'Being Human' is perfect for 'True Blood' fans

If you like "True Blood," you'll find "Being Human" a treat of the dark kind. This BBC America show takes some of the same themes as "True Blood," but of course, spins them with British flair. CatScott, who loves "True Blood," breaks it down:

CatScott: A vampire, werewolf and ghost walk into a pub. If you're waiting for the punch line, there isn't one. This particular scene is straight out of BBC America's new summer dramedy "Being Human." With only six episodes in the entire season, there's a lot of story packed into each 60 minutes.

"Being Human," a wonderfully written paranormal show, asks what being human means. Does humanity end with the changing of DNA? Do you lose your humanity simply because you've died? Is humanity something to be regained if lost?

Mitchell, a vampire not by choice but by bargain; George, a werewolf after an unfortunate vacation in Scotland; and Annie, a very lonely ghost only the boys can see, all long for what they can't have: their humanity.

Each has a hard time coping with life, or death, as they know it. They reach out to each other during each of their dark moments. They create a family out of necessity and understanding.

Thank you so much for introducing this to me. It looks awesome! And another thing -- Mitchell the vampire would make a perfect Alcide on True Blood!
