Recap: 'True Blood' Season 2, Episode 8
From LA Times
More than halfway through Season 2 it has become clear that Alan Ball and his talented crew of writers and actors are intent on making sure that "True Blood" remains one of the most creative and patently wild shows on television.
This week's episode began with Sookie about to be raped by Fellowship of the Sun trigger man, Gabe, only to be stopped just in time by Godric and Eric. It is quickly broadcast to the church (which also happens to be having a lock-in sleepover) that a vampire is loose in the building and the church goes into lockdown mode.
In a relieving reveal we learn that Sarah has shot Jason with only a paint-ball gun. And boy, is she mad that he never told her his sister was a vampire-lover of the highest order. "You're worse than Judas," she yells.
"What did he do to you?" Jason asks. She shoots him in his man parts and he writhes in pain. Then she tells him that Sookie is in the church basement. Jason rushes to her rescue.
Back at the church, Eric and Sookie engage in flirtatious back and forths before Eric feigns a ridiculous Midwestern accent and tries to get into the church by masquerading as a human. He is quickly revealed and he and Sookie rush into the church to confront Steve Newlin and his congregation of vamp-loathing nut jobs.
Steve is wearing an amazing white suit a la Jim Bakker and announces that the war has begun. Eric steps forward and offers himself in place of Godric and Sookie (whom Newlin has called an evil whore of Satan. I get that all the time too). Eric is quickly placed on the alter and draped with silver chains, which burn his skin and keep him weak. Meanwhile, Jason shows up outside the church and tells the guards that he is a special-ops cadet with the Light of Day institute. He brandishes his gun, but the men instantly recognize it to be a paint-ball gun. They rush him, he overpowers them and sneaks into the church.

True Blood's Vampire's "Like A Virgin" Lament
Man, I think Meredith is wrong about lots of stuff this week - Complain about Godric ? Oh come on - he's just wonderful in every single way ....From io9
But her pros and cons are still funny ..
This week we learned a lot about vampire anatomy and why breaking up with a vampire is messy thing, unless you can let your 1,000 year-old Dad Vampire handle the situation. It's True Blood time.
This entire episode was packed with strange happenings and uncomfortable situations from Bill walking in on Jessica and Hoyt doin' the yelly hand-over-the-face-deed (kind of rough for the first time right?) to Godric throwing the smack down on the hair-pulling "he's mine, I'm his, we're ours and each others" cat fight. It was like one gigantic awkward vampire prom.
This week finally "dealt with the shit" we've been waiting forever to see. Huzzah action, and not just in a ho-hum naked party kind of way. Plus it was all daintily sprinkled with the light handed touch of True Blood nuance, start with the title, "Time Bomb." Why, what ever could that mean? The Pros And Cons of True Blood
Con: Godric gets another chance to prove he's more than just the other half of those smiley faced frat guy twins hanging outside of Abercrombie and Fitch beckoning tweens inside with their tiny post-pubescent muscles. How did he fall so far in one simple moment? We sang his praises for all things ridiculous and covered in fake dreadlocks, and this is how you repay us? Godric is one low strung frontal pelvic cleavage showing pair of jeans away from being written off forever. I mean if he's the big man in Dallas who is stronger than anyone and can do whatever he wants, why does he need to fit in if that's all beneath him?

New 'True Blood' blows up real good
From EW
It’s great the way nearly every episode of True Blood this season picks up right where the last one left off. Thus in the opening seconds this week, we heard Gabe’s neck make a celery-crisp snap-sound in the hands of Godric, who’d come to Sookie’s rescue.
Yet oddly enough, the increased presence of Godric in this week’s episode (oh, for heaven’s sake: SPOILER ALERT!) actually decreased some of the suspense for me. As the hour proceeded, I realized that nothing drastic was really going to occur — none of the central characters was ever in real danger — because they were in the presence of Godric, who could whirl over super-fast and save whoever needed saving. Which is not to say the hour was dull; not when a vampire says to a human, “You’re no more than a blood bag!”
Speaking of saving, Rev. Steve risked his mortal soul defying Godric. You have to hand it to Steve; he’s been cuckolded and paintballed by Jason; he saw a mighty display of power by Godric, Eric, and a passel of vampires led by a black-hatted cowboy, all right inside his own church; and he still had the nerve to proclaim to Sookie, hilariously, “The war has begun, you evil whore of Satan!”

True Blood Sucker Punch: Episode 8

Welcome to Sucker Punch, the only blog post that ranks the gaudiest moments on this week's episode of True Blood.
Warning: This post contains spoilers.

Iximng ti pu.
See what I did there? I took the phrase "mixing it up," and I mixed it up. That's because True Blood episode 2.8, "Timebomb," mixes up the meaning of two central metaphors. (I know, right? I'm so clever!)
In both cases, the allegories shift because they force us to reckon more fully with the hard facts of vampirism.
Take Jessica: She's been a consistent stand-in for teenage angst, discovering her new body and her new life while Bill stares on like an uncomfortable father. The scene where he catches her having sex with Hoyt only reinforces the dynamic.
But then Hoyt and Jessica have sex again. And Jessica discovers that her healing power regrows her hymen. Which means sex will always, always hurt.
Suddenly, Jessica is a woman who wants to make love, but whose body punishes her for it every time.

Lafayette and the Justice Tarot card
Athena was the patron goddess of Athens, credited with bringing not merely the idea of justice, but a model for justice, to Athens, Greece.
Embedded in many versions of this card is the story of the cursed House of Atreus. Atreus broke a promise to Artemis, who in turn cursed his family, which was a house or lineage descended from Pelops and from Tantalus, who had fed his own son to the gods at a dinner party.

True Blood Season 2 Possible Title Song: Ep. 8, Timebomb
This is exciting ! We now (might) know the titles of the first 9 episodes of True Blood for Season 2.
Now the one thing we know about True Blood is that the episode names come from the a song used in in the soundtrack of that episode and that it is somehow significant to that episode.
Episode 2.01 - Nothing but the Blood
Episode 2.02 - Keep this Party Going
Episode 2.03 - Changed to Scratches from Scratch My Back
Episode 2.04 - Changed to Shake and Fingerpop from Let's Take a Trip Together
Episode 2.05 - Never let me go
Episode 2.06 - Friend is a Four Letter Word
Episode 2.07 - Release me
All we know about Season 2 spoilers, casting calls etc. can be found here
We know that Alan Ball and the amazing Gary Calamar put great effort into musically curating Tr
Thanks to my friend Boadicea for suggesting that this could be a nod to a Dallas band, the Old 97s.
Episode 2.08 - Time bomb , this is only my guess, I just research the various songs with the leaked title and come up with a song I think it might be.
Time bomb maybe the song by the Old 97s from their 1997 album, Too Far to Care
The Old 97's are an alternative country band originally based in Dallas, Texas. The group formed in 1993[1] and took their name from an old country song popularized by Johnny Cash, "Wreck of the Old 97." They describe themselves as a rock band with influences as varied as the Kinks, the Beatles, the Pixies, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, and Merle Haggard. The band often performs country standards made famous by the latter two musicians, and has interspersed a number of these on their half-dozen albums over the last decade. The band originally feuded with Ryan Adams of fellow alt-country band Whiskeytown, but both are on good terms today.
Lyrics
I got a timebomb, in my mind Mom
I hear it ticking but I don't know why
I call the police, but they don't like me
I hear 'em whispering when I walk by
I got a landmine in my bloodline
I'm not immune to getting blown apart
She's like a claymore, that's what she's there for
She's waiting 'round here to get blown apart
Having her on my brain's like getting hit by a train,
She's gonna kill me. Oh Celeste, oh Celeste
I got a timebomb, in my mind Mom,
It's gonna go off, but I don't know when
I need a doctor to extract her
I got a feeling she'd get right back in again
I got a timebomb, in my mind Mom,
I got it badly for a stick-legged girl
She's gonna kill me, and I don't mean softly
I got it badly for a stick-legged girl
Having her on my brain's like getting hit by a train,
She's gonna kill me. Oh Celeste, oh Celeste, oh Celeste
Of course, it's probably just my first thought 'Timebomb' by Beck
