True Blood picks up the pace but Jessica got no game by Alex Cranz Fempop.com

The lovely Alex will be joining us again this week on Talk Blood radio !

This is the True Blood I used to love to watch. Big and crazy things happen in every scene and things almost never get tired and slow (more on this shortly) and everyone’s life seems to intertwine. It’s when True Blood is going a mile a minute that it works best. Like Vampire Diaries only rated R and less vanilla in the skin tone department.

The show is running what feels like a hundred story lines concurrently and somehow, in last night’s episode, they managed to all move forward. No one was treading water, no one was swimming backwards, and by the end of the episode it felt like they all had hopped onto a motorboat and were heading downstream and…this metaphor has gone on for far too long.
No F that. I love that metaphor. I will cling to it with my dying breath, but mainly because I want to say that Jessica was totally the captain of that motorboat down Plot River. Last week she was a little concerned about her relationship with Hoyt and this week she was doing this

“True Blood” Sucker Punch: Season 4, Ep. 8

You may remember that last week, Marnie allowed her body to become a vessel for Antonia, so Martonia was born. This week, Lafayette’s body is invaded by the spirit of Mavis, the ghost-woman who’s been haunting Baby Mikey. Therefore, it’s time to welcome… LaMavis. Politely avert your eyes as she breaks into your house and steals your baby.

For me, LaMavis is the most interesting element of “Spellbound,” the first weak episode of this otherwise strong season. As a reader mentioned in an email, Nelsan Ellis deserves a prize for physically suggesting Mavis by straightening his shirt just so and adjusting his walk to an elegant glide. He plays Lafayette as a powerful character who is equal parts masculine and feminine, so when he heightens the femininity in LaMavis, we feel it right away. Once again, Emmy voters, I ask you where the love is.
Regarding the story, LaMavis is an important counterweight to Martonia: Marnie willingly gave her body to Antonia, but Lafayette’s body is taken, just like Jason’s body was “taken” in Hotshot and just like Tommy has “taken” (or shifted into) the bodies of Sam and Maxine. Will Lafayette resist? Is there a struggle for spiritual control raging inside his body? Remember that scene in Ghost where Oda Mae forces the ghost out of her body? Will Lafayette kick Mavis out that way? That would be awesome.

Babyvamp Jessica blog: Nowhere to Go

On my fifteenth birthday, after having dinner at the church with my family, I snuck out with a few friends. We said we were going to get some root beer floats at Linnea and Tony’s Diner, but instead we went to the park one town over, where the public school kids would gather with brown bagged forties and stolen vodka. I had never been before, but my friend Erica used to go all the time and she was introducing me to everyone. I forgot most of ‘em, but there was this girl there, Nikki... she smelled kinda bad, and her hair was all tangled. I think she did it on purpose, she called them dreadlocks or something, but it didn’t look so good. I asked where she was from and she said she was born in De Soto parish, but she lived on the streets now. When I asked her why, she said got nowhere else to go. Then she shrugged her shoulders, lit up a hand-rolled cigarette and smiled at me like I was the biggest idiot she’d ever seen. I never felt so sheltered, you know? I knew I was going home to my cozy little house, where my mama would be folding my underwear and baking fresh cookies or some shit. And although my daddy could be mean as a hell, I still had a roof over my head. Even after I was turned, I had the old Compton place. And then Hoyt and I had a home, all to ourselves.
But now? I really got nowhere to go. I wonder if Nikki’s still living on the streets or if she found herself a home. Or maybe home is just a feeling, and it doesn’t matter where your feet are. Maybe wherever you are, that’s home.

True Blood Episode 4.08 Recap ‘Spellbound’

True Blood finale: What major characters die and what dead characters rise from the dead ?

OK, I think with Ep 9 on the horizon - I've been thinking a lot about the season end, denouement and cliff hanger for S5 bk 5 ...

1.At Comic- Con Ball said "We lose a handful of major characters this season." Alan Ball

2. From the Ep 12 " And When I Die" description from HBO "spirits of the dead surface in Bon Temps, giving Sookie some valuable allies to combat Marnie’s newest incarnation."

So we will have some characters dying: Debbie, Tommy, Marnie, Jesus and Ginger ( remember she dies in the book) ? Who do you think and why ?

So what characters will rise from the dead to ally with Sookie ? Gran, Claudine ?? Who else ?

Also "denizens of Bon Temps brace for a new crisis with a familiar face" V addicted weres lead by the resurrected Russell Edgington ?
What do you think the finale cliff hanger will be ??

Hoyt was watching the show Oddities which airs on the Discovery channel their fans on the Facebook page for the real shop were touting the fact that the Viking skull and Mummified cat were both featured on True Blood.
( On Talk Blood Radio with me Sunday night Brian Juergens pegged it !)
