’t sexy, pretty, pale people, tormented over their fate. (Or not.) Nor did they have a penchant for Egyptian jewelry or lying around on couches in cheap velvet listening to the Smiths. They were in many ways the original zombies. You know…re-animated bodies, crawling from the grave to feast on the blood of mortals be they sexy or no.
Today, Vampires can be whatever we want them to be: recovering addicts, stunted children, sinners seeking redemption, or the object of everyone’s uncontrollable lust.
Here we have listed, for your eternal pleasure, some of the most common, most famous, most versatile vein bursting bloodletters in our contemporary culture. And believe us when we say… they all suck.

True Blood Vampires Prove Too Rude For The Tube
Vampires. These days you can't walk down the street without tripping over one. Okay, that's not true, but with movie posters, adverts and other ad campaigns for the fanged fiends almost everywhere, you get the picture... sort of. Anyway, here's some interesting news relating to True Blood Season 3's promotional ads being banned from the London Underground for 'sexual connotations'.
The ads are vying for space with prostitutes cards in the telephone boxes of our great city. See press release below:
"Smash hit TV series True Blood's vampires have proven 'too rude for the tube' and been driven from the comforting darkness of London's underground to take refuge in phone boxes across the capital. HBO's controversial new 'VILF' poster campaign to launch the third season DVD and Blu-ray release on 23 May has been banned by the tube for its sexual connotations. However, the vampires are not without a haven as the campaign has made it onto phone boxes across London from today.

Local actor spills on True Blood
The actor, who considers himself both an Australian and a New Zealander, says that while the werewolf biker gang leader was fatally shot, it doesn't mean he can't return in the next series.
"There's always a chance that Cooter may come back from the dead but I'm not telling you whether he does or he doesn't," Bowler says.
"Alan Ball (the show's creator) is the cleverist man I've ever met and I'm not alienating him for anybody," he laughs.

Sookie Stackhouse author Charlaine Harris shares with fans at the Michigan Theater
Bestselling novelist Charlaine Harris finished her book tour at the Michigan Theater last night.
The 11th installment of her immensely popular “Sookie Stackhouse” novels, "Dead Reckoning", came out this month and soared to the #1 spot on the New York Times “Best Seller” list.
The charming and funny southerner did her best not to give away spoilers Monday. But she did supply plenty of juicy tidbits to gnaw on, which were eaten up by fans of her books and the HBO hit "True Blood" — the popular television sereis based on Harris’ epic vampire-romance-horror-drama saga.

TRUE BLOOD’S ALEXANDER SKARSGÅRD FEATURED ON THE COVER OF THE JUNE ISSUE OF GQ
With his totally convincing American accent and eyes deep as a glacial fjord, Alexander Skarsgård has won over fans of HBO’s True Blood (especially the female ones). Now the Swede is ready for the big screen with three major films opening soon—one of them being Straw Dogs, where he met his current flame, Kate Bosworth. Brett Martin catches up with Skarsgård while whale-watching off the coast of California and the actor opens up about filming love scenes with Anna Paquin, his time spent in the Swedish military, his relationship with his famous father, Stellan Skarsgård, and more. I’ve pulled some key quotes for you below:
Skarsgård on the love scenes with Anna Paquin - who is married to their True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer:
“It’s really clear to Steve and to everybody else what the deal is—which is that Anna is like a sister to me... Those love scenes take quite a bit of acting, actually. A lot of acting.”
...on why he decided to join the Swedish military:
“It was my way of going off into the unknown,” he says. “I didn’t want to just be somebody’s son.”
...on LA versus his native country:
“You walk into the coffee shop, and the girl asks how your day is. When I first moved here, I loved that. I know it’s shallow and superficial and she doesn’t give a f*ck about my day, but I still like it,” he says. Sweden, by contrast, is more reserved. “It’s difficult to get to know a Swede. But once you do, you’re in,” he says. And there’s a stronger sense of boundaries. “You’re never going to see a television show The Skarsgårds.”
...on his famous father, actor Stellan Skarsgård:
“I don’t think I came to acting to compete with my father. But, you know, he wasn’t around as much as normal dads, and seeing his passion…Maybe it was a way to get his attention... I mean, if anything, we’re trying to take care of him. He’s over the hill.”
Stellan on Alex and his brothers:
“Of course I’m threatened,” he says of his sons. “They’re younger, they’re better-looking, and they’re all trying to kill me.”

Sookie Stackhouse novel 'Dead Reckoning' sprints toward series finale
Sookie Stackhouse stands in the center of a blood bath - or two or three - and wonders how her sleepy Southern life got so seriously gothic. The fang- and beast-filled soap opera centered around a telepathic barmaid began as the Southern Vampire Series in 2001. It took flight after HBO's take on the tale in 2009. The literary charm comes from the author's trademark biting wit and flair for dialogue.
This sentiment grows during the latest and 11th installment of writer Charlaine Harris' series, which is the basis for HBO's "True Blood."
The Arkansas-based writer has an affection for small, rural towns and how seemingly simple people rise to meet what can be insurmountable and complex challenges.

Nick Cave & Neko Case Cover Zombies for 'True Blood'
According to UK music mag NME, dark rock icon (and celebrated screenwriter) Nick Cave and indie folk-rocker Neko Case have collaborated on a song for the Season 4 premiere of True Blood. The pair are recording a cover of the classic "She's Not There" by '60s rockers The Zombies, a very good choice for a show packed with all manner of monsters. Find out more about their collaboration after the jump...
Cave, whose musical output has always leaned toward the dark side, teamed up with Case to do their own moody take on the 1964 pop classic (joining literally dozens of other interpretations), which will be featured during the end credits of the season premiere. According to the NME report, True Blood music supervisor Gary Calamar revealed at the Musexpo conference in Los Angeles that the episode's script originally called for Santana's classic 1977 cover, but Calamar decided to go with a brand-new version. "You always want to serve the show," he explained, "but in the back of my mind I'm always thinking about the soundtrack... The key to a good soundtrack is having fresh recordings."
That fresh creative blood will flow when True Blood kicks off the new season on June 26th.

True Blood Author Takes a Bite Out of Seattle
Vampires, check. Pale skin, check. Erotic elements, check. Forks, Washington... not quite check. Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Mystery series lacks the semi-local setting of Stephenie Meyer's teen-friendly Twilight series, but the books--and their protagonist, Sookie Stackhouse--have managed to sink their fictional fangs into the hearts (throats? eyes? brains?) of many fans, and also inspired the popular HBO series True Blood. With more than a month to go before True Blood starts a new season, vampire fanatics have some time to start catching up on the books.
Harris visits Seattle tomorrow night to read and sign copies of Dead Reckoning, the most recent installment of her "rural fantasy" Sookie series. We asked Harris a couple of questions about her approach to writing and thoughts on the television series.
How do you stay inspired throughout the series? How long do you plan to continue it?

Charlaine Harris releases 11th book in popular 'Sookie Stackhouse' series
What sucks: Waiting until June 26 for the fourth season of HBO’s “True Blood” to begin. What doesn’t: Being a fan of the books as well as the Alan Ball TV version and learning that the 11th book in the “Sookie Stackhouse” series by Louisiana native Charlaine Harris is now available.
The next title with the hot-selling “Sookie” name will come on Aug. 30 when Harris releases “The Sookie Stackhouse Companion.” That book will contain a new Stackhouse “novella” and an “exlusive interview” with Alan Ball.
