True Blood” Sucker Punch: Season 4, Ep. 7
—
You guys, the very beginning of “Cold Grey Light of Dawn” made me think I was going crazy. See, I’ve got a borderline addiction to the game Plants vs. Zombies. Even though I’ve beaten it three times and have completed all but one of the achievement tasks (curse you, Survival: Endless!), I just keep playing. I keep pilfering my partner’s iPad and developing new strategies for garlic and corn-pults. In fact, I had just finished a game when I fired up this week’s True Blood, and to make sure I didn’t start playing during an Alcide scene , I put the iPad on the other side of the living room.
But then the episode started… and I heard Plants v. Zombies. I almost lost my mind. Was the iPad playing for me? Did my apartment have ghost who really wanted to beat the fog levels? I was spooked.
Then, of course, I realized that Katerina, the spy that Bill placed in Marnie’s coven, was playing PvZ on her iPad as she came down to check on Marnie/Antonia in her cell. I sighed with actual relief.
But think about this: Katerina stumbles upon Luis, whose mind is under Marnie/Antonia’s control. She sees hims “attacking” Martonia and threatens to shoot him, and Martonia sics him on her. Martonia wants to escape Bill’s prison, but she also wants revenge on Katerina for being a spy… or a plant. And since Luis is under her control, he’s moving around like a zombie. It’s Plants v. Zombies: True Blood Edition. TOO MUCH!

True Blood wastes all the silver in Bon Temps and uses idiocy to forward the plot
From our new friend Alex at Fempop
Super gratuitous sex romantically shot has to be earned to avoid being same old same old T&A. You have to feel like this is the culmination of years of yearning by the two characters. Like if they don’t rip off their clothes RIGHT NOW the world will burn with their love. That means their love has to be laid out carefully and organically and the actors have to have David Duchovny/Gillian Anderson levels of chemistry.
Alexander Skarsgård and Anna Paquin are no Duchovny and Anderson. When they cuddle and trade affectionate endearments it’s so maternal I come close to lactating.

Library benefit features Laurell Hamilton, Charlaine Harris in St Louis Sept 13th
Laurell K. Hamilton and Charlaine Harris will talk about their famous vampire books at a September event to benefit the St. Louis Public Library.
Tickets are $28 and include an autographed copy of either Hamilton's "Hit List" (featuring vampire hunter Anita Blake) or Harris' "The Sookie Stackhouse Companion." You pick which book you want when you buy a ticket.
The megawatt authors will answer questions about their books Sept. 13 at Christ Church Cathedral, 1210 Locust Street. It's across the street from the beautiful library, which is closed for a multimillion-dollar renovation.
Harris, whose Sookie is the star of HBO's sexy, scary "True Blood," will be in town for Bouchercon, the crime convention. Hamilton, whose Anita Blake series was a forerunner of the fantasy/horror/erotica mixed-genre trend, lives in St. Louis County.
Subterranean is selling books for the event (there will be no signing at the event, however). For more details, go to its website. Buy tickets at Brown Paper Tickets.

Top Five TV Vampires
So we decided to raise the stakes (!) here at Number TEN and pick our favourite TV bloodsuckers of all time.
1. Alexander Skargsard in True Blood
Yes, we're with EW on this. Skarsgard's vampire is one of the meanest bloodsuckers on the box - a 1,000 year old Viking (Northman!) who is also the sheriff of the undead down on the Bayou. In other words, what he says goes. Skarsgard's Northman is a complex character - a beguiling mixture of brawn and brawn and beauty - who adds bite to a series that is in danger of losing its grip. His scenes with Sookie sizzle and he's a damn sight more compelling than goody-two shoes, Bill Compton.
2. Kurt Barlow in Salem's Lot
Salem's Lot was the scariest thing on TV at the fag-end the 1970s: even scarier than Garda Patrol and its flashing blue light. The mini-series' horror pedigree was impeccable. It was adapted from a Stephen King novel, it was directed by Tobe 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' Hooper and it starred James Mason and, er, David Soul (hey you can't win 'em all). Anyway it was Reggie Nalder as the balding and befanged head vampire, Barlow, who had us all spinning in our sleep - bedevilled by images of this whey-faced monster looking into sight (Barlow's image was based on the classic vampyr, Nosferatu). Check it out.

Haha - we will try to talk to Meredith this Sunday night on Talk BloodRadio !
Dear vampire God, last night's True Blood was a whole lotta nothing for a long damn time. There were about 45 minutes of important vampire meetings and then five minutes of vampire screaming into the wind.
But let's break it down pro/con style, shall we? Spoilers ahead...
True Blood tells you to Go Silver Yourself Con: Once again a security guard at King Vampire Bill's fortress is playing Plants vs Zombies. Good job at being a security guard,

True Blood’s Janina Gavankar reveals the dark secrets of shapeshifter dinner parties
On this season of True Blood, one of the new faces around Bon Temps is Luna Garza, a skin-walking elementary school teacher who gets mixed up in the unceasing train wreck that is the life of shapeshifting restauranteur Sam Merlotte.
At Syfy's Comic-Con party, actress Janina Gavankar gave us her theory of how Luna and Sam met. Janina also expressed a desire to see more odd-toed ungulates round out the show's cast.
This season, Sam, Luna, and the other Louisiana shifters formed a shapeshifter supper club. Will we ever learn the origins of this magical dinner party?

Some upcoming spoilers from E!Online
E!Online spoiler column.
Bb123: Dying for some True Blood…especially on Jessica dying. Is she still alive?
I believe so, yes. I’m told that we’ll soon see her inside the witch store with Fiona Shaw, watching Bill (Stephen Moyer) out in front doing something very bad. Like, you know, life or death kind of bad. Oh…I’ll just come right out with it: Bill kills someone! Or, more accurately (not grammatically though) is that Bill kills someones. As in plural. Also hearing that Tara (Rutina Wesley) somehow injures her arm, and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) will be packing (up) something other than heat. Lots of good stuff coming up.
