'True Blood' star defects to 'Good Wife'
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Carrie Preston — a.k.a. True Blood’s Arlene — is heading to CBS’ The Good Wife for a multi-episode arc. She’ll play Elsbeth Mann (not a typo), a member of Peter’s (Chris Noth) legal team.
The timing of Preston’s casting is sure to raise questions about the fate of her True Blood character, particularly since the HBO smash is in the midst of shooting its third season in Los Angeles. The Good Wife, meanwhile, is based in New York.

True Blood' Season 3 Gets An Official Premiere Date!
According to our good pal (otherwise known as Wikipedia), "The number 13 is associated with bad luck in some countries, and even has a specifically recognized phobia, Triskaidekaphobia." Well, throw that definition out the window because thanks to the folks in Bon Temps, that numeral should now be considered very lucky!
Why is that you ask? Oh because on Sunday, June 13, 2010, season three of the hit HBO series "True Blood" will premiere!! This is so exciting for oh-so-many reasons (you know, besides the fact that Alexander Skarsgard will finally return — naked — to our living rooms), but because we don't have enough time or space to list them all, just know that this chapter of the show will flaunt a badass new werewolf (who comes complete with real wolves), a new boy toy for Lafayette, a new girl for boy toy Jason Stackhouse, an "erotic connection" between Sam and Bill and, last but not least, cameos by Godric!!

Charlaine Harris to join Nora Roberts at Turn the Page Bookstore's WRW book signing

Harris's bestselling Southern Vampire Mysteries feature Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress in a Louisiana bar who falls in love with a vampire. The series, which began with the 2001 publication of Dead Until Dark, consists of nine volumes. Amazon.com lists a tenth title, Dead in the Family, to be released on May 4, 2010.

Pottrait of a Woman : Charlaine Harris in London !
Okay so I haven't been writing in a while *sorry*. And I do have two articles on the front burner for the record.
I am just writing a quick note to say that last Tuesday, Charlaine Harris (the incredible writer behind the Sookie Stackhouse series for the ignorants among you) was in London at the Prince Charles Cinema in collaboration with Waterstones for a Q&A with her fans and book signings. We had a promotion clip of the second season of True blood too, but as most of the other girls in the audience, I had already seen it! As you can see she signed my book (and I am not the headless dude in the back but the one in very sober and discreet pink and purple).
One word after this night: she is fantastic! When you look at her - and I don't mean to be disrespectful to people over 60 - you just think she's a sweet grandmother that you will gladly help out crossing the street. She has a sweet accent from the South (of the US that is) which just brings you to hot Louisiana with a glass of lemonade on the side.
But if anything, she is one kick ass grandmother! She is extraordinarily funny and energetic (you should have heard her tease the swooning girls in the audience with "well I actually touched Alexander Skarsgard"!). She was very humble, close and available to everyone (yes, I know, it usually helps on a promotional tour, but still).

In this bloody, creature-filled, hyper-stylized fever dream of an adaptation, Vlad is a knight in the Order of the Dragon who fights against the Turks and returns home to find that his woman has killed herself over some misinformation. He freaks out and renounces God. Stabs a cross (which bleeds). Says he'll avenge her death by defying his own, furthermore, when he returns from the grave he'll have "all the powers of darkness." Hence the whole drinking blood, crawling walls, sleeping in a coffin, shape shifting thing that follows… But prior to Coppola's version, written by James V. Hart, the Vlad/Dracula-as-we've-always-known-him connection was never fully realized except for in a 1975 documentary called In Search of Dracula in which Christopher Lee played Vlad. Yes, Lee, Hammer’s regal and deadly Dracula.

True Blood makes great TV, but it wouldn't exist without Southern belle Charlaine Harris, author of the books behind the show.
We caught up with The Southern Vampire Mysteries writer to find out what she really thinks of the show, and get the gossip on her latest novel Dead In The Family.
Charlaine was keen to tell us how proud she is of what show boss Alan Ball has done with her creation, and even admitted to being jealous of a couple of his ideas.
We also got the author's opinion on what makes vampires so damn popular these days, as well as asking for her thoughts on rival vampire saga, Stephenie Meyer's Twilight.

Charlaine Harris is unimpressed by True Blood Season 2 Voodoo sub-plot
Charlaine Harris has admitted that she is not keen on some of True Blood's sub-plots.
Harris, the author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, praised show creator Alan Ball for staying "true to the spirit of the books", but said that she was less impressed with some of the minor stories.
"There have been some sub-stories that I wasn't as nuts about as others, but there hasn't been anything I've really hated," she told Digital Spy.
"I wasn't too keen on the voodoo story, but I see now why they introduced it in the second season. Once I saw it, it all made sense."
She added: "The plot has been altered quite a bit and there's more material that I didn't write because they're having to bring in the secondary characters and buff them up.
"There are some great differences, but as Alan promised me, he is staying true to the spirit of the books - and that's what I wanted."
