The Collected Wit and Wisdom of True Blood's Jason Stackhouse
The lovely Patty from IWANTTOWRITEFORTRUEBLOODBLOG sends us ..
It seems that on every True Blood fan site, blog and wiki, it is always Eric, Eric Eric, Bill, Bill Bill.
Don't you just get a bit tired of it all?
Irrespective of the predictable cries of the "noooo ... we love Eric, Eric Eric, Bill, Bill Bill!", I think it is time to redress the balance or as Jason would say: "What we need is a divergence."
In this post I celebrate that fine, dumb as a box full o' hair, sex-god, Jason Stackhouse. And it is his mind (or lack thereof) that I love, as much as his physique.
So to that end here is the collected wit and wisdom of Jason as revealed in True Blood Seasons 1 and 2.
In TB Season 1 we got to see the more (ahem) physical side of Jason, so the audience didn't really have a chance to appreciate his native wit and unique take on life.

Twilight: New Moon: A movie tour with added bite
Unless you have been asleep in a coffin filled with earth from your mother country, you will know by now about the Twilight phenomenon and its impact on the small town of Forks, in Washington state. The bare bones: in 2003, a tyro writer called Stephanie Meyer, who lives in Arizona, decided to set her toothy teenage vampire saga in a place where the gloomy weather would enable the Cullen coven (who live off animal blood) to attend school on cloudy, rain-sodden days. She discovered that a struggling logging town called Forks was the downpour capital of America, so it is there that the pale and interesting Edward Cullen is drawn to the equally wan human Bella Swan. Visitors began to trickle into the town in 2006, drawn to key locales such as the high school where the lovers first meet, unkempt, driftwood-strewn La Push beach, with its dramatic sea stacks, and the spooky, moss-draped rainforests. Then came the movie franchise — the second instalment of which, New Moon, opens here on Friday — and tourist numbers leapt a thousandfold above what a dazed chamber of commerce now refers to as BT — Before Twilight.

On The Town: True Blood Stars At Florida Hotel
It might surprise you that vampire blood is like your blood.
They both save lives.
If you're familiar with the hit HBO series, you know that V-juice can improve the health and libido of humans who drink it. Vampires drink synthetic blood so they don’t have to kill humans to survive. So, the actors are in town hoping you will donate blood during their very first True Blood Convention. It kicked off Friday at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center at the Florida Mall.
Actor Todd Lowe was the first to arrive. He plays "Terry," a shell-shocked veteran. The actors will get fired if they reveal too much about the new season - season 3, but this is what we could get out of him.

On the trail of vampires
From Los Angeles Times
Even before 'Twilight' and 'True Blood' helped raise their pop-culture profiles, vampires had left their marks in many places
Vampires have long been objects of fascination in history, literature and lore. With the Nov. 20 release of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," HBO's "True Blood" and their countless imitators, Americans are welcoming vampires into their homes again. Though many consider Transylvania to be the lair of vampirism, there's plenty of vampire culture right here. Whether you have just come out of the coffin or long thirsted for night life, these locations offer plenty of opportunities to explore the dark side.
Exeter, R.I.
In the late 18th and early 19th centuries in New England, many believed vampires were the source of the rampant transmission of tuberculosis. According to folklorist Michael Bell, author of "Food for the Dead," there are at least 40 documented cases in which corpses were exhumed and their vital organs burned and stakes driven through the hearts in attempts to halt the alleged vampires from spreading the disease.
The most famous case of exhumation is that of Mercy Brown of Exeter, whose brother Edwin had contracted tuberculosis. Because of the cold temperatures and the fact that she had recently died, Mercy's heart still contained blood that was not frozen or blackened. It was decided that she was a vampire, Edwin was forced to drink her blood, and Mercy's vital organs were burned. H.P. Lovecraft, who's buried in Providence's Swan Point Cemetery, wrote about Mercy's case in "The Shunned House." It's also said that Bram Stoker used Mercy as reference for "Dracula."

Vampires get their day in the sun
From Gaston Gazette
It seems like vampires are everywhere nowadays.
From the critically-acclaimed HBO show “True Blood” to the highly anticipated theater release of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” the second installment of Stephanie Myer’s phenomenally successful “Twilight” series, many folks have a heightened awareness of the mythical creatures.
But while it may appear that more vampires are coming out of the coffin, they’ve managed to remain a fixture of our imaginations for more than 100 years.
“Vampires are such a part of popular culture that there’s one on ‘Sesame Street’ and you have a breakfast cereal,” said Dale Koontz, a communications instructor at Cleveland Community College and author of “Faith and Choice in the Works of Joss Whedon,” which tackles the deeper issues the writer addresses in his TV shows such as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Andy sent us some great True Blood paper doll extras
Just wanted to let you know I made some more "extras" for my True Blood dolls. Just uploaded it, and there's fun stuff for Jason, Lafayette... And Bill (Of course). I gave Bill some cool shades to wear with those manly board shorts, as well as some horrific wigs to cover up that bad hair of his! LOL
Hope you and the rest of the Sookie fans like it, too. http://andyswist.com/TrueBlood-dolls.html
HUGS! :) Andy
PS- I revamped my paper doll webpage, too. It's a bit easier to see each
character and the files available for each. *note that the "Extras" buttons
that are the same color download the same file* (so you only need to
download it once!)

‘True Blood’ Vamp Stephen Moyer Wants You To Get Excited About Recycling
True Blood’s Stephen Moyer may play a vampire with a thirst for the red stuff, but in real life the 40-year-old says its going green that we should be getting excited about.
Moyer recently sat down with the New Zealand Herald to talk about his new network mini-series Ice — which takes place in the year 2020 as the world is being ravaged by the effects of climate change and the dawn of a new ice age. Picture New York City being threatened by massive icebergs and you get the picture. Here are some highlights from the interview:
Has playing this part altered your views of climate change at all?
I’ve been aware of it for quite a long time. Once you’ve got children you start thinking about what they’re going to live with, and their children once you’ve gone, and so I suppose, if anything, it’s just cemented my views in looking after everything.
