True Blood, The Obama Administration, and The Boning of Sookie
I get folks that think I agree with everything I post - I don't , sometimes I include critiques and you can take them for what they are worth. Feel free to comment.
Our critic on how Alan Ball's Southern vampire gothic has shape-shifted through four seasons into the kinkiest political metaphor of all time
Let me guess: Like the restless hipster you are, you bailed on HBO's True Blood last year if not earlier, am I right? You've got company. But maybe you don't have a better half who craved The Boning of Sookie (Anna Paquin) by blond-beast Vampire Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) the way Cubs fans crave a World Series.
Once that was on the menu—and this season built to The Boning in the understated fashion of, say, J.K. Rowling announcing a new Harry Potter book—I surrendered the remote as fast as Obama making a concession. I know which side my fingers are buttered on, put it that way.
