Charlaine Harris to attend Writers for Readers in North Carolina

There is still time to purchase your ticket to see five award-winning authors at the Orange County Literacy Council's annual Writers for Readers Gala Reception and Book Luncheon on February 14th & 15th, 2010. This year's luncheon includes:

  • National Book Award Finalist Dorothy Allison (Bastard Out of Carolina)
  • Southern short story writer George Singleton (Pep talks, Warnings, and Screeds)
  • Lee Stringer, writer and advocate for the homeless (Grand Central Winter)
  • Short story author Wells Tower (Everything Ravaged, Everything Burned)
  • and novelist Charlaine Harris, whose Sookie Stackhouse series is the inspiration for HBO's hit vampire saga True Blood.

I've not read any of the books here
but i do remember"Bastard Out of
Carolina and watched it when it was
done as a movie was really good.I am
sure the book is alot better.Of corse
i have read Ms.CH's Sookie books and
can't wait for DITF to come out in may.
