Stuff happened on True Blood but all I saw was Hoyt

Our new friend Alex,  who will joining us again soon on Talk Blood Radio.

Guys I get it. Eric Northman? Not a nice guy. He was a Nazi and he’s eaten thousands of people and he was kind of stalking Sookie and sending rapey vibes her way and he once held LaFayette prisoner and he nearly killed Tara AFTER she turned awesome. So yeah. I understand the need to sweeten him up a bit. Wiping his memory? Good start! Killers who get amnesia often turn gentle like little kittens. They’re cute and cuddly and every once in a while they’ll extend their claws and cut the sh*t out of you.

See that’s perfect! It gives us an approachable Eric who can also be dangerous.

Only that’s not what we’ve been getting. We’ve been getting toddler Eric with a torso to die for.

Paola Turbay plays a witch in 'True Blood'

Go Houston !

Actress Paola Turbay has joined the cast of True Blood", a popular US television series, in the role of Antonia, a 17th century witch.
In the HBO fantasy series about vampires and werewolves and their passionate love lives, Turbay plays "a role very different from me, although sometimes at home they call me a witch", she laughingly remarked during a telephone interview with EFE from Los Angeles. However, she added that the role is "a challenge because of its complexity and depth". Antonia is a victim of the Inquisition, a spirit who is not at peace and who now arrives to complicate the lives of the protagonists, a telepath played by Anna Paquin and a vampire portrayed by Stephen Moyer. Turbay, who was born in Houston to Colombian parents....

In Florida, a Bold Alligator Is a Dead One -- NY Times
In the hour before dark, the water in the canal is almost black, the kind of water a person hates to fall into, even in dreams.
Six fishermen languidly fling lines baited with wriggling, palm-size bream into the murk, and now and then one will hook a nice bass. The others nod in admiration.

Georgina Kincaid Series -Succubus Blues

When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants. The wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical?

But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid’s life is far less exotic. Her boss is a middle-management demon with a thing for John Cusack movies. Her immortal best friends haven’t stopped teasing her about the time she shape-shifted into the Demon Goddess get-up complete with whip and wings. And she can’t have a decent date without sucking away part of the guy’s life. At least there’s her day job at a local bookstore—free books, all the white chocolate mochas she can drink, and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can’t.
But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle’s demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won’t help because Georgina’s about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny…

What to know before joining the Werewolf Cathedral

(Warning: Werewolf website includes music, so turn down your sound or put on headphones!)

Just when I thought that vampire-themed "It Gets Better" ads would be the highlight of the day, I'm introduced to the Werewolf Cathedral via a thread in the SomethingAwful.com forums. Known as "The World's Only International Werewolf Religion & Secret Society," the Cathedral's ethos is simple: Humans have lost touch with their "base instincts" that allowed their ancestors to thrive.
In order to subscribe to the Werewolf philosophy of life, one must accept Social Darwinism as gospel truth. Except for all the racist parts, of course:

We believe that man is a predatory animal, and that by unifying his intellect with his instinct he becomes more empowered to fulfill that which he wills to do. We believe that Social Darwinism is the true way nature operates, whether man finds this to be cruel or not makes no difference in regards to it's truth. We believe in dealing with the world the way it is, not how it should be. It must be stressed however that we do not condone the racist aspect of Social Darwinism that was promoted in might is right, we see it from a non racist persceptive.
