I think for memorabilia they'd be cool to own one.
There are plenty of them for sale, so folks don't seem to be too worried about getting rid of their copies. I imagine tons of these go out and after they've been watched, they just go in the trash and landfil.
You are right, I wouldn't buy them for the dvd quality and they do state that there is popping and an occasional watermark title ...
I still think if you'd like to see how they present True Blood to the Emmy voters or just want a reasonably priced piece of memorabilia they are very cool..
