Bloodsucking that doesn't suck Christopher Moore's trilogy gives readers a plot they can bite into and laugh about

For readers exasperated by the Twilight craze, Christopher Moore is here to save us from the melodrama with a vampire series that focuses more on the laughs than the lust of bloodsucking.
Bite Me: A Love Story is Moore's final book in the unofficial love trilogy, starring vampires Tommy and Jody and their non-vampire sidekick, Abby Normal. While it is pegged as a love story and, according to Moore, shows up on supernatural romance bookshelves, the story is much more a comedy that happens to have a love story plot.
People who have gotten exasperated with the wrist-to-forehead tragedy in Twilight really find relief with the comedy in my book. They want to read something a little darker, goofier, Moore said in an interview with Denver Daily News, also noting that his readership and that of Stephanie Meyers vampire work have a different readership.

You can meet Christopher, get him to autograph your book and hear him read from his book in Denver this Sun day at 2:00 pm

Stellan, Alexander Skarsgard to voice animated pic

From Variety
Voices carry 3D 'Moomins' Father and son thesps Stellan and Alexander Skarsgard plus Peter Stormare will voice the lead characters in the English-lingo version of "Moomins and the Comet Chase," the first Nordic 3D toon feature.

Pic, helmed by Maria Lindberg and produced by Tom Carpelan for Finland's Filmkompaniet, is a follow up to 2008's "Moomin and Midsummer Madness."

Both toons are based on the books and cartoon strips created by Finnish illustrator and writer Tove Jansson in 1945 about the Moomins, a family of trolls who resemble white hippos.

Much beloved in Europe, the books have been translated into more than 40 languages, and the adventures of the Moomins have been turned into films, TV series, legit plays and radio shows.

Toon is due for a fall release.

HBO to dole out 15- to 20-second teasers every Sunday night: Fans guess 'Blood' death

Post what you think is happening in the scene !

'Tr
ue Blood" storylines are locked up tight during the daylight hours, but it appears that a female character will end up six feet under by season's end.

That's what fans are taking away from a trailer released yesterday for the upcoming season of the smash-hit series.

WATCH: 'TRUE BLOOD'S' FIRST TEASER

In the 14-second teaser, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) is seen bruised and bloody, fighting with a shirtless ruffian and screaming, "Who sent you?" as Sookie Stackhouse wields a revolver.

However, it's another Merlotte waitress, Arlene Fowler (played by Carrie Preston), that fans believe to be the lady who won't live to see another season.

Carrie Preston stars as "True Blood's" Arlene Fowler.

Arlene has been at death's door before -- during both the first and second season finales. Adding fuel to the fire, Carrie just signed a multi-episode deal with CBS' "The Good Wife" and her husband told E! Online, "something shocking happens to Arlene [this season]."

HBO plans to dole out new 15- to 20-second teasers every Sunday night for the next few weeks to keep speculation going about the vampire opera, which has turned into the cable network's signature series.

Deeper Dish with Denis O'Hare ( True Blood's King Of Missisippi)

I've been a fan of actor Denis O'Hare since I saw him in the play, Lloyd's Prayer, at Chicago's Goodman Theatre in 1988. Since then he has appeared in such films as The Anniversary Party (2001), Milk (2008) and Edge of Darkness (2010) and on the television drama, Brothers & Sisters, as Rob Lowe's campaign manager, Travis March. The openly gay actor has also found great success on Broadway in the musical revivals of Cabaret (1998), Assassins (for which he received a Tony Award nomination in 2004), and Sweet Charity (2005). However, O'Hare's most memorable stage role has to be his Tony Award-winning performance as Mason Marzac, a gay business manager who falls in love with the game of baseball, in Richard Greenberg's play, Take Me Out (2003). He stole the show - even from the hunky naked actors taking a shower onstage.

Child vampire hunters sparked comic crackdown

Fr9om BB News
When Pc Alex Deeprose was called to Glasgow's sprawling Southern Necropolis on the evening of 23 September 1954, he expected to be dealing with a simple case of vandalism.

Children turn vampire hunters

But the bizarre sight that awaited him was to make headlines around the world and cause a moral panic that led to the introduction of strict new censorship laws in the UK.

Hundreds of children aged from four to 14, some of them armed with knives and sharpened sticks, were patrolling inside the historic graveyard.

They were, they told the bemused constable, hunting a 7ft tall vampire with iron teeth who had already kidnapped and eaten two local boys.

Fear of the so-called Gorbals Vampire had spread to many of their parents, who begged Pc Deeprose for assurances there was no truth to the rumours.

Newspapers at the time reported that the headmaster of a nearby primary school told everyone present that the tale was ridiculous, and police were finally able to disperse the crowd.

But the armed mob of child vampire hunters was to return immediately after sunset the following night, and the night after that.

My essay in the book is about Merlotte's, titled: Home is Where the Bar Is. It's all about how Merlotte's is like True Blood's version of Cheers, Ten Forward and all those great TV show neighborhood hang outs...and why that's important.
