Twilight in Forks is the definitive DVD documenting the town of Forks made famous by the Twilight books and movies.
Since the Twilight movies weren't filmed in the real Forks, this is your opportunity to see the town that Stephenie Meyer based her epic teen romance books on. Are there truly vampires and werewolves there? Hear from the real people living their lives in the town fans know and love, including the Chief of Police, the Forks Outfitters employee who gets mistaken for Bella, and the vampire transplant who plays the real-life role of Alice. Visit Forks High School, hear self-described Jacob s grandfather tell the legend of how the Quileutes descended from wolves, and see many more of the people and places that make Forks and La Push the perfect setting for the Twilight Saga

American Vampire #1 - new comic series with Stephen King
Vampires seem to have overtaken zombies as the most overexposed horror entity in pop culture lately. From True Blood to Twilight, however, they seem to have stopped being scary and are portrayed more as romantic leads. Because of this, it is quite refreshing to see them portrayed as monsters in DC/Vertigo’s newest ongoing series American Vampire. It’s just a shame that, in the two eighteen-page stories featured in this issue, we get maybe five total pages of actual vampire action.
Co-written for at least the first five issues by Scott Snyder and legendary horror novelist Stephen King, American Vampire centers around two main protagonists. The first story in the book, penned by Snyder, is devoted to Pearl Jones, an aspiring actress in 1920’s Hollywood who, while working as a stand-in for a well-known movie actress, is invited by the film’s leading man to attend a party being held at the director’s home. While getting ready to go to the party, a mysterious drifter who has been hanging out frequently outside her apartment tells her that it would not be in her best interest to go. She ignores his warning, of course, which she soon finds out is a big mistake. To risk spoiling the big reveal at the end of the story, which shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone, she should be sporting a new set of fangs by the beginning of the next issue.

Andrew Wrathall interviews Charlaine Harris, the author behind True Blood
Charlaine Harris’ successful Sookie Stackhouse series is the basis of the addictive TV series True Blood. Harris is touring Australia in September (Sydney and Melbourne) as a guest at Hub Production’s True Blood events, on the 25th and 26th of September and will then be doing a book tour for Hachette. Number 10 in the Sookie series Dead in the Family is published by Gollancz in June. Season 3 of True Blood will screen on Showcase in August.
True Blood fan and Bookseller+Publisher publishing assistant Andrew Wrathall asked Harris a few questions for LiteraryMinded…

How did the character of Sookie Stackhouse come about?
I was in a slump, and decided to attempt to change my career. Instead of writing conventional mysteries, I thought it would be fun to write a novel with paranormal elements. I decided to write a book about a young woman who decided to date a vampire, and I built her character around that. Everything flowed from that one central concept.

Again , No Bubba and more Lorena
Question: Do you know if True Blood’s third season will feature Bubba? He’s not exactly a major character in the books, but I still love him. —Kristal
Ausiello: Unfortunately, Alan Ball says he couldn’t figure out a way to introduce Bubba “without it being cheesy,” adding, “I don’t know how to do it without either using an Elvis impersonator, which is cheesy, or having somebody and never seeing their face, just hearing their voice — and to me that sounds equally cheesy. So that’s just one of the casualties of the transfer from book to screen.”
Question: Hello fellow Smurf lover! Any new scoop on the upcoming season of “True Blood”? —Candy
Ausiello: I’m 90 percent certain this is new: Mariana Klaveno is returning as Bill’s maker, Lorena, for roughly six episodes.

Amazon 'Dead in the Family' description
Amazon Dead in the Family description
After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Faery War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she's angry. Just about the only bright spot in her life is the love she thinks she feels for vampire Eric Northman. But he's under scrutiny by the new Vampire King because of their relationship. And as the political implications of the Shifters coming out are beginning to be felt, Sookie's connection to the Shreveport pack draws her into the debate. Worst of all, though the door to Faery has been closed, there are still some Fae on the human side-and one of them is angry at Sookie. Very, very angry...

Andy Swist True Blood March Contest!
March madness
Last month in honor of Valentines Day, I held a caption contest for a Holiday inspired cartoon. The prize awarded was a 4x6 sketch of the winner's choice of True Blood characters. The winner was DeeDee, and can you guess what character she picked? Here's a clue:
Well, seeing as this month is St.Patricks Day I suppose it's time for another contest.
This time I'm going to pick a person completely at random that's posted a comment. The winner will get a 4x6 sketch of their favorite BUFFY the Vampire Slayer character!
Why BUFFY? Well, I happen to be watching them all on DVD right now. I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out who my favorite character is. I'm torn between Giles and Willow. But really, I love them all. Right now I'm on season three, or is it season four? It's the season that they go off to college. Anyways, I love this show and hope you all do too. You do... don't you?
However, you can only post ONCE! Be fair: one chance per customer.
(Lissen up, DeeDee: I'm barring you from this contest so someone else can win, OK?)
So rub something Irish, and hope the luck transfers with your post.
The contest starts now until March 29th! Happy St.Paddy's and good luck to you!
