Joe Manganiello has opened up about shooting Alcide and Eric's (Alexander Skarsgård) naked confrontation on True Blood.
In the fourth episode of the HBO series's most recent season, Manganiello's character Alcide comes face-to-face with Eric as he swims in a lake. In the scene in question, the two fight over Sookie (Anna Paquin) entirely in the nude as she looks on.
Manganiello recalled the infamous scene, revealing that it was shot on Valentine's Day.
"It was Valentine's Day, and there's me and Skarsgård naked, screaming that were going to kill each other, with Anna in the middle and my wolf Thunder a few feet away," he told TV Line. "There were a lot of 'Happy Valentine's Day, Anna' jokes going around."
Manganiello recently revealed that he is comfortable with being naked on screen, considering nudity to be "just a typical day at the office".

'True Blood' Joe Manganiello explains Alcide, Debbie relationship
True Blood star Joe Manganiello has explained the romance between Alcide and Debbie.
The pair are back together in the fourth season and Manganiello told Digital Spy that he believes it is partly because of their werewolf genes.
"I did a lot of research on wolves and things and there's a chemical wolves secrete," he said. "It's the mate for life chemical and it's in wolves and not dogs.
"So I thought about that, and I thought about how difficult it must be for them to separate. And also growing up as a werewolf and living hidden from society, you can't open up to normal people. You couldn't just go out on a date with a human girl and tell her who you were unless you were really sure."
Manganiello continued: "It would probably make the dating pool a lot smaller. And as you found out in season three, the werewolves are a bit of a rough bunch. So it's probably slim pickings in the dating pool as far as werewolves go!"

True Blood's Joe Manganiello On An Alcide-Sookie Hook-Up, Werenudity, and Working Out
What's the first thing you cheat-eat when you finish filming True Blood?
Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles! [Somberly] But I'm actually cast in a project right now [What to Expect When You’re Expecting, playing a studly photographer opposite Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez], so it looks like I have to train for it.

Hello there Alcide - what to expect tonight on True Blood !
My friend Joe Manganiello, who portrays werewolf Alcide Herveaux on the hit HBO vampire series “True Blood” is enjoying his role, and so are his fans. Sherman Oaks reader Wendy Fujimori tells Canyon News, “I was shocked to see that Alcide had reunited with his former fiancé Debbie, and what a treat it is to see her all cleaned up and fighting her drug addiction. I hope that Joe and Alcide will be featured a lot more this season on ‘True Blood.’” Manganiello says of a recent fan experience, “This guy came up to me and said ‘Hey, can she take a picture sitting on your lap?’ and I said ‘It’s really not appropriate this is my fiancé sitting here, I really don’t think it’s appropriate,’ and he said ‘Dude, this is my wife.’ and it’s happened multiple times. I don’t know if it was like they have their freebie lists, like if you ever meet him you get the hall pass.”
Are you prepared for a spoiler alert? On Sunday night’s episode of “True Blood” titled “I’m Alive and on Fire” Alcide helps Sookie hunt for a missing and child-like Eric; Marnie searches for guidance to break the spell she cast on Eric; Bill discovers a surprising common bond with the Bellefleurs; Jason begs for liberation from Hotshot and the vicious were-panthers; Sam penetrates Luna’s inner circle; Arlene sees the writing on the wall when it comes to her new baby and Tommy returns to his roots when his parents show up to cause more trouble for him and for Sam.

True Blood’s Joe Manganiello Talks Season 4 Romances and Battles
Manganiello, 34, turned up the temperature with his smoldering performance as mysterious newcomer- and werewolf- Alcide Herveaux. True Blood fans breathed a sigh of relief when Manganiello was signed on as a regular cast member for season four.
“I love the moments where I get to play the werewolf and do some sniffing and tracking,” he said about his favorite part of the role. “Last year I loved cooking my steak and going off to eat it without a fork. I love all of those little werewolf moments. I incorporated growling into Alcide's character: If he didn't like something, he'd growl.”
According to the tall, dark, and handsome Pittsburgh native, a lot will happen on the HBO hit to bring about more guttural noises. Manganiello spoke to Parade.com about battles, babes, bare chests, and the struggle to be the big man in Bon Temps.

True Blood‘s hottest duo, Alcide/Sookie.
ausiello drops this little nugget
Question: Your True Blood spoiler from last week about Jason is torturing me. Any other details about his big risqué scene? —Stephen
Ausiello: At the Globes, Ryan Kwanten said the sequence in question elicited an “audible gasp at the table read… and for our actors to be shocked at anything is a big deal.” Remember: This has the potential to be as shocking, if not more, than last season’s head-spinning sexscapade between Lorena and Bill. Hmmm…
Question: Enough about Eric/Sookie or Bill/Sookie. Tell me something about True Blood‘s hottest duo, Alcide/Sookie. —Suzan
Ausiello: I’m 87 percent certain that there will be an Alkie (or is it Soocide?) kiss within the first six episodes of Season 4. (The margin of error is +/- 4.9 percent, so you can pretty much take this to the bank.)

Stalkers 'True Blood' Star Joe Manganiello Learns the Downside of Fame
I think this crap is the reason I don't post the paparazzi ( Anna grocery shopping , Stephen and Anna at airport) photos because so many bad things have happened from that kind of media attention. I just don't care what the actors do in their private lives ..
The werewolf Alcide Herveaux of the hit U.S. vampire series admits that he has experienced the bad side of his fame as fans have started to stalk him.
"True Blood" rising star Joe Manganiello is quickly learning the downside of fame - he's stepped up his security measures after experiencing his first "stalker" scare. The actor has catapulted to fame opposite Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer on the hit U.S. vampire
But now he's extra cautious when he's out and about - because fans have started to follow him around. He tells Us Magazine, "I've had to have my car checked for a tracking device - for a stalker. It's been a little interesting. You have to take the good with the bad."
And the actor is trying his best to focus on the good, saying "It has definitely been an overwhelming amount of support. I just can't believe how much people love my character on the show. And that has just helped me feel great!"

Joe Manganiello on Werewolf 101
The type of stranger approaching Joe Manganiello on the street has changed recently, from devotees of the CW's One Tree Hill (an apparently fanatical and legion population), on which he played bartender Owen for two seasons, to rabid True Blood fans eager to get close to Manganiello's latest character, the werewolf Alcide Herveaux.
MCKENNEY: Tell us a little about your audition process for True Blood.
MANGANIELLO: My first audition was for a different werewolf role–it was me, ten inches away from the casting director, growling in her face. It felt great. They called me back in and said they wanted me to read again, but this time for the part of Alcide. Since I was a fan of the series and had already read all the books, I knew this was a bigger role, and was totally overwhelmed when I got it.

True Blood’s Joe Manganiello Promises to Seal the Deal With Sookie
Joe Manganiello, who plays nice-guy werewolf Alcide Hervieux on True Blood, faced the daunting prospect of bringing to the screen a character already beloved by fans of Charlaine Harris’s Southern Vampire Mysteries novels. Viewers haven’t yet seen much of the romance between Anna Paquin’s Sookie Stackhouse and Manganiello’s Alcide, which takes up much of the third book, Club Dead. But, as Manganiello tells us, more is on the way.
Mike Ryan: In the third book, Alcide and Sookie’s romantic relationship seems more advanced than it does in the series.
Joe Manganiello: Well, the way that it’s been depicted so far in the series is almost exactly in line with the way that the book is. Alcide is in all of the books from the third one on, so the relationship builds from there. But we’re still in the infancy stage—them getting to know each other.
On Sunday night, Alcide spared the life of Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan). Does Alcide still harbor feelings for Debbie?
Is Alcide going to get back with Debbie? No way in hell. I think she’s psychotic. He didn’t want to get back together with her; he didn’t even want to go back in there. It was really and truly Sookie dragging Alcide back in there. Sookie’s been the catalyst for the emerging leader that comes out of Alcide, which winds up being his arc. In the book, he’s a construction worker who wants to have nothing to do with politics or anything—and really doesn’t want to have much to do with being a werewolf. It’s the unlikely story of how that unlikely hero becomes King of the Wolves, basically

'True Blood' Star Joe Manganiello Hints At Where Alcide's Story Will Take Him In Season 4
OK , darn it mark me down as a Joe/Alcide fan girl !
Almost every interview he talks about Charlaine - how could you NOT love this guy ?
Unfortunately for the "True Blood" spoiler seekers out there, the cast is just a touch too media savvy to know not to spill any big plot secrets. Take our recent chat with newly-named series regular Joe Manganiello for example, who, when asked about season 3 finale teasers, said: "The end of season 3 is nuts! What it opens up for season 4 is crazy!" (Thanks for those specifics there, Joe).

‘Blood’ brother HBO bites on fan feedback, hires Joe Manganiello as regular for hit series
He immediately began exercising with the same trainer who got Hugh Jackman in shape for the 2000 film “X-Men.”
“I was on a strict diet, and I worked out twice a day, six days a week, to make sure I was in peak form by the time filming rolled around,” Manganiello told the Herald in a telephone interview last week.
He kept up that grueling regimen for five months.
“It was a lot of work. It was like having a full-time job on the side while I’m actually working my real full-time job.”
The dedication paid off. HBO announced last week that Manganiello will be a regular on the fourth season of “True Blood.” The Pittsburgh native also is on the cover of the August issue of Muscle & Body magazine.

'True Blood' Ups Joe Manganiello To Regular
EXCLUSIVE: Joe Manganiello, dubbed the hottest new addition to HBO's True Blood this season, has been promoted to regular for Season 4. He plays hot sexy alpha male werewolf Alcide Herveaux, an iconic character in the The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels that True Blood is based on. There was a lot of buzz surrounding the casting of the role late last year before it went to One Tree Hill alum Manganiello. He was originally supposed to appear only in a handful of episodes, but I hear he impressed the show's producers and was embraced by True Blood fans, leading to his promotion to regular for next season. True Blood, which was just nominated for a best drama series Emmy, was renewed for a fourth season 2 episodes into the current third season. As for Season 3 of the vampire drama, there is a lot of chatter that some original cast members will be killed off by season's end. Creator Alan Ball and the cast might shed some light on the show's upcoming death toll at the True Blood panel at Comic-Con this afternoon.
