Sookie Stackhouse Doll on Etsy

Bill? I thought it might be Antoine, or Basil, or like Langford, maybe. But, Bill? Vampire Bill??"

This doll was inspired by the show best known for its tasty blend of sex, camp, and horror- True Blood. Sookie is painted here in her Merlotte's uniform, which is ironic since she NEVER seems to actually be at work. Wouldn't you think a psychic would be a much better waitress? Must be nice to have a boss that is in love with you...

Since we have now reached 100 members it's time to think about our 1st contest. It will be a "winter/holidays" themed True Blood/SVM Fan Art contest.

All forms of True Blood/SVM fan art are welcome as long as it has a "winter/holiday" theme. Winter holidays that will be accepted for a theme are: Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas and New Years. *You can also do a winter season themed True Blood fan art.*
Examples would be: Thanksgiving at Merlotte's, Eric as Santa, New Years at Fangtasia, Hanukkah with Sookie, Christmas at Casa Compton, Sam building a snow collie, Alcide as a winter wolf, Lafayette ice skating, Sookie dressed in a certain red jacket...etc. I'm sure you get the idea.

The contest entries will be accepted from November 5th, 2010 through January 5th, 2011.

You can enter as much fan art as you like and I have made a special folder for the entries. You do not have to be a member to enter but it would be cool if you were. All members, contributors, and admins are eligible to submit art except for myself (Riogirl9909), although I've made a pic as an example piece only. It is now posted in the contest folder.

You will be able to vote in the comment section of the I-LOVE-TRUE-BLOOD BLOG. There will be a special Blog dedicated to the contest and voting. In the comment section of the blog please write the title and artist of your favorite 3 submissions. Voting begins December 15, 2010 and ends January 15th 2011. Only members, contributors and admins will get 3 votes each to vote on the fan art pieces they most fancy.

Vampire Knits

Ha -Love this

From the Carpathian Mountains to the Louisiana Bayous, mortals adore fearing the mysterious vampire. Modern vampires are sexy, and sometimes, mortals just can’t, or don’t want to, help themselves. Surrender to the magnetism of immortal knitting; take a look at the book by Genevieve Miller, Vampire Knits: Projects to Knit from Twilight to Dawn.

The Book: Vampire Knits

Miller introduces readers to the dark arts…and crafts…through her book and its many vampire / werewolf themed projects. There are 5 chapters to the book; each chapter is organized by “purpose.” The book contains a total of 27 patterns.

True Blood craftin' with staysea

staysea says ....I had a hard time tring to figure out what pattern to do for Bill Compton.  All of my blocks are 50 x 50 and that doesn't allow for a lot of room to do anything with to much detail.  I got the idea when in season 3 they panned the camera to show Bill's sons grave.  I thought....I think I saw Bill's grave in a Season 1 episode.  And found out that in Season 1, Episode 6 Cold Ground.  It shows a photo of Bill's grave.  Excuse the photo.  I had to take a photo of the Screen to get this photo....My cross stitch is just an inspiration.

If you would like a pattern just email me at vampire craftin at gmail.

Happy craftin

Loving True Blood in Dallas fan art graphic logo- Wow!

I love hearing from you guys. All the activity and feedback during these weeks during the season truly makes all the work during the long year worth all the work . I have to share a really nice gift I received today from a fellow fan .

Thanks to the amazingly talented Devin who wrote ...

I am a huge & longtime fan of your podcasts & blog. love the insight your callers give and the generally happy feel that all of your shows have.

As a part- time graphic designer, I have been inspired for a while to do something for you, since you do so much for all of us Truebies!!
Gee thanks,  Devin ! I asked if he had a website or something and WAS BLOWN away at his amazing talent. Man, if you need a photographer in Arkansas this is your guy!!!
Check it out and thanks again for the cool graphic!

Vampire Craftin' Sookie Stackhouse cross stitch

Stacy from Vampire Craftin blog writes...I am so proud of myself, and it doesn't happen often.  I created and completed a cross stitch pattern.  I saw so many patterns on line and even those where you make a pattern from a photo and I thought "You have to be crazy"  That is like 75 different flossess and months and months of work.  So this is my version.  It on 14 count fabric.  It is 50x50 and I used 7 diffrent color flosses.  My pattern was one I hand stiched and scanned in and it is not pretty.  If you would like the pattern.  email me and I will send you what I worked from.  I plan on making one for every character on the show.

I took my Cross Stitch Pattern and made a Applique Quilt block.  The pattern and step by step instructions  are available for FREE download on my blog.  I hope to create a block for each character, and end up with a handmade True Blood Quilt.

I am using the same pattern to created a Applique Quilt block of Sookie Stackhouse.  I will post it soon.

DIY Project: Break Glass in cas of vampire attack

First you need a shadow box frame - long and skinny is ideal, but not completely necessary. I've found that the cheapest ones are those that already have something in them.  Some (especially the dollar store ones) are glued together making it difficult to take out the old stuff and replace it with your stuff. No worries. Heat the stuck areas with a heat gun as the glue is usually of the hot variety.  The glue will soften so you can pry things apart. Read on

True Blood Fan Art : Fingernail designs

I'm not kidding and they are amazing

Thank you Grace! You asked for a True Blood manicure and here is my attempt at one! I love the Sookie Stackhouse series. I love the Aurora Teagarden Series. I love the Lily Bard series. I love Charlaine Harris. Her books are so much fun to read. In fact, I've already had to have my nook e-reader replaced.. I wore the forward button out! I guess I read a lot.

The red is OPI Double Decker Red (thanks A.L!) The black is Maybelline Colorama Black Magic. The silver is Essie Opera. I thought it was funny to make this vamp a bit sparkly. Trust me. The Sookie Stackhouse vampires don't sparkle!

This is the art from the True Blood HBO series. It is also the cover art on some of the Sookie Stackhouse books. The new season of True Blood starts at 9:00 June 13 on HBO.

True Blood Fan Art: Bon Temps Gingerbread houses !

From Dianne's Dishes blog

If you follow me on Twitter or FaceBook you've probably figured out I'm a HUGE fan of the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I like the show ok too for the most part, but we won't get in to my issues about the show here. If you're really interested you can peruse the Musings category over at Daffodil Lane and see my thoughts on that subject, but the books are definitely my first love when it comes to this set of characters.

I also should tell you I'm firmly on Team Eric. I was from the very first book. My first thoughts when Eric came on the page were "Why the heck isn't Sookie with him?" Bill is ok and he has grown on me, but I just don't care for him with Sookie. I keep hoping he'll find a nice girl elsewhere, but sadly my wants and desires aren't figured in to the story! ;oP The little tidbit of my preference for Eric will become important in a moment when I explain my choice in gingerbread houses.
