The eagerly-anticipated third season of the HBO hit kicks off Sunday with waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin, center) desperately seeking her missing fiance, the 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer, right, to whom Paquin is betrothed in real-life).

In the episode titled "Bad Blood," Sookie turns to bad boy Viking vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard, left) -- the sheriff of the local vampires -- for help in finding the wayward Bill.
