Talk Blood 11.5: what the hell was that on the table in the Sookie House of Horrors ?

We had a great little show last night , thanks to everyone who joined us.

We still didn't get to all the calls, but we will get in everyone next week. We are staying on live for 2 hours immediately following the finale.

*Dallas looks like the kid from the Home Alone movie *

The question of the night seemed to be how are they going to tie up all the loose ends in just one more episode. The consensus answer was- they aren't.

A great caller, Tokunbo from Baltimore agreed with @Sookie's description of Gran's house as a 'House of Horrors' but was concerned about the "head" that was on the table.

Thanks to Tokunbo for sending a screen-shot.

I think we all agree that it's an animal head a cows or maybe horse head that we see on the table. I did note that this was the only scene this whole season that I thought was truly scary.
Listen here if you missed last night's show.

It's a horse's head, definitely. I wonder if this is what Eggs was talking about when he asked Maryanne if they should go kill something? Poor horsie :(

I wondered what that was on the table! I thought it was a hog’s head because they can be easily purchased at any butcher.

The one thing that kept crossing my mind as I looked at Sookie’s Creepy House of Horrors was that smearing dirt and mud all over wall paper can not be cleaned. Sookie is going to have all new wall paper, paint and probably upholstery, or the magic of TV is going to put her house back the way it was. Obviously, I am not completely into the plot or scared if I’m thinking about cleaning and remodeling.

One thing Dallas said on the blog talk that I did not think about was that last season there were lots of scary scenes and this season there has not been any. Sookie walking through creepy dark house filled with dark eyed people should have been scary but it wasn’t. MaryAnn is not scary. Watching MaryAnn shake and wear some hokey claws and chase Sam in an evening dress is not menacing. Lorena bloody but not scary. Last season they filmed Bill killing uncle Barlett and disposing the body that was scary and Rene stalking Sookie was very scary. Why did they lose that scary edge this season? I think they missed a good opportunity to give the watchers a scare in the basement of the church and several other places during the season.
Also, when there are interesting characters such as Jessica, PAM, Chow, the tea cup humans, even the town drunk there is no excuse to belabor a story line.

There were quick little stories about Lafayette last season that were interesting and entertaining, the senator, porn site, aids burger, etc. I guess it is much easier to criticize than to create.

I think Jessica and Eric's stories saved this season from ruin.
