Gran ( Lois Smith) Stackhouse might make a comeback in True Blood Season 3

Digital spy is reporting that we might see Gran this season ...man, lot's of flashbacks with Gran and Godric, but bring it on! Imagine if he'd followed the books and killed Lafayette ?

Alan Ball has teased that Lois Smith may reprise her role as Sookie Stackhouse's grandmother on True Blood.

Smith's alter ego was last seen in season one when she was unexpectedly murdered by the town's serial killer, who was later unmasked as Rene Lenier.

"There's a chance [she may return]," Ball told Entertainment Weekly.

"I don’t think she’s gonna come back and go like, 'Oh, you know what? I'm not dead!' But she certainly can appear in flashbacks or in visions or perhaps there's a different reality that someone might go into."

Ausiello: There was no room at the inn. Per Ball, the episode she was supposed to appear in had reached capacity story-wise. “It was the show that could not be contained,” he explains. “Unfortunately, Lois was a causality of that. Sookie goes into Gran's bedroom for the first time

One of the most moving scene of the premier episode of season two had to be when Sookie goes into Gran's bedroom for the first time ...
(* in one of the interviews ball says some of the cast and crew brought thier own mementos from their mothers and grandmothers to be in Gran's house scenes as did Ball-these aren't all just stage props)

I've received a number of email questions and comments about a couple things in that scene.

1. What Charlaine book was Gran reading? ( that we see laid half open on the bed)
A. The book we see is book 8 of the Aurora Teagarden series , Poppy Done to Death by Charlaine Harris.

If you remember we saw Gran reading Last Scene Alive ( bk 7) in the Aurora Teagarden series in episode 1 in Season 1 as she waited for Sookie to come home. HERE

2. Is that the cryin' pie music we hear ?

In TB episode one, what book is Gran reading at the kitchen table while she waits (with Tina ) for Sookie to come home from work ?

She is reading Last Scene Alive ( bk 7) in the Aurora Teagarden mysteries by Charlaine Harris

Gran's ( Adele Stackhouse's) Pecan Pie

Old Fashioned Pecan Pie

1/2 cup sugar
4 Tbs. butter (softened)
2 eggs beaten
2 Tbs. flour
1 cup dark cane syrup
1/4 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 - 9" unbaked pie crust
1/2 cup pecan halves

Pre-heat oven to 375ºF. Beat together sugar and softened butter. Beat in (one ingredient at a time) eggs, flour, syrup, vanilla and salt. Fold in chopped pecans and pour into pie crust. Decorate top with pecan halves.

Bake 40 minutes on center rack until center of pie is firm.
